We’re looking for a new Business Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of our social enterprise, Data Orchard CIC. ABOUT GET FURTHER

One in three students leave school each year without a pass in GCSE English and maths - this rises to over one in two for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Without GCSEs in English and maths, these young people are significantly more likely to drop out of education and are locked out of key professions, apprenticeships, and university courses.

Get Further exists to change this. Our charity has an award-winning tuition programme that helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds in further education to pass GCSEs in English or maths. We place highly qualified, specialist English and maths tutors in further education, who deliver a bespoke curriculum that builds confidence and skills in these core subjects.

THE ROLE

The Senior Data and Insights Officer will help us to demonstrate the importance of our tuition for young people and adults who are undertaking these foundational qualifications.

You will have strong attention-to-detail and will make sure our data is relevant, accurate and confidential. You will be skilled in data analysis and interpretation: able to draw out insights from data and be confident in writing – and communicating – impact for a variety of purposes and audiences. 

As the Senior Data and Insights Officer you will work with the Director of Impact, within our Quality and Impact Team to:

Database Usage and Reporting  

• Support our Salesforce Lead in creating reports and dashboards, ensuring all data is relevant, accurate and secure.
• Use our database management system to generate reports and data analysis for the Senior Leadership Team, and other internal colleagues, to support marketing campaigns, fundraising campaigns, statutory information requests and organisational insight.
• Prepare reports for college partners, funders, and the Board, which set out our data, findings and impact, clearly and accurately. 
• • Confidently write about insights and findings from our data, generating learnings and recommendations for the organisation and other stakeholders.

Internal and External Evaluations

• Support the Director of Impact in developing assessment frameworks to robustly measure our impact and designing dissemination plans, to best harness and communicate that impact. 
• Oversee and implement internal evaluation activity, for example, finalising student surveys, focus group and interview tools. 
• Review and enhance data collection tools, process, analysis, and reporting. 
• Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of our evaluation data; and use the data to make recommendations to improve programme quality. 
• Review and keep abreast of literature and research in the further education, wider education, tuition and research landscape. You will share and apply learnings to our evaluation processes and programme delivery. 
• Manage large research projects with external evaluators.

Policy, Compliance & Quality Assurance 

• Support our ongoing compliance with GDPR across the organisation, as well as upholding our safeguarding frameworks.
• Implement policies and procedures relating to GDPR and ensure those policies are adhered to across the organisation. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL 

• Commitment to Get Further’s mission and values, including passionate about tackling educational inequality.
• Familiarity with database systems, like Salesforce (or able and interested in learning to use a database management system).
• Skilled in data analysis: able to use complex data to produce accurate, insightful and engaging findings and recommendations. 
• Research experience e.g. designing qualitative and quantitative instruments, survey design, knowledge of research designs (QED, RCT), ethical considerations, participatory research.
• IT skills e.g. MS Office (Word and Excel) and also data analytics software like Tableau and PowerBi.
• Project management experience: excellent at planning and managing projects, tracking key deliverables, overseeing budgets and financial controls. 
• Knowledge of GDPR requirements, policies, processes and organisational compliance. 
• Strong attention to detail, prioritises precision and accuracy. 
• Problem-solver: enjoys troubleshooting and demonstrates a ‘solution-oriented’ approach. 
• Excellent communication skills (including written and verbal skills).
• Excellent interpersonal skills: is proactive, enthusiastic, resilient and supportive team member.

DESIRABLE

• Familiarity with the FE sector.

Key responsibilities

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making. Ensure data is relevant, accurate, and accessible by creating, maintaining, and promoting dashboards (through Power BI)
   
• Fundraising and Marketing Effectiveness: Provide detailed reporting on the effectiveness of our campaigns. provide data insights following the and recommendations for future and work with teams to develop testing and continuous improvement plans to improve future outcomes and
   
• Supporter Insights: Deliver meaningful insight into our supporter base to support our donor acquisition and retention objectives. Build segmentations to be used for targeting.
  
   
• Impact Reporting: With the Director of Data, develop comprehensive impact reporting frameworks, tracking the effectiveness of our charitable activity, and providing the Senior Leadership Team with actionable insights to drive improvements.

Our people:

We are currently a team of 44 people and growing. Since the pandemic, we have moved to a hybrid working model, with some of our team members working remotely, with occasional trips to our Leeds and Birmingham offices, and travel to events around the UK.

What we want from you

We're on the lookout for a Data Insight Analyst who's ready to dive deep into the world of data-driven decision-making.

If you're someone who gets a kick out of using data to tackle real-world challenges and shape organisational strategy, then you might just be the perfect fit for our team. You'll need to be comfortable working with large datasets, flexing your data mining and customer profiling muscles.

Experience-wise, we're looking for someone who's no stranger to analytics software like Tableau, Faststats, or similar tools. When it comes to databases, you should be fluent in SQL and have an ability to optimise the use of data from across various sources.

First-hand experience with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge would be advantageous, especially in the charity sector, and if you're curious about data science or even have experience in this area, even better.

Apart from excellent analytical skills, you’ll have an inquisitive mind and love solving problems. We are looking for a strong communicator, confident at delivering your analysis outcomes whether that’s to a room of colleagues or chatting with stakeholders, your ability to convey complex insights in a clear and compelling way will be highly valued.

For over 20 years Somerset Environmental Records Centre (SERC) has been the focal organisation for holding data on wildlife sightings, types of habitats and geological information for Somerset.

We are looking for a Science and Data Specialist to support the strategy and work with SERC and the wider Somerset Wildlife Trust (SWT) Team to manage and increase the data and evidence required to meet our organisational goals.

Job Description – Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Working as an integral part of the Innovation and Evidence Team to ensure the Somerset Wildlife Trust becomes a reputable science led organisation and to ensure robust relationships with partner research intensive organisations are managed by:

Responsibility 1: Data and Evidence

• Working with the Head of Innovation and Evidence to develop the Somerset Wildlife Trust strategic approach to data and evidence, promoting SWT as a respected research-led organisation.
• Leading the review and updating of the Somerset State of Nature report, understanding gaps in information and exploring innovative options to increase data coverage and confidence, working closely with the SERC manager and data team.
• Leading on behalf of the Local Nature Partnership to provide inputs to the implementation, review and monitoring of the Somerset Local Nature Recovery Strategy, working closely with stakeholders including Somerset Council, landowner, communities and businesses involved in implementing measures to produce LNRS outcomes.
• Ensuring that new green finance mechanisms such as Biodiversity Net Gain and Wilder Carbon are operating from a sound evidence base, with a clear understanding of reporting needs and routes to monitoring and funding, working with the Heads of Nature Recovery, Reserves and SWTC. 
• Working with flagship investments and grants such as Honeygar Farm, to package, publicise and promote the outcomes of research programmes to appropriate audiences for maximum impact. Contributing to plans to scale these flagships and use science and data to build confidence around future investment plans.

Responsibility 2: Partnership and Funding

• Developing and managing the SWT approach to research partnership positioning SWT as a partner of choice for a diverse range of research-intensive organisations from across disciplines and institutions.
• Working closely with the SWT grants team to provide a pipeline of opportunities for funding, supporting the data and science strategic approach.
• Demonstrating clear planning and management skills around project implementation and budget management to support the portfolio of funded projects, working with staff across the organisation as appropriate.

• Managing two permanent members of staff as well as temporary staff where required.

About the role

Working across Global Witness’s campaigns within a larger data team, you will support our larger data investigations.  Using a range of tools and techniques, including data storytelling, analysis, bots and webscraping, you will highlight the role of corporations in worsening the environmental and climate crises.

You will bring core data specialist skills, in particular in financial analysis, natural language processing, remote sensing and accessing and using open data.

The Role   

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Marketing the Data & Systems Project Coordinator will be responsible for driving change, implementing new data processes and providing new insights at Enable.   

We are seeking an experienced data and systems professional with a passion for numbers and using data and analytics, to take the lead on various projects over the next 12 months.

The Sales and Marketing Team  

This is an exciting opportunity to join Enable’s growing Sales and Marketing team who report into the Head of Growth and Branding. No two days are same. Integral to the Sales and Marketing Team this role will also work across our varied service areas, in order to streamline processes, implement systems and analyse trends in order to create maximum impact.

• Systems assessment – Assessing the existing booking and CRM systems across the company
• Research – Investigate alternative system solutions to improve quality of data and collection, and provide best value solution for approval

Skills and experience  

• Experience with managing, interrogating, and implementing new data and CRM systems
• Proven experience reporting data and analysing trends to generate meaningful change within a company
• Worked on sales campaigns and be able to identify trends and insights mentioning sales trends – as well as campaign.
• A pro-active and ‘get-it-done’ approach to the implementation of new processes

· Draw conclusions and recommendations from data, transforming data into insights that help address complex problems and inform decision-making, and present these in a range of formats.

· Advise on design and define data requirements for future information collection systems and research, to enable deeper and practical insights for future service planning, policy influencing, and campaigns

· Work closely with Campaigns, Policy & Research colleagues to maximise use of internal and external data to inform and evidence policy positions, asks, and campaigns

· Develop relationships with research, analysis, and data stakeholders, for example in academic institutions, research agencies, charities, government departments, other public bodies, the Armed Forces community, and data science professionals across a range of sectors.

You will be contracted to your home address, and you will perform most of your work remotely there using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings) to our London Head Office hub.
