Key responsibilities:

One-to-one support

You will provide intensive one-to-one support bespoke to kinship carers and their families over a six-month intervention, working within the Kinship Connected delivery model. This may include, but is not limited to:

· Practical and emotional support to kinship carers virtually or in-person in their home or community.

· Signposting or referring to relevant national and local services.

· Liaising with other professionals and organisations.

· Attending professional meetings when the carer needs extra support (e.g. CIN. CP, family group conference, school meetings).

· Making referrals to other Kinship services such as Advice, Someone Like Me, Peer-to-Peer.

· Signposting carers to secure grants from local and national funders.

· Setting goals for change following Kinship Connected processes, in partnership with the kinship carer.

· Monitor, review and revise these goals to ensure carers are on track and goals remain relevant and as part of the ‘closing’ process as the carers complete the intervention.

Peer group facilitation and management

You will be responsible for planning, organising, facilitating peer support groups for kinship carers in your area, working in line with the Kinship Connected delivery model.  This will involve:

· Developing existing groups and setting up new groups as required.

· Working closely with Kinship’s peer-to-peer service where appropriate.

· Collaborating with kinship carers, the local authority, and community partners to set up virtual and in-person support groups in your commissioned area.

· Planning, preparing, facilitating virtual and in-person support groups.

· Promoting groups in the local area to kinship carers and organisations who work with them, including contributing to the creation of promotional materials.

Participation

· According to Kinship’s Volunteering policy and other related policies, support kinship carers to engage with opportunities such as volunteering in virtual and in-person support groups.

· Work proactively to enable kinship carers to influence the design and delivery of the peer support groups delivered in their area (such as topics, time / date, location).

· Support Kinship’s communications and engagement strategy by providing case studies and sourcing images for newsletters and local media to promote the programme.

Safeguarding and risk management

Kinship has a robust safeguarding structure. You will be supported by a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Designated Deputy Safeguarding Leads (DDSL).

· Recognise and respond appropriately to signs of abuse or neglect, following national legislation and procedures and Kinship’s own safeguarding procedures.

· Liaise with your line manager and safeguarding lead regarding safeguarding concerns, following Kinship’s policies and processes.

· Provide updates and information for managers about cases of concern.

· Complete risk assessments for events or groups with families in line with Kinship’s policies and processes to be signed off by a DSL or DDSL.

· Follow Kinship’s health and safety policies to keep yourself and your clients safe, such as Lone Working Policy, Home Visit Policy and other relevant policies.

Monitoring and Evaluation

· Ensure casework, attendance, feedback, and other data related to service delivery are regularly and accurately recorded on our Salesforce database in line with Kinship’s policy and best practice.

· Ensure completion of carer registration forms, review forms, and closure forms, taking details that will be used to evidence impact.

· Collect case studies from your kinship carers to help demonstrate impact.

· Contribute to any reports for local authority partners as required with data and case studies.

· Attend monitoring meetings as required.

· Engage in quality assurance processes in line with ongoing programme development.

Relationship and stakeholder management  

· In partnership with the Senior Project Worker, enable local authorities to understand the programme and pathways for how to make referrals.

· Support practitioners' meetings with local authorities to encourage referrals, discuss cases, and ensure local authority confidence in the programme.

· Where applicable, work with local authorities to raise awareness of kinship care and to reach and support kinship carers through the programme.

· Where possible and relevant, represent Kinship at external events and meetings to raise awareness of the programme and to influence other organisations.

General duties and tasks

· To attend and engage with team and general staff meetings.

· To personally prepare for and attend case reviews, one-to-ones and appraisals with your line manager.

· To act at all times in the best interest of Kinship.

· To participate in the induction of new staff members and volunteers.

· To work with line manager to identify own training needs and undertake training and development.

· To engage in reflective practice, using opportunities for supervision and professional development as appropriate.

· Deputise for the Senior Project Worker as needed such as internal meetings or external meetings and events.

· Participate in opportunities provided by Kinship to develop your skills and knowledge such as staff training, ‘Lunch and learn’ sessions.

· To carry out other related duties as may from time to time be required to fulfil the mission of the team and organisation.

· To develop Kinship Care Week in your local area.

· Be willing to travel across England as necessary to attend events and raise the profile of the service and kinship care.

Standard Clauses

Job purpose:

 The role has two distinct areas of responsibility:

  Provide administrative and logistical support for the smooth running of the London office (70%). Administrative assistance for the general operations of the Trustees, including coordination of Board meetings (30%), although this may vary on a day-to-day basis.

This role requires a candidate who is well-organised, adaptable, and proactive. Strong administrative, numeracy, communication, and IT skills and proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint and our organisational Intranet, are essential.

 Most importantly, they’ll be team players willing to learn and bring a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a proactive, can-do approach.

Roles and responsibilities:

Office Administration and logistical support (70%)

· Proactively ensure that the office functions well and efficiently, maintaining office equipment and stocks of office supplies within budget.

· Act as the primary contact for visitors and phone inquiries. Manage the general inquiries email inbox and other shared email accounts.

· Be the main point of contact for office maintenance, security, and building management. Communicate with the landlord to promptly and efficiently address any related issues.

· Ensure office procedures are kept up-to-date and communicated to staff.

· Coordinate the preparation and production of business cards and ID cards for staff

· Develop and uphold Saferworld (UK)’s list of trusted suppliers, regularly reviewing and adjusting as necessary in alignment with Saferworld’s procurement policy.

· Add, update and maintain the UK Asset online asset register

· Identify opportunities to improve administrative systems and processes and proactively collaborate to redesign them.

· Collaborate closely with the Global People and Operations teams and ICT to assist in the onboarding and offboarding processes for new staff in our London office.

· Plan staff events, including annual summer and winter socials.

· Assist with renewing global insurance policies and provide administrative support for handling claims, including coordinating with staff and the insurance claims team as necessary.

· Coordinate with the IT team to set up new employees, ensuring the provision of company IT equipment aligns with internal policies.

· Provide administrative support to staff when visiting the UK, including providing visa support letters and making travel bookings in the UK for visiting staff and partners.

· Provide support with the organisational Travel Management Company (TMC), including setting up staff profiles and offering booking guidance.

· Monitor staff travel plans for ICT equipment movement.

· Manage Saferworld's organisational contacts database, including contact import, tagging, and deduplication, in compliance with UK GDPR legislation.

· Maintain an organised and effective filing structure within the internal SharePoint sites where relevant

Management team administrative support (30%)

· Provide administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer when required.

· Assist in preparing and coordinating management team, UK and Saferworld Europe Board meetings, and other committee and leadership meetings. This includes handling documentation, logistical arrangements, ICT setup for remote participation, and supporting travel bookings and expense claims.

· Manage the global Saferworld calendar, ensuring everyone is informed of events and meetings as necessary.

· Undertake miscellaneous tasks as requested by the CEO, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to support organisational needs effectively.

As part of our fund management programmes, THET will be conducting a variety of international visits and events in the next 11 months. We require a consultant to lead the administration of the logistics involved in this work.

Assignment overview and scheduling

The consultant will provide logistical support across three main categories:

1. Scoping assessments in four sub-Saharan African countries, namely Ethiopia, Malawi, Somaliland and Zimbabwe
   1. A scoping assessment is a week-long series of in-person meetings with Ministry of Health and other relevant government sector representatives, subnational health agencies and government authorities, regulatory bodies, training institutions, FCDO, UK DHSC, WHO local offices.
   2. Each visit will likely involve up to 3 staff travelling from the UK to the country
   3. The consultant will be responsible for organising their travel rather than the scoping assessment meetings.
2. Delegation visit from Zimbabwe to UK
   1. A week-long visit of up to 7 Ministry of Health representatives and other national stakeholders to the UK
   2. The consultant will be responsible for organising their travel and some of the meetings while in-country.
3. Programme launch events in Ethiopia, Malawi, Somaliland and Zimbabwe
   1. A one-day long event in each country, with between 40-80 attendees
   2. Each event will likely see 2-3 staff travelling from the UK to the country. The consultant will be required to organise their travel and venue booking.

Knowledge, Skills and Expertise required

To successfully undertake this assignment, the Consultant should meet the following minimum requirements:

• International travel logistics experience, ideally in sub-Saharan Africa
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Budget preparation and tracking
• Proven organisational and administrative skills, with sound IT skills (Word and Excel)
• Flexibility and adaptability working within a small organisation
• Ability to work independently and take the initiative

The contract is for 40 days over eleven months. The Consultant will receive a daily rate of £180, which totals to £7,200 for the whole programme. The consultant will invoice THET on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable and will cover all expenses apart from project-related travel and communication expenses. Where reasonable travel and communications expenses are incurred, the Consultant will be remunerated following submission of timely and accurate receipts.

Receipts must be kept, where possible, in order to claim for support costs. Consultants will not be expected to use their own funds to cover project-related costs.

Inter Mediate is one of the world’s leading independent conflict resolution organisations. Operating out of London, it works in conflict zones around the world to support peace negotiations and advise on strategies to stop and prevent wars. This is an exciting opportunity to join its small, expert projects team as a Project Development Officer, supporting Inter Mediate’s Project Directors to advance peace negotiations with a special focus on conflicts in the Middle East and Africa.  

 Role summary

The Project Development Officer (PDO) will work within the Inter Mediate Projects Team under the guidance of the Projects Directors and coordination with the Deputy CEO, Operations Team and CEO, to:

• Support and implement Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio supporting peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives.
• Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes, mainly in Africa and the Middle East
• Identify and develop entry points for new projects.
• Monitor and analyse political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work.
• Research lessons from past peace efforts relevant to Inter Mediate’s current work.
• Support the Operations Team and Project Directors to prepare project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collect evidence of project impact.

Specific responsibilities:

•  Contribute to strategies to deliver Inter Mediate projects and institutional priorities.
• Support the Project Directors to cultivate and maintain relationships with key interlocutors and relevant experts in the field.
• Undertake travel, including to conflict settings.
• Draft high quality policy memos, speeches and concept notes for senior audiences.
• Provide logistical support for project delivery, including managing travel of project teams, interlocutors and consultants.
• Monitor media, think tanks and other analysis centres on conflict dynamics, and produce briefings and analytic papers for the CEO ahead of travel or engagement with key interlocutors.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

 Successful candidates would need to demonstrate:

• A masters degree in politics, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, international affairs, public policy or an equivalent subject. Relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu.
• Three years of work experience in conflict resolution or peace process support for a governmental, non-governmental or inter-governmental organisation, or an equivalent field such as diplomacy, humanitarian access, political risk advisory services, conflict journalism or conflict analysis. Experience relevant to West Africa and Middle East preferred.
• Excellent written English, and evidence of ability to produce high-quality written work to deadline.
• A strong understanding of political and conflict dynamics – particularly Africa and the Middle East - and the ability to produce well-structured and concise analysis
• Ability to operate successfully in high pressure, sensitive political environments and support high-level individuals
• Experience of work and travel in conflict-affected areas, and willingness to travel independently, with support from the Project Directors.
• Evidence of strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to support the smooth running of a small team, and willingness to take an “all hands on deck” approach when required.
• Fluency in French and/or Arabic or other languages (desirable)

Invisible Palace is currently looking for a Youth Support Worker to join an established circus project that works with local a primary school and youth partners in the Bromley and Lewisham areas of London.

Your experience does not necessarily need to be in a school or youth work setting, but could be working or volunteering in youth groups, sports coaching, after school clubs or the care sector.

You will need to have availability during late afternoon and early evening and during school holidays, these are the times when activities on the circus programme take place.

Job Description - Freelance Youth Support Worker

• Freelance contract of up to 8 hours per week at £18 per hour for an estimated 44 weeks of the year.
• Available after school, early evening, and school holidays.
• Attend after school club sessions periodically to understand the needs of participants and support participation in the wider circus programme, currently Wednesday evenings 10 weeks per term.
• Attend taster sessions for youth groups to understand the needs of participants and support participation in the wider circus programme, usually afternoon sessions during half term or summer holidays.
• Have a supportive and encouraging attitude, to inspire trust and good communication with young people and families.
• Identify needs of young people and support those needs to minimise barriers to participation in the circus programme.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to young people as they navigate challenges and pursue their goals within the programme.
• Support young people directly with travel to and from sessions at local circus school using bus, taxi, or with volunteer drivers. Usually early evenings.
• Support young people with additional behavioural needs during sessions this may involve attending after school session more frequently.
• Work closely with colleagues from Invisible Palace and partner organisations to support good and clear communication for the benefit of young people taking part in activities.

About the role:

Kinship are seeking to recruit experienced event co-ordinators with a whole range of skills and great energy to join our brand-new training team. They will be responsible for delivering this first ever programme of its type supporting kinship carers across England in their caring role. 

As a pivotal part of the team, you’ll be supporting delivery of high-quality in-person and online training events across England. You’ll be the first point of contact for the team and be experienced and responsive in dealing with enquiries. You’ll be used to working with suppliers and have proven experience of planning, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of large events. You’ll bring significant working experience of using Microsoft tools, and other platforms and technology including Zoom. You’ll have a positive, can-do approach and the ability to work with initiative, being curious and always thinking ahead to anticipate need and deal with issues.

Collaboration will be key to your approach, and you’ll be detail orientated and be great at managing your time and priorities, and working to consistently high standards. You’ll plan, co-ordinate and support the successful delivery of all our online and in-person events, including being available and involved as needed on site. 

In this role, you’ll travel across England and may have overnight stays from time to time. We offer training and support to enable you to be successful in your role and we’re happy to discuss requirements if you have kinship caring responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing highly effective project management and administrative support to the training programme, including supplier communication, coordinating programme logistics and delivery of all relevant general and financial administration tasks, e.g. scheduling meetings, providing agendas, writing briefings, minute-taking, monitoring expenditure and organising events, training and workshops.
• Being the first point of contact for the team, for both internal and external purposes, communicating effectively with kinship carers, internal training team, external delivery partners and other stakeholders to coordinate and confirm all training activity.

Essential requirements include:

• Proven experience in event planning and management. You will need previous experience being responsible for organising large events (over 50 people). 
• Experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and processes that enable team effectiveness. You will need a minimum of 1 year’s administration experience.

JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.
