Gain an in-depth introduction to the voluntary sector on the Working for a Charity Foundation Course. It provides a bridge to help you take the first step towards gaining paid employment in a voluntary organisation, an opportunity for you to see the career options open to you and to learn about how a charity works.
The course combines seven full day seminars and workshops spread over several weeks. Each day is participative and delegates are encouraged to use the course as a starting point for exploring the sector:
Day I: Understanding the voluntary sector and the role of volunteers
Day 2: Jobs in the voluntary sector
Day 3: Marketing and public relations in the voluntary sector
Day 4: Developing a fundraising strategy
Day 5: Charitable trust funding and company giving
Day 6: Financial management and governance
Day 7: Successful interviews, a springboard for the future
