Build Africa is a dynamic charity working exclusively in rural areas of Uganda and Kenya to help young people escape poverty through education and income generation. We are offering the opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in both fundraising and the development sector to support the Corporate Partnerships Manager.
 
We are looking to fill a three day a week position for a duration of three months. This placement will offer you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing Corporate team, gaining true hands-on experience in a vital area of fundraising that will ultimately increase your competitiveness when applying for paid positions in the sector.
 
This is an unsalaried internship. We will reimburse travel costs and make a lunch allowance.
 
What this post offers: The opportunity to gain insight into the work of an international development charity and experience in the area of corporate fundraising, particularly being involved in the launch of the exciting web-based microsite application we will be offering our corporate partners in the New Year in order to keep them connected to the projects they are supporting.
 
Responsible to: Corporate Partnerships Manager
 
Role: The candidate will complete targeted research and activity to support the Corporate Partnerships Manager in identifying potential corporate supporters, preparing data and material for strategic mailings. The candidate will also help with the preparation of proposals, feedback reports and presentations, as well as be particularly involved in maintaining and updating the corporate microsites.
 
Commitment: We are looking for a commitment of 3 days per week for three months.
 
Build Africa has a Child Protection policy that the successful candidate will be expected to comply with. This role is graded at a Basic Level in terms of Child Protection and CRB Checks.
