About A f I D (Accounting for International Development)

Accounting for International Development (A f I D) offers accountants the opportunity to use thie skills to make a genuine difference while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the international development sector.

Accountants could be budgeting with a street kid centre in Kampala, coaching a hospital bookkeeper in Kigali or financial reporting for a primary school in Kathmandu…

Volunteer assignments of between 2 & 12 weeks form part of an ongoing strategy to build the financial management capacity and long term sustainability of small community based organisations across Africa and Asia. Organisations that are doing amazing work to tackle extreme poverty and inequality in their communities but sadly have little or no access to these vital skills and services.

The main focus of all our assignments is to develop and enhance the skills, confidence and potential of local people in an appropriate and sustainable manner, long-term capacity building based on local realities.

A f I D is now supporting over 90 grassroots charities in 20 countries across Africa, Asia and South America and our partners urgently need the assistance of outgoing accountants to coach and mentor their staff.
