We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

Historically, we have delivered litter-picking focussed community engagement projects in London and Birmingham. Our current focus is developing partnerships with community organisations across England to expand our reach and increase impact.

Main duties of the role 

• To provide a pro-active, high-quality administration and support service to the Operational Team, Chief Executive and the Corporate Partnerships team. 

Operational Team: Deals with logistics, processes and day to day functions of our work on the ground with community partners and volunteers. 

• To attend weekly team meetings 

• To assist in research into new areas of operation for the charity. 

• To oversee orders of equipment and printed resources to our partners with various suppliers around the country.

• To maintain meticulous records regarding our growing national Cleanup Hub network of community partners. 

• To collate statistics and create regular reports of programme activity, using our website and new database. 

• To provide help and advice to enquiries that come through our information email inbox. This could include; helping people access their profiles on our website or advising them as to how to get involved in community litter picking activity.

• To use Mail Chimp to send mailers to our partners and followers. 

• Database Management, to take a pro-active role in our upcoming database development project, considering how best to structure, store and export data. Following the launch of the database lead on database development and maintenance, such as an annual data cleanse.

• To assist with setting up, maintaining and updating database information, Community Cleanup Hub registrations, profiles and filing systems, ensuring that data handling complies with GDPR requirements. 

• To assist with staff recruitment and induction processes. 

Chief Executive: leads our strategic direction / reports to the Trustees 

• To organise board meetings; booking diary dates, venues, catering and taking minutes. 

• To attend and take detailed minutes at board meetings and any other meetings required.

About FareShare

FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 9,500 frontline charities and community groups.

The role

This role is about so much more than just coordinating the day-to-day operations of a busy FareShare warehouse: it’s about sharing the FareShare mission that “no good food should go to waste”. Your work will make sure that quality surplus food is helping feed people in need.

As a Warehouse Coordinator you will be the face of FareShare, involved in the supervision of a large team of volunteers to ensure our charity members receive their food orders each week. Each shift you will be responsible for ensuring health and safety of the team supporting FareShare, whether they are regular volunteers, supporters from our corporate partners, visitors to the warehouse, or your colleagues. You will also be ensuring your team follows the food safety standards set out in the FareShare operating manual to ensure the safe receipt of food by all our charity members.

Main responsibilities

In the FareShare Regional Centre warehouse you’ll:

• Get to know your team and respond to questions about FareShare’s mission, the food partners who support us, charities who receive food and the planned activities for the day
• Work as a team with the Warehouse Manager, warehouse colleagues and volunteers to ensure all shifts are well planned, supervised and meet daily operational needs
• Be responsible for the health & safety and security of buildings, vehicles, staff and volunteers, including the delivery of appropriate health & safety briefings
• Carry out & update risk assessments as defined by the FareShare operating manual and complete risk assessments for all new activity as required
• Ensure compliance with all FareShare policies and procedures and industry standards as required by food partners and regulators and that all staff, volunteers, food suppliers, charities and visitors adhere to them

In the FareShare Regional Centre office you’ll:

• Support the Warehouse Manager in managing the office, responding to emails and taking phone calls
• Support the Warehouse Manager in organising food distribution using the FareShare food management systems and training volunteers as required
• Maintain excellent relations and communications with volunteers, staff, food suppliers and charities

If required to drive a FareShare van, you’ll:

• Drive safely, responsibly and within the law
• Be courteous to all road users

Operating Hours and Shift Pattern

Position will be part of a rota: Monday – Friday either 7am – 3pm/8am-4pm or 9am – 5pm and, on occasional Saturdays on a rota basis.

Flexibility to provide cover for planned and ad-hoc absences as well as Public and Bank Holidays is highly desirable in this role and also offers the opportunity for additional hours to supplement the core hours.

Our Corporate Support Coordinator plays a key role in developing and implementing a compelling package for businesses and organisations to support FareShare GM, which includes running corporate days (team building and volunteering in the FSGM operation) as well as other ways for organisations to engage with us such as sponsorship, fundraising activities, events and so on.

About FareShare Go

FareShare and the Irish social enterprise FoodCloud have been working together since 2016 in a partnership designed to help UK retailers address the issue of edible surplus food they may have within their stores. This innovative partnership, known as FareShare Go, brings together a technology platform and FareShare’s knowledge of the UK charity food redistribution market. Using this App we are connecting charities with edible surplus foods. Initially this scheme has been working with Tesco, with a view to roll this service out to all retailers across the UK & Ireland in the longer term. Since launching the scheme last year we have already connected over 7,500 charities with over 2,700 stores.

The role

As Community Coordinator, your role will focus on the growth and sustainability of the FareShare Go programme, through maximising relationships and adding value to create the best experience for our charity community. The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator, with an approachable nature who will play a vital role in developing and maintaining charity and retailer relationships, plus raising awareness of FareShare Go across your local area. 

Main areas of responsibility

• Charity account management: You will carry out virtual calls and in person visits with new and existing charities, and be responsible for ensuring that coverage KPIs are reached and maintained for both new and existing retailers. Using your analysis of charity needs, plus your knowledge of retailer and store profiles, you will use these visits to maximise the offer to charities, ensuring the service meets their requirements. 
• Community Capacity Building: As part of the Building of relationships with charities, you will seek opportunities to enable and empower charities to increase their capacity and ability to take more food, to ultimately increase the redistribution of surplus food to those in need. 
• Sustainability and Compliance: You will work with your Regional Manager and team to identify stores where re-engagement activities are needed to improve charity coverage and charity compliance. You will work to maximise the amount of food collected by charities with lower levels of compliance. You will also be responsible for undertaking food safety reviews with charities to ensure compliance. 
• Retailer Engagement: You will play a key role in maintaining strong retailer relationships across your region. You will take an active role in any meet and greets with retailers, where required. Plus, you will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with the relevant retail stakeholders in your region, sensitively dealing with any issues in a professional manner, as and when they arise. 
• FareShare Network Engagement: We aim to become 'oneFareShare’. These roles are an integral part of our FareShare network and you will partner closely with the Regional Centre(s) in your areas. You will work on joint initiatives which improve and grow the FareShare community, ensuring that charities have access to the FareShare service which best meet their needs.

Fauna & Flora’s Eurasia programme is seeking a Programme Administrator to undertake a key supporting role within the programme; working closely with the Programme Finance Officer to deliver administrative, information management and office support to the Eurasia team and its projects, helping ensure compliance with internal systems, policies and procedures and donor requirements.

About the role

As an Employment Coach, you will manage a caseload of participants and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training. You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

Within this role you will be required to source new referrals who are predominantly Economically Inactive; complete the enrolment paperwork, including development plans and eligibility checks. You will also be required to attend events and present the delivery model to referral sources to attract additional referrals.

We want someone like you with the confidence to positively engage and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds. We’re in search of individuals who have prior experience in employment coaching, case management, or related fields, ideally with a focus on economically inactive individuals. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport whilst being empathetic, patient, and proficient in communicating with individuals from various backgrounds.

Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Programme Assistant to deliver effective support to the Conservation Capacity & Leadership team. The successful candidate will assist the Director and Conservation Capacity & Leadership team members in delivering the programme’s targets, through administration, basic finance and logistical support, disseminating learning and communications. The role will in particular support Fauna & Flora’s conservation leadership, partner support, and professional development initiatives.

You will have strong relevant experience in an administrative role, with excellent numeracy, organisational and time management skills and a structured and methodical approach to work.

Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong working relationships with colleagues. You will be a self-motivated team player and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where the ability to respond swiftly to changing organisational and team needs is paramount. With excellent communication skills, you will have a proven ability to write for a range of audiences. Fluency in English is essential.

Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust is one of 46 local, independent Wildlife Trusts and is the charity that works to make the environment of Birmingham and the Black Country (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton) a better place for wildlife and people through environmental education, community involvement, ecological and practical work.

As an independent wildlife charity, Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust is dependent on the generosity of supporters through a variety of charitable giving means. We are seeking a Fundraising Officer to develop and grow voluntary income across a range of activity, including applications for funding to trusts and foundations, individual donations, and work with corporate donors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop your skills as a fundraiser whilst making a real difference to people and wildlife in Birmingham and the Black Country. The post will help ensure we can achieve our ambitious plans to attract new charitable income, build a wide communication network and diversify fundraising opportunities. 

As a Fundraising Officer you will have excellent communication skills, especially written. You will be comfortable supporting grant monitoring and evaluation activity. You be confident in building strong and compelling relationships with funders and corporate partners. You will work as part of an effective team and benefit from working with experienced professionals. Above all you will be driven by a commitment to drive forward our charitable income to help support nature’s recovery.

Flexible role, based in offices within Birmingham or working from home, as required. Occasional travel regionally and nationally.

As an Agricultural Adviser at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, you will work alongside colleagues in the team to help inspire and support farmers across the area. You will work closely with our Warwickshire Farm Cluster Groups and the partners we work with to provide advice and guidance to farmers. Helping them to integrate nature into their business, apply for the Government’s new agricultural grants, and support them to transition to a more nature friendly way of farming.

Role purpose: As an Agricultural Adviser at Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, you will work alongside colleagues in the team to help inspire and support farmers across the area. You will work closely with our Warwickshire Farm Cluster Groups and the partners we work with to provide advice and guidance to farmers. Helping them to integrate nature into their business, apply for the Government’s new agricultural grants, and support them to transition to a more nature friendly way of farming.

Experience level: We are recruiting two Agricultural Adviser roles and considering all levels of experience. We have the potential of offering roles at Officer (experienced), Assistant (limited experience), Trainee (entry) depending on the candidates that apply.

Outside the organisation: We work in partnership with Warwickshire Rural Hub, other organisations and independent agricultural advisers to support farmers across the area through the Warwickshire Farm Cluster initiative.
