POP nurtures relationships between the grassroots, other VCSE organisations and the statutory sectors. We help to form, support and nurture networks across the city. Along the way we support over 350 member groups with funding, advice and training. This role (called Core Lead internally) sits in the middle of the team and leads on the operational side. We’re looking for someone to join our small and very friendly and supportive team and take a lead on some or all of the following areas:

Communications – Shaping marketing plans

Compliance - ensure we keep up to date with any legal changes around policies and governance, GDPR etc; Oversee production of the Annual Report

Events - AGM Co-ordination; Oversee Events Schedule, plan monthly POP member events and Outreach days

Finance - Review of Finance process; liaison with Bookkeeper and Accountant

Membership - Members renewals process

Operational Lead – including:

HR support

Office Management duties including managing IT support

Reflective practice lead - Organise and facilitate Quarterly Learning Reviews

Skills and Experience required:

General office manager / HR background including recruitment and compliance

Events organisation and hosting (including online)

Marketing / Comms ideally including working in Membership organisation or similar

Working in a charity or social enterprise and knowledge of the VCSE sector (not essential)

What is an IPS Employment Specialist?
This is a rewarding and dynamic role where no day is the same and you’ll be making a genuine difference to people’s lives. Using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model you’ll be:
- Supporting and motivating individuals with mental health conditions to access and sustain paid employment.
- Regularly meeting with clients to listen, offer support and help them identify their best job match, reflecting their skills and aspirations.
- Supporting the clients through CV production, interview techniques and managing their health at work.
- Advocating for your clients by educating and engaging with employers regarding the IPS service.
- Sourcing job opportunities for your clients through regular contact with local employers within the community.
- Promoting employment and raising expectations around the ability of service users to access paid employment, breaking down the barriers for them.

Who are we looking for?
Firstly, you will need either a degree-level education or relevant work experience, such as in the health and social care or employment sectors. Alongside having strong and persuasive communication skills, excellent time management and exceptional organisational skills. Also, the ability to initiate and develop relationships with a variety of individuals and be able to engage employers using a variety of methods such as via the telephone or face-to-face in the community.
It would also be helpful, but NOT essential, if you have experience of working with people with mental health support needs (or similar groups) OR have experience working in employment support services (or equivalent), this can include working with people on a one-to-one basis, offering motivation and support, or engaging with a range of stakeholders. We are actively interested in individuals who have experience using a persuasive communication style or promoting a service to a variety of audiences, this can include marketing, recruitment, or sales roles.

As Recruitment and Compliance Administrator you will:
- Support the Recruitment Specialists (x2) to provide a proactive and efficient recruitment service to support our 28 Care Homes throughout the organisation
- Provide recruitment administration covering the full end-to-end recruitment process
- This will include placing job adverts, sifting applications, arranging interviews an pre-employment checks
- Carry out full compliance checks on Head Office and Management level new recruits, including reference checks and DBS checks, and preparing personnel files
We are looking for a candidate with a strong administration background and who can demonstrate the following:
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and communication skills
- Candidates must be able to multi-task and be comfortable working independently dealing with a busy and constantly changing workload
- Candidates must be used to working to set deadlines and changing priorities
Previous recruitment administration experience, ideally within a healthcare setting, is highly desirable.
