Crisis Skylight Receptionist
Job DescriptionCrisis is the national charity for single homeless people. We are dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.
Our innovative education, employment, housing and well-being services address individual needs and help homeless people to transform their lives.
We are currently recruiting for a part time Receptionist (working Wednesday,Thursday and Friday) to join the busy Reception Team, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming, friendly environment for all visitors to Crisis Skylight London activities and other Crisis departments/projects.
Crisis Skylight Reception is a busy area and in this role you will be the first point of contact for members of the public, homeless people seeking advice, Skylight members, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors whilst also receiving a steady stream of deliveries. You need to be friendly and enjoy helping people with the willingness to learn all about Crisis as the first person that many new visitors to Crisis will meet.
In this role you will have supervision and coordination of the Reception volunteers, ensuring they are fully occupied and offer ongoing guidance to assist their development. You will be knowledgeable regarding the Skylight offer and external services with the ability to sign post members on to the relevant support services.
You will have relevant experience of work within a receptionist/administrative support role and experience of working with homeless people or other vulnerable groups. You will have effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work well in a busy and sometimes challenging environment.
