Job description
About The Role
Closing date: 21st April
Contract: This is a fixed term contract opportunity for 12 months.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

Are you an experienced learning and development professional with expert knowledge in volunteering good practice? We’re looking for someone passionate, innovative and collaborative, who can begin to revolutionise our learning offer and create engaging solutions for our learners.

This role will sit within the Volunteering Team, part of the People directorate, and will work across Alzheimer’s Society to identify, plan, design and support the delivery of learning interventions for both volunteers and volunteer managers.

This will be a busy and challenging role; you will need to manage a range of competing priorities and be confident to take the reins to build learning and development approaches, interventions and pathways that are inclusive and will leave a lasting impact.

It’s an exciting time for the Volunteering Team as we enter a new phase, developing our strategy and ensuring we are able to meet the volunteering needs of the Society. The Volunteering Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in achieving this, ensuring we are safe and compliant, but also fit for the future.

Alzheimer's Society have recently been named on the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023. We have achieved excellent scores for workplace happiness, pride, and job satisfaction. This is a fantastic achievement and we're incredibly proud as this is fantastic indication of how far we’ve travelled over the past few years.

About you

- Skilled and experienced in designing, developing, and delivering blended learning approaches.
- Hold a relevant Learning and Development qualification at Level 4 or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of the value volunteers add and the impact they bring to organisations, with up-to-date knowledge of volunteering best practice.
- Experience of evaluating the impact of learning solutions, using data to inform future improvements.
- Understanding of how to adapt and tailor learning solutions to various audiences, including people living with dementia.
- Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.

About Alzheimer's Society
At Alzheimer's Society, we believe passionately that life doesn't end when dementia begins. We are here for anyone affected by dementia, and we do everything we can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.

Everything we do is shaped by people affected by dementia. Their knowledge and experience are critical to bringing about real-world solutions. From choosing the most promising research through to telling their stories to raise awareness; they are the heart of this organisation.
