We’re looking for a dynamic Workforce Development Coordinator to lead, manage and develop our incredible sports coaches, volunteers and tutors. You’ll be managing everything from recruitment through to personal and professional development. 

You’ll use your people skills to work closely with partners to deliver expert-led training courses, making their activities more inclusive for disabled people. Highly organised and with an eye for detail, you’ll liaise with each partner to make sure we meet their needs. 

You’ll also manage Inclusive Activity Leaders – a truly life-changing programme created in partnership with Nike that trains disabled people to become fully qualified sports coaches and enjoy new careers.

Your role

But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. To lead the volunteer team and maximize the potential of volunteering to support the service. FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting food poverty and hunger by tackling waste. We source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from the food industry. An army of volunteers help redistribute this food to over 500 frontline charities and community groups such as school breakfast clubs, community centres and organisations supporting those who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated and recovering from addiction. These organisations provide meals and food parcels to over 67,000 vulnerable people every week.   We also support people through our Employability programmes, enabling them to learn skills and find rewarding work – some for the first time.  

Hunger is a growing issue in the UK and while there is surplus food that is otherwise going to waste, we believe that this food should be used to feed people first. 

The Role

This role will work closely with the Volunteer Manager to coordinate and administrate the daily running of our volunteer programme in the Nottingham area. You will be responsible for the timely collection, processing and updating of all volunteer data for the volunteer teams in your area.

You will also ensure that compliance data such as food hygiene certificates, driving licence checks etc. are completed and recorded within expected timeframes.

The role will involve working closely with the operations teams to ensure that volunteer inductions are completed and site rotas are maintained.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1. Volunteer Administration

· Ensure that all new applications are responded to and processed in a timely and professional manner

· Ensure that all induction paperwork is completed and recorded prior the volunteer starting

About the post of CEO

You will report directly to the Board of Trustees, ensuring excellent governance of the Charity, regulatory compliance with the Charity Commission and Companies House, and will collaborate with Trustees on designing and executing the 2024-2027 strategy. You will lead and support a team of seven staff, supporting 500+ older and disabled Neighbours annually with a large team of volunteers. You will ensure excellent management of charity’s finances and that adequate funding is in place to maintain all charitable activity, monitoring and evaluation. You will ensure that the charity maintains its reputation and develops its exposure and standing.

You will have strategic leadership experience and have previously led teams. You will have a strong understanding of charity governance and will have demonstrable fundraising knowledge and/or experience. You will be passionate about supporting older and disabled people and will have a strong understanding of their needs. You will be equipped to represent the Charity both internally and externally.  

JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategy and Operations

1. Develop, implement, and lead execution of the charity's annual operational plan and 3-year strategic plan.

2. Identify appropriate level of staffing, volunteering, ensuring that all staff and volunteers are appropriately interviewed, vetted, inducted, trained, developed, and supported to deliver against their objectives.

3. Ensure appropriate upkeep, security, and management of the charity’s premises, including all relevant contracts and payments.

4. Ensure that the charity’s IT systems are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant law.

People

5. Line management of seven staff members, and responsibility for staff and team development, cohesion and appraisals.

6. Recruit and support social club facilitators and appropriate consultants to provide additional resource to the charity as required.

7. Lead staff member for safeguarding, liaising directly with Hammersmith and Fulham Adult Social Care.

8. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 100 regular volunteers, and up to 100 additional corporate/student volunteers.

9. Ensure appropriate mechanisms and safeguards are in place to support up to 500 beneficiaries and additional attendees at FGN events.

10. Develop, implement, and lead charity’s financial and fundraising planning and management, ensuring that the charity operates at least at break-even, ideally with a small surplus.

Hackney Foodbank is looking for a Volunteer Manager to join their team 2 days per week (14 hours).

Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

The Volunteer Manager role is responsible for recruiting, engaging and deploying volunteers into a wide variety of roles across the charity.

• Work with the Warehouse Manager and Food Distribution teams to support the recruitment journey and retention of volunteers. Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and working with our Communications and Fundraising team to develop a strategy for volunteers. Develop, coordinate, and engage a network of around 150 active volunteers. Book and signpost volunteers to relevant and engaging volunteer training sessions. Work with the Warehouse Manager and Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering to resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints. Proactively liaise with the staff team to determine volunteer requirements, select volunteers for the right roles and match them to the right people, considering preferences and restrictions on both sides. Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate. Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and develop a Dementia Service that was launched at Age UK Westminster in 2022. Offering a weekly community-based Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy group that provides a vital contribution to living well with dementia and a monthly Memory Cafe, we are looking for someone with the knowledge, skills, experience and passion to ensure that more residents can benefit from this Service. 

We’re looking for two self-starting team members who will help coordinate our JUMP befriending project for unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees.

You’ll be responsible for half of the befriending pairs (currently 28, increasing to 50 in the coming months) and undertake tasks such as working with our partner organisations, managing referrals for young people, recruiting volunteer befrienders, and setting-up and sustaining pairs. This includes leading an initial training day.

You’ll also provide JUMP young people with casework support, help organise our group events and facilitate support from our Hardship Fund.

Main functions

Supporting young people and the JUMP Community

1. Managing a caseload of young people; including offering casework support; arranging and attending appointments with the young person where necessary and signposting to available support.
2. Helping plan and organise quarterly group events.
3. Conducting initial assessments with young people to understand their needs, and once paired with a volunteer, hosting befriending initial meetings.

 Supervising and supporting volunteers

1. Recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new befrienders, including organising and delivering training.
2. Supporting befriending volunteers through regular supervisions, meetings, emails and phone calls, and responding promptly to any safeguarding concerns raised.
3. Ensuring that volunteers uphold JUMP’s policies and boundaries for befriending.

Publicising JUMP, and engaging with key stakeholders

1. Publicising the project to existing and potential referral agencies, and establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with them.
2. Representing HIAS+JCORE and JUMP in the refugee sector as required, for example at the Refugee and Migrant Children’s Consortium (RMCC) meetings.

Project monitoring, evaluation and record keeping

1. Working with experts and the JUMP Project Manager on supporting the project and its evaluation, and keeping accurate records in JUMP’s database.
