The Community Fundraiser plays a vital role in fostering and expanding our network of individual givers and community fundraisers. The position is responsible for:

• Developing and managing relationships with our supporters.
• Signing SafeLives up to a programme of fundraising events.
• Maintaining and growing our supporter base.
• Responding to fundraising opportunities from individuals and corporates.

We will occasionally require you to support with organising events for our high-net-worth individuals. The role is managed by our Trusts and Grants Manager. It was a new role in 2022 and the successful candidate will build on the foundations that have been set over the last year and a half.

The ideal candidate will bring creativity and proactivity to the role – thinking outside the box and finding new ways to grow our supporter base and market our opportunities. About Media Trust

At Media Trust, we believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that we’ll get to a more equal society. Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical support and training to people affected by homelessness and addictions so they can rebuild their lives. SCT Progressions Programme 

1. Identifying SCT residents and students ready to pursue ETE opportunities: 

• Collaborate with SCT tutors and managers, particularly the Therapeutic Programme Manager and Supported Housing Manager, to identify those who may benefit from the support on offer. 

• Cultivate strong relationships with SCT’s social enterprises and shops to establish clear pathways for volunteering and trainee opportunities for those who access our services. 

• Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualised Progression Plans, and evaluate progress according to each person’s needs, strengths and aspirations, involving key internal and external partners as appropriate. 

1. Providing information, advice, and guidance regarding ETE opportunities:

Learning with Parents supports all families to have positive learning interactions together and leads the sector to learn what works in tackling inequality.

In partnership with 150 primary schools, we support families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. Our child-led videos and hands-on family activities replace traditional homework. Through behavioural insight research, innovative technology and teacher training, we ensure that as many families as possible are supported effectively.

We are working to improve parental engagement across the sector, by producing evidence of parents’ impact and generating insights into how schools can best support them. Learnings are disseminated through the Parental Engagement Forum and amplified through the Fair Education Alliance.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a School Partnership Officer to help us grow and extend the reach of our Learning with Parents programme. 

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across project management at a fast-paced education-tech charity. We are a small team, and the School Partnership Coordinator will play a key role in enabling us to deliver our programme strategy.

Core areas of responsibility

Programme support

• Assist the School Partnership Managers with support for the schools using our Reading Log, including having calls with those schools
• Collaborate with the Schools Team to help schools get started on the programme 
• Send reminders to schools on their next actions
• Update the schools database and organisations database with the relevant programme information
• Support the Schools Team to deliver timely tech support for both schools and parents using our programmes
• Support with pulling together school impact summaries
• Support with the invoicing and contracts for school partners, including supporting the Schools Team with ensuring school invoices are paid
• Support with any programme admin as directed by the school team. 

External communications

• Manage the general inbox for the charity
• Sort parent feedback comments and photos for marketing materials and impact summaries

• Process one-off and regular donations ensuring procedures are followed and information is recorded correctly onto the database and thank you letters are sent.
• Work with cancer centre volunteers to support the team with administration tasks.
• To undertake specific fundraising projects and attend events as necessary or as required to support the department’s fundraising.
• To assist the fundraisers with administration of staff lottery, raffles and prize led promotion and fundraising as required.
• Support all fundraising activity and represent the charity at internal and external events.
• Manage ‘Gift in Kind’ donations and our ‘Gift in Kind’ Campaigns.

Job Title: VAWG Advice and Advocacy Case Worker in at least one of the Community languages (Arabic, Kurdish Sorani and Farsi)

Duration: Fixed contract for 12 Months – subject to extension

Aims of the Position

To provide specialist and culturally competent support in mother tongue and to address the immediate and long-term needs of Kurdish, Middle Eastern and North African (KMENA) women who might be at risk or survivors of Domestic Abuse, Forced Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation and the so-called Honour-Based Abuse (Harmful Practices). To meet women’s needs through provisions of information, advice, and advocacy case work, as well as signposting and referrals to appropriate services.

Main Duties

➢ To receive initial referrals, identify and assess the needs of service usersin accordance with KMEWO’s Policies & Procedures for efficient and timely responses to their issues.

➢ To offer information, advice, and intersectional advocacy to KMENA women and girls who are affected by domestic Abuse and Harmful Practices.

➢ To carry out comprehensive risk assessments and draw safety plans for service users supporting them to access safe accommodation/refuge and referring them to specialist agencies if needed.

➢ To maintain accurate and up to date records, files, and case notes in accordance with KMEWO’s policies and procedures. 

➢ To gather statistics and data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, providing reports as required. ➢ To ensure that service users can access interpreting services when required.

➢ To work closely with partner agencies to manage risk appropriately, deliver coordinated and comprehensive support packages and to make appropriate referrals to other services as required.

➢ To be updated of developments and legislation around issues affecting service users.

➢ To develop skills by undertaking relevant training and self-development for a better understanding of issues faced by service users (Domestic Abuse and Harmful Practices)

➢ To comply with Aims and Values of KMEWO and its Equal Opportunities policy.

➢ To ensure the framework of quality standards set down by KMEWO and local authorities are maintained.

➢ To work with the VAWG Services Manager in developing Quality Systems to deliver service standards and improve on service performance.

Person Specification

Relevant experience:

➢ Proficiency in English and one (or more) community languages (Arabic, Kurdish and Farsi), both in writing and verbally. ➢ Experience in working within a community-based service.

➢ Experience in providing one to one support to individuals on one or more of the following issues: housing and homelessness, welfare benefits, domestic abuse and harmful practices, immigration, employment, and family issues. (Working with women on Violence Against Women and Girls will be highly desired).

➢ Experience in casework, case files recording and monitoring tools.

➢ Experience of providing support to people with complex needs.

➢ Good awareness about issues and barriers facing KMENA women living in the UK.

➢ Awareness of national policies relating to gender-based violence, housing and support services. Skills and abilities ➢ Being a good and efficient communicator in written and verbal English and or community language
