A national mental health charity providing a range of services across England including supported housing, crisis houses and residential homes as well as community-based services, employment support and social enterprises wants you to provide mental health crisis intervention and support to people using our services who are experiencing a psychiatric and or psychosocial crisis.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new service opening in Morecambe in March 2024. As a Waking Night Recovery Worker, you will work throughout the night to support those on placement. 

Our aim is to support the people using our services to achieve their own goals. To ensure the safe and successful daily running of the service and ensure that you, and your team, work towards agreed service/contract targets. 

The people we support are central to everything we do. Each person who uses our services is a unique individual and they all deserve to be treated as such. As such, the responsibilities may vary from day to day.

As a Waking Night Recovery Worker, you will liaise with clinical teams to discuss referrals and clinical presentation of people using services and make referral decisions based on this. Support individuals who present in a range of ways, including low mood, depression, anxiety, mania, voice hearing, delusions, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts to develop their own coping strategies to deal with crisis situations. Participate in a group work programme to assist people using services to deal with substance abuse, mental or physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse.

What is important is that you have a caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team and willing to be part of a weekly rota system and available for on call duties.

Your challenge will be to provide a high-level service to the HMP Oakwood Future Skills Programme and become integrated with local 3rd sector organisations and other organisations that accept the client group. You will also be part of a comprehensive Skills and Training service delivered across St Giles Trust that’s mindful of, and promotes, the organisation’s Vision, Mission, Values and strategic aims.

Day-to-day, we will look to you to maximise employer relationships whilst identifying and developing business opportunities with existing and new employers/clients. What we are looking for

• Experience of working with socially excluded adults, managing a caseload, achieving individual set targets for employment outcomes and supporting colleagues to achieve overall project targets
• Substantial experience of working with organisations to increase employment
• A proven ability to work to high standards of evaluation processes, an understanding of current labour market trends and knowledge of employment rights and contract types
• Awareness of Matrix standards and the ability to implement quality assurance measures
• Knowledge of anti-discriminatory working practices and its implications within the working environment
• Strong IT skills, including proven experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to work with case-management databases (i.e. Salesforce) on a day-to-day basis

Successful candidates must undergo an Enhanced DBS check, on the basis that the post involves contact with vulnerable participants and colleagues.

As our Beyond the Gate Caseworker, you will provide a community-based service that engages, motivates and facilitates those on license to make progress, through a range of one-to-one sessions, group activities, training and supportive measures.  You will work with your caseload of clients to produce individual action plans that support them to overcome social inclusion barriers, including housing, substance misuse, relationships, training, employment, finance debt and benefit, and deliver a range of planned custody and community assessments and interventions that keep clients engaged, motivated, and making progress.

We will also count on you to ensure all immediate appointments on release are attended such as probation, mental health, housing and substance misuse, and the delivery of small group activities based on need, including tenancy management, emotional wellbeing, shopping on a budget.  Liaising constructively with HM Prison Service and Probation personnel to share updates and completing referrals into services as soon as possible after release and map out a support plan for this are also both key aspects of the role, as are working flexibly, covering absences for colleagues, and supporting the delivery lead.

What we are looking for

• Proven track record of supporting ex-offenders 
• Qualification in Advice and Guidance or equivalent, to at least Level 3
• A sound understanding of the issues faced by the client group, such as housing, debt, substance misuse, mental health
• Excellent administrative and case management skills
• The ability to assess participants’ needs and provide client led support
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

Princess Court is a 24-hour Mental Health Supported Housing Service that provides a person-centred holistic approach to promote the recovery of the people who live here and help them regain their independence. The individuals entering the service have high-level support and care needs that can include serious mental illness and/or a history of substance misuse.

Our role is to support them, identify and meet their diverse needs and help them on their personalised recovery journey.

This challenging front line role comes with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, contracts, staff and building maintenance. As well as ensuring the very best delivery and offering direct employment support to Service Users, you’ll be responsible for promoting the service and managing all referrals. Line managing and provide supervision to front-line staff, providing individual and group support sessions to Service Users, ensuring data entry to MI & reporting systems is accurate and timely, and taking responsibility for the service budget – these are just some aspects of this varied and vital leadership role.

To succeed, you’ll need a proven relevant background that includes experience of managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs and, ideally, an understanding of the CQC Framework. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CQSW, CIOH, RMN) would be useful too, as would experience of carrying out investigations and writing reports and recommendations and managing a budget. • Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people

Right now, we are looking for a Peer Support Worker to join the team in Surrey. 

The Wingfield Resource Centre currently provides support for individuals experiencing mental health crisis or who require preventative support. We operate 365 days a year from 6pm to 11pm. Our Peer Support service will offer both intensive and low key peer support services. You will support people who are going through a difficult time, by sharing your experiences, helping them discover the strengths and developing skills that will lead to wellness. But it's only possible with the help of people like you. 

Day-to-day, you’ll work with the support staff, mental health nurses and the people who use our services to develop an inclusive and effective peer support service, offering individual and group support. You will help to contribute to the development of organisational policies, procedures, protocols, systems and guidance to underpin the provision of peer support across the service. Identifying and undertaking training programmes, promoting the service to stakeholders and operating within a fully compliant service to agreed budgets – all are part and parcel of this challenging role.

To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of the recovery and personalisation agenda and the principles and practice on which mental health services are run. You must be able to liaise and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues. You will be well-organised and self-motivated; good problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, as is an innate ability to cope with personal stress.

Location: Community Based in the London Borough of Hounslow, flexible within North-West London with some homeworking elements. 
 
Salary: £22,789 - £24,177, Home working and London Allowance (FTE) to be Pro Rata'd for 21 hours.

About the role

This role is part of our London Borough of Hounslow team, reporting to the Local Services Manager, working alongside an experienced team of Dementia Advisers and supported by Volunteers. Volunteer role management is a key responsibility.

You will co-ordinate, organise and facilitate the successful and safe provision of our services that are delivered in a group setting, including Singing for the Brain, Dementia Cafés and Peer Support Groups, across the Borough.  

Our service delivery is both virtual and face to face, with a strong emphasis on community outreach and engagement. We particularly welcome applications from people who are representative of the communities we serve.

This is a home-based role, with frequent travel to community venues within the Borough. Expenses are paid for travel.  

About you

This is a very rewarding front-line role that makes a real difference to the lives of people living with dementia. You will be working across a large and diverse community and will have the ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people and adapt to different settings.

- We are looking for someone with strong communication skills who will help us to expand our reach and hold relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will need to demonstrate an understanding of dementia and the impact that it has on people’s lives. You will have the confidence to work independently, facilitating groups of people in community settings and managing volunteers. 
- Experience of supporting similar groups, leading and co-ordinating person-centred engagement and activities, is highly desirable. The ability to travel independently within the Borough is essential.

Windsor Road is a registered CQC residential care home which offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health. We offer individual one-to-one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days.  We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.
 
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. 

Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to achieve independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a person-centred support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations, as part of your key worker role. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work or volunteering or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
 
Care home, mental health support or social care experience is preferred and you will be required to administer medication and complete a medication qualification and the care certificate. Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. Brendan House is a 24-hour, nonclinical, Short Term Crises Intervention Service. The service provides accommodation for a period of up to six nights, for those with mild to medium mental health problems, who are experiencing a mental health crisis that requires a safe and supportive place to stay, in order to avoid admission to hospital or A&E.  We provide 1-1 daily Support Sessions which are designed to help individuals to work through the period of Crises, identifying relevant coping strategies with professional support, with the view of maintaining wellbeing.
