The Volunteer, Engagement & Development Manager will sit within our leadership team structure and work proactively with colleagues across CABB, holding primary responsibility for the following key areas:
- Lead on the review, development and implementation of our volunteering programme, while ensuring the inclusion, engagement, diversity, impact and value of volunteers is recognised and celebrated.
- Provide line management to a small team of paid staff who work closely with and support our volunteers and engagement areas of the service.
The postholder will be a dedicated, flexible and quality focused individual who is able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Education Programmes and Partnerships Lead
The organisation has received an exciting round of funding that is allowing it to offer training and resources for free to schools in Bradford.
We are looking for a creative and driven individual who is passionate about the power of stories to improve children’s wellbeing and has a good understanding of children’s wellbeing and literacy.
Position: Education Lead
Location: Remote (frequent travel to support schools in Bradford, so you must live within a commutable distance of the area)
Hours: Full time (possibility to negotiate a flexible contract such as 4 day a week role or term-time working)
Salary: £33,500 - £40,000 per annum pro rata dependent on experience
Contract: Fixed term until summer 2026, with the possibility of extension if further funding is secured
Benefits: 5% pension contribution, 27 days holiday (rising by 1 day per year of employment) plus bank holidays.

The Role
You will be joining a social enterprise that provides teachers with training and resources so they can use popular, diverse and engaging stories to teach children skills that will help improve their wellbeing whilst enhancing their literacy.
This is a small organisation, so we are looking for someone who is excited about the job description, but who is also interested in learning more about all aspects of running a social enterprise and keen to support the strategy and growth beyond their job role.
Key responsibilities include:
Story Project Training and School Partnerships
· Effectively represent and promote the organisation to school leaders, teachers and other stakeholders.
· Ensure a smooth initial launch of the Project in every school.
· Organise and conduct training for schools.
· Through regular visits to and network meetings with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed.

· As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join the programme
Story Project Programme Development
· Oversee the curriculum, making sure resources are up to date.

· Oversee the creation of new resources on topics that can further support children’s wellbeing.
About You
You will be passionate about all aspects of running a social enterprise and keen to support the strategy and growth beyond your own job. You will have experience of providing engaging and impactful training sessions, with a creative approach to planning resources. A highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, you will have a proven track record of leading projects in education or a related field and experience of building effective relationships and stakeholder management.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will assess referred clients, with reference to St Giles Trust assessment practices, and produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process. You will be expected to deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates, providing practical help such as social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work and debt advice.
We will also rely on you to develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies, ensuring a steady flow of appropriate referrals onto the scheme, and with regional agencies, including police and social services. Closing cases efficiently and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for on-going support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future, is also an essential aspect of this role.
What we are looking for
- To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of Bradford
- Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project

The role is primarily providing person-centred support for people affected by dementia. You will be the first point of contact, providing information about our services and sign posting to other organisations offering support across the area. You will triage referrals for our local Dementia Support Service and work closely with our community-based Dementia Advisers to ensure people affected by dementia are well informed and well supported. Alzheimer’s Society secured grant funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver community development in Swindon; as part of this you will promote Dementia awareness with a specific aim to reduce inequalities and reach those with protected characteristics, or people experiencing multiple deprivations. Why Access Social Care Exists
Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.
What we do
Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need.
We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework. We operate our casework service mainly under a membership model where organisations involved in the social care sector contract with Access Social Care to provide legal assistance to their clients.

About the role
As we move into 2024, Access Social Care is launching a new workstream aimed at training more experts in community care law. To achieve our aims, we will be developing learning and development programmes for internal and external use. We are looking for an experienced learning and development professional to lead this programme of work.
We want you to:
- Oversee the development and delivery online and in person training on the Care Act 2014 and associated legislation, regulations, guidance and caselaw. We already have some training materials in-house, but you will need to expand and develop these for different audiences (carers, social care providers, advocates, advisers and caseworkers).
- Work with external stakeholders at academic institutions to develop degree/diploma level learning modules.
- Work closely with others at ASC and play a key role in developing the skills and knowledge of our trainee caseworkers and other new staff.
- Work alongside the Head of Business Development to develop a learning and development income stream.
Responsibilities
1. Project management of the Access Social Care learning and development offer: Working with internal and external stakeholders and using project management tools and software you will drive the project forwards ensuring milestones and deadlines are met, delivering reports
2. Content and resources development: Work closely with our Head of Digital Content, Product Manager and legal team members to develop training materials for use online and in person on the Care Act which enable people with different starting points to understand the rights of social care users, to enforce those rights, and to understand the responsibilities of social care providers and local authorities.
3. External training strategy development. Work with the Head of Business development to develop an income stream from learning and development.
4. Training delivery: Deliver training internally and externally, online and in person, using a variety of training techniques, and tailored materials to engage different audiences with different immediate purposes.
5. Intelligence gathering: Contribute to our understanding of systemic problems in the social care and community care law systems, feeding back to legal colleagues' issues that are brought up in training session.
6. General tasks: Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required or asked of you in order to respond to organisational needs and specifically needs within the legal team.

The Role
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the leadership team of a specialist charity for children and adults subjected to sexual violence and sexual abuse. You will be responsible for supporting the Chief Executive in meeting strategic objectives surrounding the provision of compassionate, timely and trauma-informed CYP counselling and wellbeing support; establishing and nurturing supportive relationships with partner CYP organisations; supporting the team in collective care to grow, flourish and develop in their roles and continue leading the charity as a reflective and responsive organisation. About the team
The team will be made up of six Navigators based across the City of Manchester, as well as a Peer Coordinator. You will hold your own caseload, supported by the Team Leader. You will work alongside Navigators who are based within partner organisations at the Big Life Group and Back on Track, as well as a team of peer volunteers. The service will provide Early Help Support for Adults facing multiple disadvantages via the ‘Bringing Service Together for People in Places’ (BST PiP) programme in Manchester and the national Changing Futures programme. Your role will be to work directly with adults and liaise with linked agencies and services in the community to improve outcomes. Your collaborative, trauma-responsive and person-centred approach will be key to achieving this. You will identify blocks and barriers within existing systems and find solutions to make wider and transformational change locally. We put the involvement of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantages at the heart of delivering this service and in co-production of future delivery.
About you
You will need experience of frontline services, supporting adults from diverse backgrounds with multiple and complex needs and/or multiple disadvantages. About The Team
Shelter’s Legal Team provide legal expertise and representation across our Services. You will be part of our National Legal Team and will work closely with our Telephone and Online Advice Service (TOAS) to identify trends in issues experienced by people using the service.
About the role
Your role will be to work within the National Legal Team to support the TOAS team to recognise vulnerable clients who need urgent legal help, at the sharpest end of the housing crisis, struggling to advocate for themselves in appalling housing conditions or stuck in temporary accommodation.
Your role will be to provide legal early intervention to clients and families who have safeguarding concerns.
You will act on a consultancy basis for TOAS and provide advice and legal representation on behalf of the client and/or their family, authorising and arranging temporary accommodation and any associated hardship claims. Should a safeguarding referral be made, you will follow up on those referrals to ensure that the appropriate outcome is achieved.
You will also be supported to work with relevant stakeholders to address systemic matters that contribute to homelessness and advocate for systematic change to break the cycle for other vulnerable clients and their families.
About You
Qualified as a Solicitor, you will have a strong knowledge of housing law and be used to managing your caseload including time recording. You will need to meet the Housing/Debt Supervisor standard and have demonstrable experience in litigation and court advocacy, carry out file reviews and be proactive about your professional development and continuous improvement.
