A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health, Safety and Property Facilitator within the Care, Quality and Governance Team. This is an exciting role that will play a key part in the delivery of Cranstoun’s Quality and Governance strategy.

As Health, Safety and Property Facilitator, you will support the Health, Safety and Property Manager in providing high quality and comprehensive health and safety support to the organisation.

You will support safety and compliance communication, advise team members on health and safety policies and processes, promote a culture of best practice, help to deliver health and safety objectives and facilitate compliance with relevant legislation and Cranstoun policies. 

You will also be a strong role model of the Cranstoun values: ambitious, creative, compassionate, collaborative and respectful. You will have the ability to self-manage and work independently without close supervision.

It is essential that you have excellent IT skills, in particular the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).

Experience of working within the health and social care sector would be advantageous.

Support and development officer – North East, North West, or Northern Ireland

In 2023 Re-engage launched a new five-year strategy with growth at its heart. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a support and development officer (SDO) and be a vital part of this exciting phase of our development. 

You'll report to the support team manager within the service delivery team you'll be working closely with other SDOs and engagement officers (EOs).  We'll support and develop you in the role but we need you to be: 

· Committed to engaging and empowering volunteers and older people. 

· Experienced in using a CRM system to capture, store, and retrieve information on all stakeholders. 

· Solution focused and committed to using technology to find solutions and to improve performance. 

· A skilled and confident communicator able to engage on the phone with people of all ages. 

· Familiar with working in a fast-paced environment with experience of working to deadlines and meeting performance related targets. 

Key responsibilities 

· Matching older people and volunteers into Re-engage service.

· Supporting volunteer and older people in your region. 

· Collaborating with colleagues to identify applicants for volunteer roles or older people referrals. 

· You’ll also be part of the team which responds to phone and email enquiries and that provides high quality support to older people and volunteers. 

This role will require an enhanced criminal record check. 

About you 

Essential 

· Experienced user of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Dynamics or equivalent systems.  

· Enthusiastic about using technology to improve the volunteer and older person experience and to improve performance. 

· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills. 

· A desire to learn, adjust and adapt to constructive feedback. 

· Organised and has a methodical approach to work and excellent time management.  

· Initiative-taking, able to take responsibility for own performance and to demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure to meet targets.

· Strong understanding of the importance of record-keeping and CRM systems.  

· Strong understanding of the importance of brand and commitment to the brand guidelines.    

· Clear understanding of safeguarding systems and processes, confidentiality, and GDPR implications when working with volunteers and older people.

Desirable 

· Empathy with, and interested in learning about loneliness, social isolation, and factors that impact the ageing population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality information and support in an empathetic and professional manner.
• Conduct a holistic needs assessments for each service user according to their individual circumstances
• Working with each service user to establish the most appropriate sources of support, and agree an action/support plan with them
• Provide a face to face service when there is an over-riding need to do so by visiting service users
• Collaborate with other agencies/service providers who can offer additional support options
• Liaise with partners, ensuring that agreed actions are followed up
• Log and communicate details of cases in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that records are up to date and the wider team has the information they need to provide support.
• Explore, assess and escalate any safeguarding concerns according to the RABI safeguarding policy.
• Contribute constructively to the development of the Service Provision team and function, for the benefit of service users.
• Work constructively and collaboratively to solve problems with the support of colleagues.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Experience providing services to vulnerable service users, listening and supporting in a non-judgemental way.
• Knowledge and insight into state benefits and complementary support services (whether national / local / statutory agencies.
• Excellent communication skills, being able to establish rapport and build trust quickly. 
• The ability to build a practical plan alongside a service user and adapt approach to different circumstances and personalities.
• Knowledge of data protection principles and how to apply them.
• Knowledge or experience of safeguarding best practice.
• Knowledge and insight into complementary support services (whether national / local / statutory agencies).
• Excellent IT software skills and aptitude to adapt to new systems and processes.
• Flexible, resilient and solution focussed working with sensitivity and integrity.
• Collaborative, constructive, and solution-focussed
• Ability to work flexibly, depending on the needs of the team and of service users.

Desirable

• Farming background or knowledge of the farming community environment. 
• Experience providing support remotely.
• Relevant qualifications in health and social care

Other

Use of own car, ability to travel to support service users / attend meetings.
