We are looking to recruit a permanent multi-skilled advocate, working 37 hours per week, to join our busy and dynamic Kent, London & Sussex multi- disciplinary team, starting salary £23,314 per annum.

What we need from you
We are looking for someone with the creativity and enthusiasm to support people in difficult circumstances, ideally with experience in a health or social care. If you haven’t got advocacy qualifications it’s not a problem, we will provide the required training. You’ll be mainly working from home but will also need to engage with your colleagues and external people in a variety of community settings and via MS Teams.
As this role is home based with regular travel across the region, you must have access to both a stable home broadband service, a clean driving licence and your own transport as well as flexibility with working hours. We also need you to live either in Kent or surrounding counties.

Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond to referrals and work flexibly to reach London’s most vulnerable. We are looking for an Assistant Support Workers to join the Street Outreach Rough Sleepers Team

You will:
- Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping in the borough
- Work alongside senior colleagues to identify the fastest and most appropriate route away from the streets for the people that we are working with
- Provide direct support to people who are found rough sleeping to enable them to move away from the streets and into accommodation
- Maintain and support relationships with partner agencies
- Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for a self-confident and energetic individual with a good understanding of gambling, substance misuse and health related issues, to provide a vital support service for individuals with gambling related needs.
Working flexibly across the community and within multi-agency partnership settings on an outreach basis, we’ll rely on you to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach. A core part of the role will involve addressing holistic support needs that could include employment related issues, family work interventions, issues of exploitation, physical and emotional health, domestic abuse and support to engage in rehabilitation. Whatever it takes, in fact, to empower them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
To succeed, you’ll need significant experience of engaging effectively with clients in an addictions or social care setting. You’ll also need knowledge of primary, secondary and other outreach settings and a good understanding of the functional model. Used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals, you have a flexible approach and lots of initiative. You also have good IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office) and are willing to travel throughout the area in order to get the job done.
You will hold a caseload of complex cases requiring a case co-ordination approach. Requiring you to complete all recording and case management administration for your caseload accurately and promptly,
- Providing screening, co-produced assessment, psychosocial interventions, integrated and outcome focussed care planning, after-care support, and onward transition to other services as required

You will be assisting with sometimes complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlining needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary, either by beginning a casework referral, referring to another service within SSAFA or making an external referral to organisations better able to offer support. You will also have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. At all times you will adhere to the safeguarding, confidentiality, and data-protection policies, including escalation to emergency services for clients where there are immediate areas of concern.
To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA and will influence the processes and procedures within the office, working closely with the Regional Casework Manager and Regional Operations Manager.
The post is home-based, but you may have to travel occasionally around the Northwest Region of England.
About the team
In this new role you will be working closely with volunteers from the six SSAFA branches in the Northwest, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger support team which will include a Casework Manager and a Regional Operational Manager.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR, along with experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families, along with supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the North West.

Right now, our Bedfordshire Young People’s service is looking for a Complex Needs Practitioner to join the team. This role will be in partnership with Bedfordshire Youth Offending Service and will require some co-location from the Youth Offending Offices around Bedfordshire to be an integral part of both teams.
Your challenge? To provide information and advice, brief interventions and long term structured support to young people who are using drugs and alcohol or being impacted by someone else’s use. You will be conducting assessments, risk assessments, care-planning and working directly with other services such as schools, social care, health provisions, alternative education providers and mental health services.The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies both face to face, email and via telephone.
An energetic and confident self-starter, you will be required to hold a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. You will have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality, excellent record keeping and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Shelter Sheffield provide housing advice and support to people across the city with a focus on emergency homelessness, intensive support for children and families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people with multiple and complex needs. Windsor Road service offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health. We are a CQC registered residential care home. We offer individual one to one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days. We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to achieve independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a person-centred support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations, as part of your key worker role. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work or volunteering or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
Care home, mental health support or social care experience is preferred. You will be required to administer medication and complete a medication qualification and the care certificate. Candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. More important is your caring and compassionate nature and empathy and enthusiasm for helping others. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be happy to work both independently and within a team and willing to be part of a weekly rota system and available for on call duties as well as completing sleep in shifts.
