The Finance and Operations Manager is a key member of Tara Theatre’s team, overseeing the company operations and financial processes. They work alongside a Freelance Finance Director and the Executive Director.
Tara Theatre is a company limited by guarantee, and a charity. It has two trading subsidiaries, Tara Productions and Tara Enterprises. We currently have an annual turnover of circa £1 million.
We manage our finances and payroll in-house, using Sage accounting system.

A new opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Business Management graduate to work on an exciting project with Peterborough based, Landmark Theatres Ltd, and Anglia Ruskin University.
You’ll lead this management focussed KTP project which will strengthen Landmark Theatres’ existing business acumen, finance management and leadership by introducing innovation, development and change management. You will establish a systemised approach to fundraising across senior leadership, establishing a model of shared responsibility for organisational funding development. You’ll be a change driver who is able to embed yourself effectively in an organisation that is values driven, entrepreneurial, fast moving and opportunistic.
Employed by the University, you will be based at Landmark Theatre’s premises in Peterborough supported by a senior company manager alongside regular supervision from the University’s academic team.

The addition of sheltered accommodation offers the opportunity for us to extend the length of care and support that we are able to offer members of the arts professions whom we exist to serve.

We have the plans and all the necessary planning permission for what we anticipate will be a very successful and high-profile £12m capital appeal. Already we have support promised from some of the UK’s house-hold names and are hopeful that we will also receive support from trusts and foundations dedicated to the support of the arts.
All that is needed now is an Appeal Director to deliver on all the promise that exists and that will leave a last legacy for both Denville Hall for the next 100 years as we will celebrate our centenary in 2026.

Purpose of the Financial and Management Accountant role is to:
We are seeking to appoint a Financial and Management Accountant for the Museum’s trading company (RAFMEL), as part of a small finance team for the Museum and RAFMEL. The profits of RAFMEL are gifted to the RAF Museum to enhance our visitor experience, improve our facilities, and help us inspire everyone with the RAF story.
Key responsibilities of our Financial and Management Accountant will include:
- Responsibility for preparation and first review of monthly management accounts (including income and expenditure statement, balance sheet, cashflow statement, funds summary, salary summary) and performance reports for RAFMEL, in an accurate and timely fashion, including any associated commentary and key performance indicators (KPI).
- The analysis and interpretation of financial and business data to support budget-holders as required during the monthly operations and during the annual budget-setting process
- Acting as business partner to the RAFMEL commercial teams, providing commercial analysis to support decision-making
- Closing the monthly books through to preparation of monthly management accounts, including notes and commentary
- Preparation of the first draft year-end financial statements
- Reconciliation of daily takings sheets reports from both sites and accurate monthly reporting of income by activity
- Preparation and posting of all journals for RAFMEL, such as accruals, prepayments deferred income, salaries and payroll, intercompany transactions
- Maintenance of Business Intelligence system in Sage200
- Maintaining appropriate financial records and ensuring prior year files are archived at least annually

The Head of Marketing & Commercial has overall responsibility for the Trust’s marketing, room and site hire, and events. They ensure a continual public programme, commercial events and marketing efforts for year-round activities are in line with the vision and strategic plan, and that income targets are met, working in collaboration with the Finance and Programming Committee of the Board.
You will be responsible for:
1) The effective marketing and communication of all activities at the Trust.
2) Managing the hire of our rooms and grounds for events, weddings, celebrations and corporate use.
3) Overseeing the production and delivery of projects and programmes to highlight the assets in our care, leading to audience growth on site and meaningful engagement primarily across the Royal Borough.
4) Seeking potential funding for activities.

Commercial: Hire and events programming
14. Manage the Venue Sales Manager and Bookings Co-ordinator to develop and deliver the Trust’s activities programme to generate maximum profit from hire of the estate for functions, filming, community use.
15. Trial and deliver new approaches to income generating activity and events.
16. Develop a paid for programme of activity that provides access to the heritage in our care to new audiences, including the development, implementation, monitoring, impact and overall success of the programme.
17. Ensure all programming delivers significant Return on Investment where external grant funding is not available, supporting the income generation targets of the Trust.
General

· Promotion and Outreach: Foster the visibility of AMUSF among upholsterers, soft furnishers, and the broader public. Implement strategic marketing initiatives to establish AMUSF membership as a hallmark of professional competence.
· Digital Presence: Oversee the maintenance of the website and member database, ensuring they are consistently updated. Manage the distribution of monthly newsletters, maintaining relevance and quality.
· Development Initiatives: Proactively identify and implement strategies for the continuous development of AMUSF, considering improved services, effective communication, and advocacy opportunities. Establish a strong connection with members through visits and collaborative efforts.
· Membership Acquisition and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement efficient systems for handling inquiries from prospective members. Drive membership acquisition with the aim to double membership in the next 2 years. Oversee the assessment of new and existing members, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
· Complaints Management: Take charge of the complaints system, ensuring timely responses, informal resolutions, and formal assessments when necessary. Navigate diplomatically through communication with both complainants and members.
· Training provision: Collaborate closely with the Director of Training to support and maintain the training centre qualification system as well as the training assessment process ensuring alignment with our high standards.
· Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations, including task delegation and handling of routine activities. This role is supported by an administrative position.
· Committee Participation and Board Management: Actively participate in relevant committee meetings, evaluating the ongoing value of AMUSF's representation. Serve as the secretary to the Board, ensuring efficient organization and follow-up actions.
· Event Coordination: Arrange and oversee the Annual General Meeting and Ordinary General Meeting, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Overview
The National Paralympic Heritage Trust (NPHT) has embarked on a new exciting 5-year Strategy – ‘Becoming Seamlessly Inclusive 2023-2028’. To help us on this journey this is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Trust’s Team Diversity Officer a central and key role to the 5-year strategy and as such our operation and success. We are looking for a superbly organised, self-motivated, people-led person with a commitment to inclusion and supporting diversity within the team and ideally interested in sport and heritage.
The NPHT is a young dynamic and diverse organisation, and a leader in accessible heritage. Over our first 5 years we reached over half a million people with the ambition to reach a million over the next five years through our exciting digitally strong business plan, with support from several major heritage funders including the Arts Council England as an NPO, National Lottery Heritage Fund, Rothschild Foundation, Museums Association Esmee Fairbairn, Wolfson Foundation, Art Fund and Garfield Weston.
Role of the Team Diversity Officer
Overall
- To support diversity development and 'Power to the Peoples Framework' across the work of the Trust.
- To oversee volunteering, work placements, Access to Work plus schemes and act as a work coach to two neurodiverse trainees.
Key Responsibilities
- To oversee the volunteer programme with support from the Head of Programmes.
- To manage the access to work programmes.
- To act as work coach to the trainees in accordance with the Access to Work programmes, ensuring they deliver their work plans and have the support they require to deliver them.
- To support the Learning Manager and Collections Engagement Officer with the provision of volunteers for their programmes of work.
- To support the work placements programme and individuals completing them by planning out the work in liaison across the team and helping the Head of Programmes carry out the work.
- To support the Trust’s community board.
- To support other programmes of work as directed.
Meetings and reporting
- The Team Diversity Officer will be employed by the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and be responsible to the Board of Trustees.
- The Team Diversity Officer will report to, be managed and supported by the Head of Programmes.
- The Team Diversity Officer will have monthly meetings with the Head of Programmes reporting on progress and raising any areas of concern.
- Either party may, by written notice to the other, require the holding of a special meeting to discuss any matter of urgency or exceptional importance relating to this agreement.
Period of Contract
March 2024 to end of February 2026.
Contract fee/pay
- The proposed fee is £25,000 a year Pro rata 3 days a week (24 hours).
- In addition to the payment outlined above the Team Diversity Officer will be paid reasonable agreed expenses incurred subject to the supply of receipts/travel expense claim and a stakeholder pension.
