We are seeking an experienced and values-led Director of Supported Housing to join our Executive Team and lead our resident-led housing services for young people aged 16-25. This is a strategically important leadership role with responsibility for supported housing, safeguarding, asset management, service quality and housing growth across a complex and evolving operational landscape.
You will bring visible leadership across services, strengthen partnerships with commissioners and local authorities, and help shape the future of housing support for young people across the region. Alongside this, you will help lead the organisation as a whole, contributing to long-term sustainability, growth and strategic direction.
This appointment is part of a wider strengthening of YMCA DLG’s Executive Team, alongside the recruitment of a second Director, as the organisation enters its next phase of growth and impact. Head of Human Resources
Could you confidently manage employee related issues including the creation and maintenance of an organisational culture that encourages staff to develop and succeed?
We are hiring for a Head of HR to join the team for a maternity cover contract (approx. 12 months).

Position: Head of Human Resources
Location: London
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £90,125.30 per annum plus travel to work allowance up to £3900 pa
Contract: Fixed term maternity cover of approx. 12 months (potentially up to 14 months depending on the return date of the substantive post holder)
Benefits: Contributory pension scheme; generous travel to work allowance; 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays per annum; café discount.

About the Role
This role involves preparing and maintaining an effective people strategy that exemplifies good HR practice in line with corporate business strategy and mission. Ultimately, this role will lead the HR operation of International Headquarters to ensure that all elements are delivered effectively and to a high standard, in line with IHQ’s strategy.
Candidates should note that this role is predominantly office based and there is an expectation of fully in-person attendance for this role for the first month in post, with the possibility to apply to work from home 1-2 days per week after this.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent) or demonstrable senior level HR expertise.
- Significant experience at senior HR leadership level, with responsibility for both strategic and operational HR delivery.
- Proven experience of developing, implementing and reviewing HR strategy aligned to organisational mission and values.
- Strong, practical knowledge of UK employment law, with experience interpreting legislation into policy and practice.
- Experience of working closely with senior leaders, boards or committees, providing professional HR advice and challenge.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate strategy into effective operational delivery.
- Excellent professional judgement, with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential and high-risk matters appropriately.
- Ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement and enhance employee experience.
