Caseworker

Forces Employment Charity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Caseworker to join our team working on the CFO (Co-financing Organisation) programme in partnership with the probation service. In this role, you will provide specialist support to veterans within the criminal justice system, focused on early intervention, support and diversion to prevent re-offending. You will work closely with probation staff, partner organisations and lead providers to identify, engage and deliver emotional and practical support to veteran clients.

This is a Full-time 35 hours per week, home based role with regular attendance at Lewisham and Croydon Activity Hubs and frequent travel throughout the UK. This role has a salary £29,000 pa.

This will be a fixed term contract till 31 July 2024.

For the CFO programme, Forces Employment Charity is working in partnership with probation service staff and other partner organisations to provide specialist support for veterans in the justice system.This support is focused on early intervention, support and diversion at point of contact with justice system in order to prevent re-offending.

The successful applicant will be providing activities and support to clients within a formal contractual framework working to challenging targets.The role holder will need a strong beneficiary focus and the ability to rapidly form relationships with partners and local agencies.

• Work with partners to identify and engage veterans with the CFO Programme.
• Undertake needs assessments with each veteran and jointly develop their support plan.
• Work as part of a team, together with Probation Service Staff and Lead Provider staff, was well as partner organisations providing specialist support.

Job Purpose & Background: 

CDP’s development team is ambitious, dynamic and at the heart of everything CDP does. As a Senior Manager, Philanthropy, you will focus on developing and managing strategic, high-value relationships with Trusts and Foundations. The Senior Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing a global fundraising strategy at a key time of organizational growth. Reporting directly to CDPs Head of Philanthropy, you are an independent thinker who can help grow and sustain grant funding from Trusts and Foundations.

You are the kind of person who gets out from behind your desk to meet people, influence and achieve long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. You’ll need to be determined, tenacious and focused on results.

Who you are

• Must reside and be eligible to work in the locations stipulated above.
• You have a proven ability to build and manage philanthropic donor income streams, maximising the value of existing and prospective supporters.
• You have a proven track record of relationship building to secure grants at seven figure and above level. 

• You have 5 or more years of fundraising experience, preferably with Foundations or High Net-Worth Individuals.
• You are able to understand diverse donor motivations and deliver a bespoke relationship to meet these and have demonstrable skill in adapting written and verbal communications for a philanthropy audience. 

• You have excellent face to face, interpersonal, negotiating and persuasive skills. 

• You are an effective communicator.
• You are confident working with senior stakeholders internally and externally, using tact and diplomacy. 

• You have extensive experience of bespoke proposal and report writing for a philanthropy audience. 

• You have excellent attention to detail, ability to analyse and prepare budgets. You are organised and methodical approach to plan and deliver against a varied workload, managing competing priorities under your own initiative and to strict deadlines.

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. 

You will build excellent external working relationships at all levels with donors, their staff and networks in order to directly influence their decisions.

You will build excellent internal working relationships to engage staff at all levels in supporting donor stewardship to manage prospective and existing donors effectively.

About You:
As our Senior Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our fundraising strategy. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to raise unrestricted income by engaging schools and workplaces to participate in Christmas Jumper Day and raise much-needed funds for children for 6 months of the year. For the other 6 months of the year, you will lead marketing and fundraising projects across Public Income and Engagement to drive us towards Save the Children's goal of raising £60 million by 2030.

You will also lead on the development of multi-channel marketing plans, with a focus on audience, to drive ambitious brand awareness, supporter action, income and loyalty targets including email, display, paid social, direct mail, TV, radio and out of home, across a range of engagement opportunities and propositions (legacies, regular giving, emergencies and mass participation)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team to attract and engage supporters to drive participation and income generation for Christmas Jumper Day.
• Lead the development of multi-channel marketing plans, with a focus on audience and insight.
• Lead the team's relationship with the media buying agency to buy and optimize media.
• Cultivate collaborative relationships with key partners such as marketing agencies, production companies, and fulfilment agencies, motivating and inspiring them to deliver their best for Save the Children.
• Inspire internal partners and colleagues to focus on raising money around the Christmas Jumper Day campaign.
• Manage team budgets and reporting.
• Support the Deputy Director of Public Income and Engagement to lead fundraising and marketing projects outside the Christmas Jumper Day campaign period.

Key Requirements:

• Significant experience in marketing, including developing complex and integrated multi-channel marketing plans, data analysis, and audience planning.
• Outstanding project management skills with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget.
• Extensive experience in effectively managing external partners, including working with media agencies, creative agencies, and fulfilment agencies.
• Experience in developing marketing assets to drive engagement and action.
• Experience in developing engaging supporter journeys across channels.
• Ability to provide technical leadership for the organization in delivering marketing across various media types.
• Experience in managing budgets.
• Strong numerical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze complex data for strategic decision-making.

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK. However, for this role, you will be required to work from our Farringdon Office in London on average 1 day a week. Travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.
