Project Officer – North Kensington Healthier Futures
Kensington & Chelsea Social Council (KCSC) works to strengthen and promote local voluntary and community organisations and the communities they work with.
The role leads on the day-to-day coordination of the North Kensington Healthier Futures Self-Care Programme; supporting design, implementation, monitoring and reporting. This self-care programme supports people affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
We are seeking a person with excellent project and contract management skills, as well as high levels of numeracy and literacy. The role requires strong ICT proficiency and good communication skills, both verbal and written. You will also have experience of working in a charitable or similar organisation and working in partnership with other voluntary and community organisations.

About you
We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years proven event management experience, with excellent written and oral communication skills and scrupulous attention to detail. The National Pro Bono Centre is dedicated to supporting the collaboration of the many and remarkable charities involved in the provision of pro bono legal advice and representation and access to justice. We look to provide central resources across the sector. Our work aims to support coordination, collaborative initiatives, cross-sector strategies, and innovation, for the benefit of all stakeholders in pro bono; helping individuals and communities all over England and Wales, whilst also ready to draw on and share models internationally.
What you'll be doing
We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for working with people and experience of co-ordinating events. You will be providing maternity leave cover while the Executive Director is on a short (four month) maternity leave. There will be a cross-over at the beginning of the contract and end of the contract with the Executive Director, who will also be available for monthly keeping in touch days while on maternity leave. You will be working alongside two Projects Managers and also get to know our dedicated and friendly board of trustees and freelance consultants. While the Executive Director is on maternity leave, you will report to Chair of Trustees of the NPBC. There are also two further Trustees available to provide support and guidance.
You will mainly be responsible for supporting two key events for the National Pro Bono Centre, which will take place in London:
- The Commercial Litigation Forum (CLF) reception, to be held in mid-October, and
- Pro Bono Week, which will be held from 4 to 8 November 2024.
For the CLF Reception, you will be working closely with the Board and Chair of the CLF and a small group of stakeholders to deliver a large-scale reception in London involving speeches and networking. For Pro Bono Week, you will be working with the Chair of Pro Bono Week and a committee to deliver two or three events during the week and provide support for others who will be organising events during that week.

Role of the Marketing and Communications Officer
Overall
We are seeking a person with marketing and communications expertise to help us build our audiences physically and virtually.
In this role you will:
- Lead on the delivery of key marketing objectives as set out in the marketing plan for 2023 to 2028.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the marketing and audience development plans in response to need and opportunity.
- Oversee the NPHT social media accounts including creating content and sharing this with their audiences online including LinkedIn and facebook adverts.
- Promote NPHT events and opportunities including uploading events to the website and researching opportunities to promote to relevant contacts.
- Writing publicity content including press releases, newsletters, e-invites, website copy, promotional banners, and leaflets.
- Write and create events listings on the NPHT website and other platforms.
- Monitoring and responding to feedback from the media and public about the NPHT.
- Report monthly on KPIs to the NPHT team and quarterly to the Board.
- Direct the wider team on areas where they support the marketing plan.
In order to deliver this work, you will have the following skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the proven ability to write and produce engaging communications for a range of channels and audiences. In particular meeting the access needs of our audience.
- Experience of developing, delivering, and evaluating marketing and communications activities to meet agreed objectives and audiences.
- Ability to create, plan and implement exciting social media campaigns.
- Ability to work proactively using own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines, with well-developed time management skills.
- Understanding of branding principles and application of these in communications and marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a wide range of people at all levels internally and externally.

Reporting requirements
You will be part of the overall NPHT team, liaising with other consultants especially the Digital Content Manager. You will report to the Head of Programmes, providing monthly updates.
Contractual arrangements
Office based with flexibility to work from home. This role can be contractual or employed.

About the Role
As Digital Communications Manager at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will:

As our New Product Marketing Manager, you will scale our innovative new product, Wonderbooks. As a marketing manager with a creative mindset and entrepreneur spirit, you will lead on the scaling of this unique subscription product. The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre. They offer patients the best cancer care available anywhere in the world, and continue to make a global contribution to finding better ways of diagnosing and treating cancer.
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust offers a hybrid working pattern, with an expectation of working from their Chelsea office 2 days per week, and travel to Sutton as required.
The Publications and Communications Officer will play a key role in helping the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity achieve its objectives. You will help raise awareness of the Charity within the hospital as well as locally, nationally, and internationally by demonstrating the difference the Charity makes to people affected by cancer, and support fundraising teams across all its income streams to attract and retain supporters. You will work directly with the hospital’s world leading clinicians to secure clinical spokespeople for the Charity’s communications and to help tell the story of how the Charity helps to save and improve the lives of people with cancer, not just at The Royal Marsden, but nationally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
· Build relationships with clinical colleagues and in particular, Charity-funded consultants, nurses, researchers, and allied health professionals to gain their support for Charity communications including press releases, tailored pitches, our suite of magazines, and other print media channels.
· Write and edit the Charity’s bi-monthly e-newsletter in collaboration with the wider PR and Comms team, and the Charity’s Marketing and Digital team.
· With support from the Senior PR and Communications Officer, write and edit the Charity’s supporter magazine Progress in collaboration with the wider Communications team and the Charity’s Heads and Associate Directors.
· In collaboration with the Trust Internal Communications Manager, promote The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to 4,500 hospital staff, to help drive greater awareness of the Charity and its work across the hospital.
· Support the Senior PR and Communications Officer in advising on PR and communications for the Charity’s corporate partners, including liaising with external PR agencies and partners’ in-house teams.
· Working alongside the Senior PR and Communications Officer, identify and maximise opportunities to promote the Charity’s funding of life-saving research, modern patient environments and state-of-the-art equipment in the hospital, working closely with colleagues to ensure any Charity funding is appropriately referenced.
Person Specification:
· Relevant media relations / copy writing / communications experience – former employment with a charity, ideally within the healthcare sector.
· Proven track record of delivering beautifully written, compelling copy across all online and offline channels, in the right tone and to deadline.
· Experience of working across multi-disciplinary teams encompassing all communications channels - social media, traditional and third sector media, internal communications.
