This role will lead on providing senior technical advice, leadership and guidance to the planning, delivery and monitoring of communications activities across the organisation.

The successful candidate will join our existing communications team and support our communications and engagement. This role will lead on providing senior technical advice, leadership and guidance to the planning, delivery and monitoring of communications activities across the organisation. This includes supporting on elements of our communication activities; newsletter creation, website maintenance, graphic design and social media.

We are looking for someone with a creative eye, good interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail who can communicate effectively. A key part of the role will involve exploring and implementing a data visualisation tool to efficiently monitor and review the reach and effectiveness of Action Hampshire’s communications (including social media platforms, newsletter, website hits and publication downloads, event attendance).

Key tasks include:

• Providing leadership enabling the delivery of high quality, impactful, engaging and informative content for the Action Hampshire website, newsletter and social media platforms
• Provide support and work with our Communications Officer and Communications Administrator to ensure we are alignment with our communications strategy
• Explore and implement a data visualisation tool to efficiently monitor and review the reach and effectiveness of Action Hampshire’s communications
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and build relationships with our members and users

Partnership and Digital Marketing Co-ordinator

Refugee Action Kingston exists to enable refugees and asylum seekers to succeed as integrated members of the local community. For over 30 years, we have achieved this mission by delivering a range of services including welfare, immigration and legal advice, education, counselling, and careers guidance.

We are looking for a Partnership and Digital Marketing Co-ordinator

Location:  Hybrid – remote/office in central Kingston

Hours:  Part-time – 21 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: £18,000 (£30,000 pro-rata)

Leave: 26 days per annum (pro-rata at 15.6 days) plus bank holidays

Contract: Fixed-Term Contract until March 2025

Reports to: Fundraising and Volunteer Manager

Over the next five years, we want to grow our reach, expand our capacity, and diversify our funding.  Our new Strategy is ambitious and exciting and will rely on strong networks, quality outcomes and excellent communication.  As part of that, we want to engage with small, medium & large businesses in and around Kingston, with a view of securing mutually beneficial partnerships, including donations, in-kind support and volunteering and job opportunities for our clients.

You will bring creative energy and a track record for generating partnerships alongside amazing digital marketing skills.  This role will suit someone who is self-driven, motivated by results and happy to manage their own workflow.  You will be passionate about supporting refugees and those seeking asylum and use that passion to establish and nurture connections.

You will seek to develop relationships that can be beneficial to our client’s journeys of integration including corporate volunteering or donations, employment and work placement opportunities. We are keen that employers have a good understanding of the positive impact people with a refugee experience can bring to their business.

Main Duties

• To develop relationships with corporates, SMEs and other relevant organisations through effective digital marketing
• To create a digital marketing campaign that generates partnerships and mutually beneficial relationships including job opportunities, work interviews, work experience and trials
• Tell the stories of our clients to educate employers and businesses as to the benefits of working with and supporting refugees and people seeking asylum
• Put together a digital marketing plan for the 12 months to ensure all networking, partnership targets are met
• Ensure the website is fit for purpose by updating content, working with colleagues to keep programme pages current and ensuring it complements the digital marketing activity
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to attract funding, corporate giving/donations/in-kind support aligned with the needs of client’s journeys of integration towards employment through effective content creation and social media activity
• Nurture relationships with corporate partners, organisations and businesses to assist in the creation of a refugee welcome working environment via effective digital marketing

You will

• Demonstrate an ability to generate key strategic/corporate or business networks through effective digital marketing
• Have a track record of engaging with key stakeholders to develop online support for our work and client community.
• Demonstrate an ability to create digital content, written and visual and have experience of using design tools and social media scheduling tools.
• Demonstrate an ability to grow a network of stakeholders, including using effective social media activity with corporate partners in terms of giving/sponsorship/donations
• Have a track record of delivering a project or campaign to targets and achieving positive outcomes
• Demonstrate an ability to be self-motivated, innovative and creative in your approach to starting a new project
• A strong understanding of services available and the needs of asylum seekers and refugees settling in the UK

Broxtowe Community Projects (BCP) is a small charity (registered number 1195969) based in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. We work across the geographical borough council area of Broxtowe (NG9 and NG16 postcodes) to alleviate poverty, isolation and hardship. This is an exciting year for BCP in terms of solidifying our growth and development, and this is where you come in! We are looking for an operations manager to help oversee our existing projects as well as those in development, along with ensuring smooth day-to-day operations remain smooth. Our ops manager will support our staff, admin, and volunteer team leaders to ensure they feel supported and empowered in their roles, The role will also undertake and ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of our funded projects so that we can maintain positive relationships with our current funders and confidently seek relationships with new funders.

You will be someone who is compassionate and has a real understanding and empathy around the determinants of poverty and you will want to make a tangible difference to peoples' lives. You will be a creative thinker, with excellent data analysis skills and a high emotional intelligence. You will be confident managing multiple projects and able to maintain focus on both the day-to-day running of our core projects, such as the foodbank, as well as implementing and overseeing shorter term and one-off funded projects.

You will be confident working with people across multiple levels of the organisation, including key stakeholders, and feel empowered to make suggestions and recommendations to our board of trustees. You will also be someone who is well organised, with good people skills, as well as willing to engage with service users and key partners in finding solutions to emerging issues effecting peoples' lives, such as the cost of living crisis.

Hours of work: 25 hours p/w. 15 hours from our offices minimum, the rest is flexible and can be worked from home by agreement. Pattern of work to be agreed but some flexibility will be required including evenings and occasional weekends to attend meetings and events. The postholder will be present for walk in sessions and social supermarket sessions.

Overall purpose of the post:
To manage the day-to-day running of this growing charity in Broxtowe and ensure its continued development, working proactively with the trustees to provide day-to-day operational coordination and implement agreed development initiatives.

To coordinate current projects, with a particular focus on the foodbank, and to establish additional services in accordance with community needs.

Principal duties:

• To promote the aims, objectives and values of BCP, primarily the development of a sustainable community.

• To provide effective supervision, management and oversight of the day to day administration of the charity, including HR/staff, maintenance of user data, arranging DBS checks and overseeing the implementation policies and procedures.

• To support and oversee the volunteer coordinator to manage a team of volunteers, providing them with ongoing training, support and opportunities.

• To support and oversee the admin assistant providing them with ongoing training and support 

• To develop and execute an effective communication strategy, creating promotional materials, press releases and maintaining the BCP Facebook and Instagram accounts.

• To oversee day to day financial controls in partnership with the treasurer

• To actively represent BCP at relevant meetings and events when required by the trustees.

• To oversee the day-to-day coordination of BCP resources. This will include acting as a key holder for BCP.

• To report regularly to the BCP trustees.

• To ensure safeguarding (children and vulnerable adults) is properly managed.

• To monitor changes in food safety regulations, keep accurate records in the safer food better business food management record and to effectively manage health and safety/food safety policies as required by the law and by instruction from the trustees.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Administrative skills including data storage, use of computer, Microsoft Office software and internet
• A can-do attitude with evidence of previous successful initiatives that have improved community facilities or the lives of residents in a local community
• Experience of managing budgets and preparing financial reports.

North Bristol & South Gloucestershire (NBSG) Foodbank has operated for 12 years, providing emergency food parcels to people in crisis in the local community. Recently, we have shifted our focus to go beyond food and try to tackle the root causes of food insecurity. One goal of our new strategy is to change minds, change policy and create empathy about poverty. The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for working towards this goal by delivering the Trussell Trust’s (TT) influencing and mobilising work during the General Election (GE). You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in the Bristol & South Gloucestershire area. Campaign Coordinators implement TT’s national GE strategy, by using Organising techniques to put pressure on Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) in each Combined Local Authority.

You will lead local community teams of people who support ending the need for food banks, to secure commitments from your PPCs to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’

This role is funded by TT as part of their GE strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will serve as the link between NBSG Foodbank and the Mobilisation team at TT, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

Founded in 1951, the Refugee Council exists to support people who come to the UK in need of safety and speak out for compassion, fairness and kindness.

We achieve this by providing expert advice and casework, building the capacity of refugee community organisations, and working with allies across society to change government policy.

Our vision for refugees to be welcome to live safe and fulfilling lives contributing to the UK has never been more urgent and needed. At the end of 2022 35.3 million refugees and a total of 108.4 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide and in need of safety, dignity and welcome. We are determined to secure public and government support for safe routes for all people seeking safety, and a fair, effective and compassionate refugee protection system.

Now is an excellent time to join the Refugee Council. We are over halfway through our strategy period and this post represents the next phase in our investment in partnerships and collaboration. The strategy is ambitious about improving refugee protection by working closely with refugees and like-minded allies, united in our desire to create a just, fair and humane refugee protection system. It will also see us delivering direct services that improve people’s refugee protection journey through targeted advice and casework and strengthening and connecting Refugee Community Organisations with other service providers and advocates.

To manage the set up and running of an Operational Management Group that will bring together a range of stakeholders from across the sector, Including:

• Manage the relationships and differential power dynamics of a diverse group of representatives to ensure all partners have equal voice in the group. 
• Coordinating the group’s meetings (both online and in person) including arranging times, agreeing agendas and minutes. 
• Supporting the group to take overall responsibility for the project through management, reporting, monitoring and visits to ensure that the work is progressing as planned.
