About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams. 

If you think you have the skills, qualities and drive to fulfil this role, but don’t meet all of the specifications, or perhaps you’ve gained your experience in (for example) commercial sales or within relationships management and are looking to move into development work, we would still welcome hearing from you. We are also open to making the role part time (80%) for the right candidate.

The Role 
 
As our Supporter Engagement Assistant, you will join our Fundraising Team to help us build strong and lasting relationships with our charity's supporters and donors.  

Reporting to the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will deliver excellent customer service over the telephone, in written (email and postal) communications and face to face and ensure that supporters' details are accurately recorded on the CRM database. You will be representing the charity, explaining its purpose, and demonstrating our charity values to donors/supporters, showing appropriate empathy to those who may have cancer or a family member/friend who does.  

This role provides a great opportunity to make a real difference to the people of Yorkshire and requires someone with a friendly manner, good team-working skills, great customer service and excellent organisational skills.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Ensure supporter communications are accurate, timely and appropriate to the recipient. This includes following the relevant pathways to process donations, record legacy pledges, update key information so that the communication is tailored and relevant to the individual supporter. 

• Update supporter records on our database to reflect changes in marketing permissions, personal details, the charity's relationship with the supporter (e.g. Volunteer/ Donor/ Brand Ambassador etc.) and any communications had between the supporter & the charity. 

• Use the CRM System to run supplied data queries to deliver campaigns (e.g. using Mail Merge) and to create and deliver supporter communications, this includes printing and posting letters and sending emails, making updates to supporter records and fulfilling requests for information. 

• Work alongside the Supporter Engagement Officer & Individual Giving Manager to improve the initial welcome for newly acquired regular donors and the onwards stewardship journey for all supporters. Conducting research and contributing ideas to improve the supporter journeys and implementing these processes independently. 

• Undertake other duties and take on a lead role in supporting projects relevant to the purpose of the role as requested by members of the CRM, Marketing, Fundraising or Research & Services teams. 

• Monitor inbound emails to the charity in the supporter care inbox, forwarding to the relevant colleague (if unable to provide a response) or responding and actioning. 

• Monitor incoming calls to the charity through the supporter engagement number, forwarding to the relevant colleague (if unable to provide a response) or responding and actioning. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a qualification in a relevant discipline and/or proven experience working in a similar role, such as customer service. 

• To have evidence of continued professional development relevant to the role purpose and level. 

• To have customer service experience in a similar or related role (e.g. telephony/ databases/ office). 

• To have high computer literacy with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook. 

• To have previous experience of working with databases (e.g. Access or Raiser's Edge).

• To be happy to work independently and ask for support where this is needed, but also like to both work with and support colleagues as part of a team working towards a common goal. 

• To have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to use active listening skills, and write professionally and appropriately for a range of diverse audiences. Has a good grasp of grammar, spelling and of the spoken word. 

• To have strong organisational skills and performs their work to an extremely high level of accuracy and professionalism, paying close attention to detail. 

• To be able to present data and information in a way that is helpful and actionable to others.

Job Purpose:

Holder House is set in the leafy neighbourhood of Abingdon and provides care and support to 14 people from 18+ living with, and recovering from, enduring mental health issues. The Team Manager reports to and will be supported by the Registered Manager. 

As well as ensuring the quality of service and support provided to people who use our services, you will line manage front line staff and organise any building maintenance requirements. Whether you’re carrying out an induction, undertaking an investigation, putting team development plans in place or providing support to our business development team, one thing’s for sure – you won't be short of challenge and variety. We’re currently working towards being awarded ‘Outstanding’ at our next CQC inspection and you will play an integral part in helping us to achieve this.

Substantial experience gained managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as well as being outcome driven and able to lead by example using your firm but inclusive management style. You’re open and encouraging too and have lots of tact and diplomacy. What's more, you're great at managing conflicting priorities on time, have a flexible attitude to working hours and are willing to participate in on call arrangements. The service operates two sleep-ins per night (paid at £70.47 per 9-hour sleep-in) and an on-call rota (paid at £18.00) to cover a sleep-in/day shift in the event of absence – applicants should be flexible and available to cover sleep-ins and fill in on the on-call rota where needed.

This is a permanent full time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. In October 2024, Humankind will then be renamed to reflect the new, bigger and better organisation.

This new role will work across varied charity management projects to help set up a new UK office for a fast growing medical INGO that has already treated over 13 million patients across Africa!

It will include leading on a broad range of projects that support the set up and management of the UK registered office and will require working autonomously while being part of an experienced and supportive team. Role Context

ALIMA UK is in its start-up phase and is made up of a small team. This period is exciting at times unpredictable.  We need someone reliable who enjoys and has a proven track record of leading and delivering on operational projects for a business or charity while working with senior stakeholders. They should be a highly organised self-starter who is able to work autonomously and lead on projects as well as a great team player.

The role is varied and has a significant financial element, so strong numerical skills and good written communication skills are both important as well as a flexible, responsible approach. Ideally they will also have experience of, and good knowledge of, the charity sector in the UK.

This role is posted as a one year contract as the needs of the business are changing as the organisation develops. At the end of the year the needs of ALIMA will be reviewed and there may be scope to further shape the role, depending on the needs of the business and funding available at the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

• Driving and implementing a varied range of projects that support the smooth set-up of the UK charity, in collaboration with the UK Head of Development 
• Virtual Office Management, including organising cloud based filing systems, managing resources including IT, coordinating information collection 

 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Head of Development & Chair to create and develop new financial management systems for the charity
• Ongoing management of the financial systems of the charity including bookkeeping, invoice management and basic reporting
• Working with colleagues to produce financial reports for the Board, donors and others on request

EVENT & PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATION 

• Coordination of small events
• Organising and coordinating staff and trustee visits to the UK and overseas 

SUPPORTING SENIOR STAKEHOLDERS 

• Organise UK board meetings including booking venues, finalising and circulating papers, minute taking
• Copywriting

PERSON SPECIFICATION

REQUIRED 

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

• Experience working for a UK-based charity in an administrative, executive support, finance, fundraising or project management role 
• Strong project management skills: a track record of successfully driving small to medium-sized projects
• Strong numerical skills, including experience reporting on or managing budgets, producing management accounts or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills 
• Excellent organisational skills: Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload to meet deadlines

Spectra are looking for a Senior Trust Fundraiser, focussing on larger trusts, to join a growing fundraising team with exciting plans. You will contribute to raising the income required to continue delivering counselling, advocacy, mentoring, outreach, groups and other support services at Spectra, and work with a team to implement a new fundraising plan. The Role:

The Partner Engagement Lead is responsible for key account management, and specifically developing and supporting relationships with programme sponsors and partners within the WorldGBC network.

The Partner Engagement Lead will work closely alongside the programme/projects team subject leads, taking responsibility for day to day management of activities that relate to sponsors or stakeholders, including partner relationships, external collaborations and fundraising.

Working cross-functionally within a matrix-style organisation, the Lead will work collaboratively on the engagement pillar of WorldGBC's fundraising team alongside the Partnerships Manager and the Strategic Partnerships Lead. This team coordinates closely with all WorldGBC departments, in particular where sponsors are involved with initial focus on the programme/project partners.

Well-organised and a great communicator, this individual will ensure that key relationships are managed effectively across the organisation, and be detail oriented in their reporting and accounting of opportunities. The Lead should also be willing to represent the organisation in relevant external opportunities relating to the programmes as need arises - including fundraising meetings, external working groups, events or conferences.

The Partner Engagement Lead will report to the Director of Programmes Strategy.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Account Management: Be primary point of contact for new and existing programmatic sponsors and partners, overseeing engagement with the network and accounting with detailed reporting to ensure up-to-date partnership records. Work alongside the programmatic team leads to deliver all agreed benefits to partners, ensuring a uniform balance of benefits and opportunities across sponsors engaging in all areas of the organisation.

2. Fundraising and Budget Management: Work alongside the programme leads to secure funding and manage relevant programme/project budgets (with guidance from the Director of Programmes Strategy), including supporting grant application and reporting responsibilities where necessary.

3. Stakeholder Engagement (members and partners): Engage with stakeholders to ensure that our programmes/projects align with their goals and needs, working with the Director of Programmes Strategy and wider programme team to explore best practice engagement tactics throughout 2024.

4. Subject Matter Expertise: Stay current with the latest trends in sustainable buildings and WorldGBC programme outputs, ensuring the Lead can communicate knowledgeably about WorldGBC strategy and work areas as required.

5. Communications: Support communication for WorldGBC on topics related to sustainable buildings in relevant programmatic areas, representing the team at internal or external events or industry working groups and collaborating with Marketing & Communications on accurate messaging for publications and campaigns.

6. Supporting Programmes team: Be a committed member of the WorldGBC team and offer support, training and expertise to wider members of the team. Participate and engage in wider WorldGBC campaigns, events and deliverables, such as COP, World Green Building Week and Leadership Summit.

We are looking for a collaborative and engaging lead to work in our Business and Investor Engagement (B&IE) team to grow and build relationships with the UK food sector. This role will oversee the charity’s engagement with the business community, with a particular focus on the Out of Home and manufacturing sectors. This involves having strategic oversight of and managing relationships with businesses across the UK food system and positioning ourselves as insight-led critical friends. 

The B&IE team engages major food businesses on actions they can take to shift the UK towards more healthy and sustainable diets in order to tackle food system issues such as climate change, nature loss, diet related disease and dietary inequalities. We provide insight and analysis underpinned by our Plating Up Progress benchmark to support and hold businesses to account in increasing sales of healthier and more sustainable foods and in shifting towards more responsible business practices.

The business engagement lead will work closely with the Senior Business and Investor engagement manager to build and develop relationships with the Out of Home and manufacturing sectors, oversee the Food Foundation’s role in an exciting new partnership with a major broadcaster in support of more plant rich diets, oversee the delivery of our flagship report – The State of the Nation’s Food Industry (SOFI) - and collaborate with civil society partners also working in this space. Previous line management experience is desirable but not essential. 

This role would be well suited to a registered nutritionist or sustainable food systems expert with experience of working in or with industry and looking to make the move into the charity sector.
