RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Research and evaluate new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant funders, maintaining a 12-month funding calendar.

2. Cultivate and nurture relationships with funding/grant-making organisations, both new and existing.

3. Develop compelling cases for support for designated projects or organisational areas, tailoring funding bids and applications accordingly.

4. Enhance Buttle UK's ability to deliver compelling reports to donors, meeting or surpassing their expectations.

5. Submit timely reports to donors, ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation requirements.

6. Support the maintenance of systems tracking fund allocation and expenditure, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information for funders.

7. Manage donor records on the Raiser's Edge fundraising database, including recording activities, income, and producing management reports.

8. Stay informed about funding opportunities and trends in the sector through attending conferences, workshops, and events.

9. Generate accurate and timely management information on fundraising activities and budgets.

10. Ensure integration of fundraising activities within the wider staff team and provide necessary support.

11. Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Fundraising and Marketing and/or the Trust Fundraising Manager.

12. Proactively assess own performance and development needs.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

1. Proven experience and success in developing and drafting proposals and/or reports raising funds from trusts, foundations, other grant makers or the equivalent.

2. Experience of creating compelling and concise funding proposals, written documents and reports from a range of information sources, including detailed technical or sector specific information. about the organisation’s work.

3. Proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

4. Experience of research techniques applicable to identifying funding opportunities and framing funding bids.

5. Financially literate with the experience of producing and interpreting budgets, or other detailed numerical information.

6. Experience of working under your own initiative, dealing with conflicting demands and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

7. Experience of project planning and/or project coordination.

8. Proven IT skills, ideally with experience of using databases.

9. Good knowledge of the charity sector.

We’re looking for an experienced individual to join our Community Fundraising team as Community Fundraising Officer, covering our West Midlands hub. You will join us working 35 hours per week on a permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £30,781.96 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Title: Fundraising Officer.

Reporting to: Director of Development.

Direct reports: None.

Location: The candidate will be based in Birmingham, where they will work from home for the majority of the time (with monthly travel to the All Team meeting in London, and occassional additional travel). There will also be opportunities to meet with a small number of other Stonewall Housing staff based in Birmingham.

Role context: Stonewall Housing is currently growing its Development Team, and this Fundraising Officer will play an integral part in maximising Stonewall Housing’s income and raising its profile across the UK (with a particular focus on building relationships and partnerships in Birmingham and the surrounding area). It’s an exciting opportunity for the right person to make this role their own and to bring innovative ideas to our organisation.

Days per week: This role can be for 3 or 4 days per week depending on the candidate's preference.

Please note: The salary advertised includes London weighting. If the successful candidate chooses to include London weighting in their salary, they would be responsible for covering the cost of their own transport when travelling in for the monthly All Team meeting held in London Liverpool Street, and occasional other travel. In the role, you’ll be:

1. You’ll be building relationships with a wide range of individuals, community supporters, networks and local groups to fundraise and build awareness of Stonewall Housing’s mission, with a particular focus on Birmingham-based individuals and organisations.
2. Working with the Development Officer and Community and Events Fundraising Specialist on community fundraiser stewardship, where you’ll be providing support to individuals and groups fundraising for Stonewall Housing through their own events or running and challenge activities.
3. Supporting the Development Officer and Community and Events Fundraising Specialist with refining, developing and implementing our annual programme of Stonewall Housing-led events, including cultivation, stewardship and fundraising events.
4. Working with the Development Team to develop Stonewall Housing’s Legacy Giving programme, ‘Over the Rainbow’.
5. Supporting the Training Lead by delivering engaging in-person and virtual training sessions and workshops to other organisations and networks across the public and private sectors. You’ll be empowering teams of all sizes to confidently meet the needs of LGBTQ+ people in their staff team or accessing their services. You will receive comprehensive and bespoke Stonewall Housing training in how to best deliver these sessions. 
6. Supporting the Development Team and the wider organisation by taking part in external panels and speaking engagement opportunities, confidently representing the work of Stonewall Housing.
7. Developing new compelling cases for support both for individual donors and for broader fundraising activities.
8. Using data and evidence to monitor KPIs and track trends, helping the Development Team make informed decisions.
9. Supporting the wider Development Team with the day-to-day running of fundraising, comms, and awareness activity.

Your experience:

· Experience of developing and enacting ambitious strategic plans for a fundraising area (this could be Community Giving, Events, Individual Giving, Corporate Giving, or similar).

· Demonstrable understanding of implementing best practice to fundraising activities.

· A track record of building positive and prosperous relationships with supporters.

· Experience of developing engaging supporter journeys.

Your skills and attributes:

· Confident and enthusiastic public speaker, at both in person or virtual events.

· A creative problem solver with a solutions-focussed outlook.

· Excellent team player who likes to get stuck into new tasks and action groups.

· Organised, efficient and driven.

· Up-to-date knowledge of website donation tools (e.g. JustGiving etc).

· Computer literate in Excel, Word and Outlook.

· Working knowledge of best practice and the compliance and financial issues around fundraising (Gift Aid, GDPR etc).

Great to have, but not essential!

· Experience in delivering training to organisations, networks or community groups.

· Experience in coordinating fundraising events.

· Experience of managing projects remotely, including using tools such as Trello.

· Proficiency in using a fundraising CRM package (we use Donorfy).

Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, this post will lead on the development and delivery of Thrive’s community and public fundraising whilst working collaboratively with the rest of fundraising team to maximise and develop opportunities over various income streams.

The Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community groups, schools and other organisations fundraising for Haven House Children’s Hospice. The Community Fundraising Officer will support groups, schools and organisations doing their own events and fundraising activities, work toward agreed income targets, and assist the two Managers in the team with planning and delivering key Haven House events and programmes.

This role will report to the Community & Events Manager and will be responsible for maximising income from across our community through providing an exceptional level of supporter care. The Community Fundraising Officer will work closely with our Database Manager to ensure accurate recording and reporting of income and supporter information.  This role will also manage a brilliant team of volunteer Community Champions who attend local events and speaking engagements on behalf of Haven House.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join Positive East as our new Fundraising Officer. This is a key and varied role that sits within the charity’s busy Fundraising Team. Purpose of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer role:   

As Senior Community Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing all income generation via community fundraising. The purpose of this post is to feed into strategy, providing guidance and direction to ensure that Community Fundraising continues to grow as an area of income and that all Community Fundraisers receive high-quality support and stewardship.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Community Fundraising Officer:

What we are looking for in our Senior Community Fundraising Officer: 

• At least 2 years’ experience of working in a professional fundraising role. 

• Experience of managing a portfolio of fundraising events for community fundraising. 

• Experience of working within a team and individually to achieve success; meeting or exceeding your financial targets. 

• Demonstrable experience of initiating cross-team working to achieve financial goals. 

• Experience of using a CRM database, such as Raiser’s Edge, Access Charity CRM, or Sales Force, to target and segment supporters. 

• Any experience of developing fundraising strategies for working with educational institutions, community fundraisers and faith groups is also desirable. 

• Ability to carry out thorough research to keep-up-to date with new fundraising opportunities. 

• Experience of managing a team. 

• Experience of maintaining and reporting against budgets and feeding into the teams KPI’s. 

• Excellent computer skills and experience using a wide range of computer packages, including Microsoft packages.

Purpose of the Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer role:   

As Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the implementation and maintenance of a rolling programme of prospect identification, research and the nurturing of relationships. Leading on maximising support through the corporate fundraising streams, the post holder will draft and submit applications among other approaches to prospective funders and donors. • To be responsible for a portfolio of prospective and existing corporate supporters to solicit large donations, funding and ensure meaningful partnerships are created 

• Work to match funders aims with Women’s Aid’s vision, purpose and mission – using creativity and innovation to package up relevant areas of Women’s Aid work and strategy to be appealing to funders 

• Understanding the organisational needs and strategy in order to provide excellent account management to Corporate funders and Major Donors/High Givers.

What we are looking for in our Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer:  

• Proven experience of successful fundraising from Corporate supporters, major & mid level donors and Trusts.

• Experience of acquiring and managing corporate Charity of the Year partnerships.

• Demonstrable initiative and determination. 

• Line management experience. 

• Experience of writing reports on activities, summarising and analysing figures to make recommendations using Word, Excel and databases. 

• Experience of managing events for high level donors. 

• Experience of researching and developing targeted proposals for presentation to prospective corporate partners and major donors.

• Excellent attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
