About the role

Crisis is opening a new location right in the heart of Walthamstow. This is an opportunity to be part of opening and establishing a brand-new shop in one of London’s most vibrant communities. You will make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. 

As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.

This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have significant retail or customer service experience alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. Our award winning fundraising division is currently looking for an Engagement and Stewardship Executive to join our Partnership and Philanthropy team in this newly created role for the charity.

With ambitious plans to grow our fundraising income above £60m in the next 5 years we are expanding our fundraising team. The role sits within the newly created Operations Team ensuring Age UK's donor facing Partnerships and Philanthropy Team are provided with the highest quality donor research, engagement and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.

In this newly created position we require a collaborative individual who can support our Senior Operations Manager deliver our stewardship strategy focused on inspiring, thanking and retaining our major donors, corporate partners and grant funders by creating engaging communications and activities.

This role offers hybrid working between home and London (EC3N 2LB). Our fundraising division attend the London office once a week on Thursday's.

Must haves:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of producing high quality written materials that are tailored to the needs of specific internal or external audiences.
* Ability to prioritise, manage conflicting deadlines, work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks to deadline.
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven experience of good collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

This will involve printed media but also increasingly digital media as we look to widen the reach of our communications and messaging. A fantastic opportunity for a Centre Fundraising Organiser to join the team at our West London centre.

As an integral member of the fundraising team, you will be based at Maggie’s West London and you will assist in the delivery of a wide range of operational and administrative support, as well as social media activities.

• First point of contact for enquiries from community audiences and suppliers.

We’re looking for a proactive Community Engagement Officer with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude who is willing to learn, grow and take ownership of this newly created and unique role.

You’ll be a warm and friendly communicator, both verbally and in writing, and be excited about raising support and awareness for SSR’s work with those affected by scoliosis.

As the Community Engagement Officer, working with the Community Engagement Manager you will manage relationships with regular donors and support individuals to fundraise effectively for SSR as well as thanking fundraisers and donors.

You will work with the Community Engagement Manager to support our wider fundraising efforts by providing administrative support.

A significant part of your role will be to respond to Helpline enquiries, either by phone or email. You will be the first point of contact.  Training will be given on this.

You will also handle liaising and looking after our members and processing new membership applications.

You’ll work closely with the Community Engagement Manager on any events. The yearly ‘Scoliosis Awareness Day’ event, along with the Zorab Symposium which takes place every three years and any patient meetings that take place.

You will need to be able to travel to the office at least one day a week.  Days worked can be agreed to suit the successful candidate.

You will need database experience. We use E Tapestry, but Raisers Edge or other charity database experience is relevant.

Purpose of the job/About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Challenge Events Team, helping to coordinate a portfolio of third-party challenge events that drive participation and income for Dementia UK.

As the Challenge Events Executive you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of all challenge events within your portfolio. These events include Great North Run, London Landmarks Half Marathon and some international marathons.

Utilising project management tools and strategies, you’ll meticulously plan, organise, and deliver each event while driving targeted marketing campaigns, with a particular emphasis on email and digital platforms. Collaboration with our Fundraising, Marketing & Communications teams will be essential as you work together to maximise income, foster partnerships, and cultivate robust engagement for our challenge events. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in co-ordinating successful fundraising events or campaigns. You should possess hands-on experience utilising relationship databases, coupled with an understanding of effective marketing channels, particularly digital. Additionally, expertise in stewardship techniques is crucial for optimising remittance rates and maximising average gifts. You should also have an understanding of how to use insight, data and market trends to identify opportunities and make recommendations.

About the Role 

Located in Little Venice, West London, our shop is located in a beautiful area, with brilliant merchandise and a dedicated volunteer team that we'd love to continue growing. 

The shop has great potential, and as Shop Manager you'll explore opportunities to grow income and continue to develop the offer, including forming stronger community links, building the volunteer team, and ultimately increasing donations and income. You'll be a passionate people leader, excited to work in a diverse community!

About You 

You will be someone with exceptional people skills, a leader who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering. You'll be passionate about bringing the Mary's Living & Giving philosophy to life and will bring:

• Proven experience leading and motivating teams, ideally having managed volunteers, or a retail team previously
• A strong understanding of what good looks like in a busy and successful community-led shop, ideally with Retail experience 
• A clear passion for sustainable fashion and knowledge of products and trends
• A can-do attitude and ability to approach challenges in a positive way, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance where you need it.

Previous charity retail experience is ideal, but not essential. If you have transferable leadership skills or experience managing volunteers in other settings and are looking for a new challenge in a charity shop with a difference, we'd love to hear from you!

Location – This role will be based on site at our Little Venice shop in London.

 About the Role:

In the role of Membership Development Officer, you will be instrumental in growing and cultivating our membership base, overseeing membership administration, and improving our digital footprint.  Main Responsibilities:

- Membership Administration (50%):

- Process new membership applications across various categories.

- Respond to inquiries and manage member communications.

- Maintain accurate membership records and manage payments.

- Send subscription reminders and handle resignations.

 - Membership Promotion and Events (25%):

- Actively promote membership through events and collaborations.

- Coordinate merchandise for festivals and external events.

- Utilize Mailchimp to advertise member benefits and events.

 - Website and Marketing Support (15%):

- Collaborate with the website team to update membership pages.

- Use Mailchimp to communicate membership benefits and promotions.

- Design print materials and merchandise using Canva.

 - Other Duties (10%):

- Engage with the RAS Digital Communications Manager to promote membership.

Compensation & Benefits:

Big Issue is a social enterprise and B-corp business, with over 30 years of experience supporting the most marginalised in society to earn an income through selling the magazine. Since 1991 they have supported over 100,000 vendors to earn an income of over £150 million.

This is a permanent role with hybrid working arrangements from their London offices. The salary for this position is £30,000 to £35,000 per annum.

The Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for raising unrestricted income from individuals by planning and executing the day-to-day campaigns to recruit, engage and retain supporters. This role is critical to income generation for their Big Issue Changing Lives Community Interest Company, which funds their frontline services that support individuals to improve their lives and earn an income from selling the Big Issue magazine or find sustainable employment through their recruitment service, Big Issue Recruit.

To be a successful candidate, you will have demonstrable experience of income generation from direct marketing campaigns (acquisition and/or retention) across a variety of offline and digital channels for acquisition and retention. You will also have experience of project management to deliver acquisition or retention campaigns within agreed timescales and budgets.

Role: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Programmes and Partner Manager

Contract Type: Full time, permanent (part-time candidates will be considered, minimum 4 days per week) 

Number of days: 5 days a week (will consider flexible working hours).

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
