ROLE PURPOSE
This position involves identifying and prioritising potential donors capable of making significant contributions to help us deliver a range of projects aimed at enhancing the student experience and supporting the local community. By providing the Development and Fundraising Team with tailored and insightful research, this role will enhance the prospect funding pipeline and facilitate the cultivation of a diverse pools of donors, including individuals, grant-making trusts, and companies. This role will also manage a well-structured stewardship program for donors. Responsibilities include promptly acknowledging donations, creating personalised impact reports, and overseeing bi-annual events which recognise and celebrate their support.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· To maintain and develop the University’s database of fundraising prospects through proactive identification, analysis, and segmentation, (individual and aggregate) record updating, and original research, including the identification of new prospects.
· To prepare prospect profiles (which may include wealth ratings), and work with relationship managers to devise appropriate tailored cultivation and solicitation plans, enabling appropriately targeted fundraising asks.
· To develop and manage reporting in the database across fundraising portfolios to help ensure prospects are strategically moving along the prospect pipeline towards major gift solicitation • To produce and provide due-diligence reports on prospective donors as part of the University’s gift acceptance procedures.
· To deliver an annual donor recognition event to acknowledge and celebrate the support of the University’s most generous supporters.
· To organise smaller bespoke events for higher level donors to the university, for example, site visits to project sites and/or opportunities to meet student beneficiaries.
· To write insightful and impactful bespoke reports for donors supporting the University, ensuring reports demonstrate the positive impact of support and encourage repeat gift solicitation from the fundraising team.
· To keep abreast of regulations, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) ensuring that all prospect research and cultivation is compliant and understood by fundraisers.
· To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head of Unit from time to time.
CONTEXT
The primary purpose of the Development team is to secure philanthropic income to support the delivery of the University’s Being Westminster 2022-2029 strategy. The Development team forms part of the Global Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing and Communications (GRAMC) directorate. The team also works closely with the Business Engagement Directorate to deliver an integrated approach to the University’s relationships with its key external stakeholders. The Development team collaborates with the Alumni Relations team to inspire and engage the University of Westminster’s vibrant, global community of alumni and supporters to build lifelong and mutually beneficial relationships with the institution.
DIMENSIONS
· The role has no budgetary responsibility.
· This role will be expected to manage a varied workload with limited, direct supervision.
· The post holder will be expected to support key GRAMC activity which may include some unsocial working hours.

The role
In this role you will:
- Develop a strong Trust portfolio of small and medium Trust donors. And to deliver growth for FY 22/23 and beyond.
- Identify new Trust prospects who are aligned to Scope's aims. Develop actions to attract and secure new income form multi-year funders.
- Develop and implement an annual small Trust mailing.
- Support the Trust team colleagues on large multi-year bids.
- Provide excellent supporter stewardship. This includes ensuring everything from prompt acknowledgements, tailored updates, reports, regular mailings, formal funding applications, invitations and creating and delivering engagement opportunities.
- Work with colleagues from other teams to develop high quality applications and reports.
- Utilise our new CRM capabilities to record supporter engagements and maximise team efficiencies.

With experience of securing five and six figure sums from Trusts and Foundations and grant making bodies, you will identify and secure high-value partnerships taking us closer to our goal of raising just over £2m a year.
Working closely with the Head of Fundraising, CEO and Senior Management Team, you will develop high-quality, compelling proposals to secure significant funding partnerships that will transform life outcomes for deaf children.
Through exceptional research, bid writing and stewardship you will focus on securing six-figure plus funding partnerships and mange relationships for long term impact.
Research
- Research and identify prospective trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies
- Grow and maintain a strong trust funding pipeline, creating new trust prospects for our priority funding areas
Fundraising
- Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential of delivering five and six figure grants.
- Work with colleagues across Auditory Verbal UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality trust and foundation bids, creating a compelling narrative, budget and outcomes for a range short, medium and long term projects towards our vision
- Develop personalised relationships with Trust and Foundation trustees and trust administrators, maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
- Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view AVUK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met
- Represent AVUK at face-to-face meetings with donors and prospects, successfully engaging them with the charities aims and objectives
Reporting
- Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
- Alongside the Director of Finance and Operations, prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
- Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
- Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities

The Gift Processing Manager works within Supporter Services, with line management responsibility of the Gift Processing Coordinator. You will manage and have oversight for all the processing of donations, and will ensure it is processed to a high standards, along with the successful monthly reconciliation.

As the Stewardship Events Lead, you will oversee the planning, project management, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of bespoke events across the organisation. As the Community Fundraising Manager, you'll collaborate closely with a diverse fundraising team, playing a pivotal role in strategically planning, budgeting, and executing a new community fundraising programme. The Tudor Trust is a grant-making charitable trust with a long-standing commitment to funding smaller organisations and the grassroots in the UK. The trust has an endowment of around £220 million and our annual commitment to grants has averaged £20 million. We are winding down our current grant-making and developing a new strategy to support under-resourced communities to thrive by funding organisations and the grassroots seeking racial, social and economic justice.

About the role
The Programme Officer is a new role at Tudor Trust and offers an exciting opportunity to lead transformative initiatives that amplify the voices of under-resourced communities and contribute to systemic change. By the end of 2024, we expect to have three Programme Officers in place.
As a Programme Officer, you will play a pivotal role in reshaping Tudor’s grant-making approach, fostering collaborative relationships with grantees and stakeholders, and contributing to strategic thinking to drive long-term racial, social, and economic change.
The Programme Officers together will oversee a different approach to distributing our funding, which could range from small start-up grants, long term multi-year funding, through to a big bet approach with a focus on larger scale collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Grant-making Rebuild
- Take a proactive role in rebuilding Tudor’s grant-making strategy, identifying opportunities to develop alternative networks and power-building initiatives within disproportionately disadvantaged communities impacted by discrimination.
- Hold a grant-making portfolio and work closely with grantees to develop comprehensive change strategies that foster broader societal impact.
- Build genuine and respectful relationships with organisations and leaders in the field, actively identifying potential funding relationships and opportunities for collaboration.
- Apply a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) lens to guide funding decisions towards under-resourced groups and leaders, taking accountability for equitable decision-making.
- Building careful dialogue between Tudor’s staff, trustees and advisors to ensure all decisions are understood.

Experience and Knowledge
Previous experience in grant making is not essential. We will collaborate with you to define the responsibilities of the role, taking an iterative and reflective approach and we’ll keep reviewing and improving it together.
- Experience in the activist, campaigning, policy space, and/or philanthropy preferred, but not essential.

This organisation believes in creating change the world needs by unlocking investor action on climate change. Working with a range of members to address climate risk, this organisation ensures its members are well-positioned to make the most of investment opportunities offered by climate mitigation and adaptation efforts, ensuring that their investments contribute towards a better world for us all to live in.
As the Senior Development Manager, you will be responsible for securing income from trusts and foundations. This will include building relationships with an existing portfolio of donors, as well as researching and bringing on new trust and foundation relationships for the organisation. This role will focus on securing six and seven-figure grants from these relationships and build long lasting partnerships.
To be successful as the Senior Development Manager, you will have proven experience in securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally at the six-figure level. You will be able to evidence excellent relationship building skills and be able to produce compelling grant proposals. This role is joining a growing team, and this person will need to work both collaboratively, as well as independently to grow new relationships externally and internally.
This role is a permanent full-time position that will have hybrid working in the London offices two days per week. The salary for this role is £45,000 to £52,500.
