You will have:
- Extensive experience as a Major Donor fundraiser or transferrable commercial experience in cultivating and securing major gifts or sales, with a demonstrable track record of success
- A track record of identifying, cultivating and generating multi-year income, managing high-value donors or senior clients
- Experience of delivering stewardship and cultivation events
- Excellent persuasive interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build and nurture long-term relationships

About the role
The Corporate Partnerships team is evolving at pace, securing some seriously exciting and impactful partnerships over the past 2 years.
This is a brand-new role, part of growth plans and investment in fundraising. You'll have oversight of the high value corporate offer, acting as resident expert on the needs of high value external stakeholders. Through exceptional account management and stewardship, you'll focus on securing and retaining relationships with multi-year, multi-million pound partners.
There's a bold organisational ambition is to secure two new high value accounts (£5 million+), so you'll work closely with new business colleagues to develop the products and services to make this a reality.

Context and Responsibilities within this role:

They are now looking for:
- Extensive experience of managing major donor programs and an understanding of fundraising and marketing within animal welfare and international organisations.

- Excellent written communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills including presenting, negotiating and influencing;

Maximising the value and contribution of supporters is fundamental to Parkinson’s UK; building networks, understanding what motivates their supporters, and aligning programmes to their charitable interests is key to the charity’s growth plans for Major Gifts. This role will be critical to leading the philanthropy, trust and statutory, special events and prospect research and insights teams (approximately 18 people) and working with colleagues and leaders across the charity to identify prospects and opportunities to give at a transformational level. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major gifts fundraising and a proven track record of securing large gifts. They will also have experience of managing a large annual income target and driving continued growth and ensuring targets are met. They will have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire multiple teams to coordinate projects and exceed fundraising targets. Strong presentation skills and budgetary skills will be combined with the ability to build positive and high-value relationships across a range of sectors, individuals, organisations and committees. The role
This crucial role will help to strategically grow and develop our income and awareness. The Royal Marsden Cancer charity raises money solely to support the world-famous Royal Marsden, ensuring nurses, doctors and research teams can provide best in class care and life saving treatments in the UK and around the world. The Philanthropy team at the Royal Marsden works with the Charity’s most generous individual supporters, connecting them to the projects they are most passionate about and ensuring a truly exceptional supporter experience. The Senior Philanthropy Manager will manage a portfolio of existing major donors to secure 6 and 7 figure donations. They will play a significant part in the Charity’s upcoming Capital Appeal, managing key Appeal Board relationships and working closely with senior internal stakeholders to explore new networks, facilitate introductions and secure gifts.
Key duties include:
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and senior hospital colleagues to develop strategic and personalised solicitation and stewardship plans to develop a broad portfolio of donors and prospects in the UK and abroad.
- Identify and build new relationships with individuals with a focus on securing six and seven figure donations in line with agreed targets.
- Lead on the management of senior volunteer relationships to map and identify potential donors and ensure the most effective stewardship.

We’re looking for the following skills & experience for this role:
- Extensive major gift fundraising experience, with a strong track record of success and involvement in securing 6-7 figure gifts, either individually or as part of a team.
- An outstanding track record and aptitude for high-value acquisition.
- Experience in identifying, recruiting and managing senior volunteers.
- Significant experience of managing successful relationships with high net worth donors, board members, VIPs and ambassadors.
