What will I be doing?
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as Philanthropy Manager within our Trusts and Foundations team. You'll have responsibility for identifying and approaching trusts and foundations and seek their support of Cancer Research UK's (CRUK) campaign priorities, and in particular, the Francis Crick Institute. This high value fundraising role will focus on securing 5-7-figure gifts.
This is an exciting time to join the CRUK philanthropy team, as we prepare to launch an ambitious multi-million-pound fundraising campaign in 2024.

Managing a prospect pool of trusts and foundations with the aim to secure gifts of £100K+ as well as building a base of committed donors at lower level.
Managing a programme of cultivation and stewardship for all trusts and foundations and ensure consistent pipeline movement for prospects within the role's portfolio.
Developing and implementing a trusts and foundations strategy for the Francis Crick Institute, maximising the broad range of fundraising opportunities the Crick offers
Driving and developing funding proposals and stewardship reports to an excellent standard in collaboration with science engagement colleagues
Maximising gift opportunities to deliver against agreed targets and objectives. Providing regular reporting and metrics against goals to support portfolio reviews and ensure the portfolio remains on track to deliver organisational goals.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at the Francis Crick Institute and CRUK, including academics, researchers, and institutional leaders along with our philanthropy services and science engagement teams.
What skills are we looking for?
Extensive experience of successfully soliciting gifts from trusts and foundation at five and six-figure level.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate complex environments and competing priorities.
Proven track record of trust and foundation fundraising in the not-for-profit sector, ideally in a research environment and/or large organisation.
Have a "can do" attitude and a demonstrated ability to problem solve. Ability to apply past experience of trust fundraising to anticipate potential challenges and address them quickly.

Part of our Equity, Inclusion & Culture Directorate, the Volunteering team is passionate about the positive impacts of volunteering for both individuals and organisations. Collaborative and supportive, we believe that volunteers are a vital part of our growing movement for change. We support the mobilisation of volunteer’s to deliver Shelter’s strategic priorities and provide the infrastructure and insight that enables that mobilisation.
We’re a fast-moving team, working to support corporate volunteering operations and develop innovative ways to involve corporate volunteers that allows us to tap into their skills, expertise and time.
Corporate Volunteering is key to helping us win and maintain high value partnerships. We have successfully developed and extended long-term, sector-leading partnerships with companies including HSBC UK, B&Q, M&S and Network Rail across England and Scotland. These partnerships are an essential part of Shelter’s income and we work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Team to do this.
About the role
This is an exciting role within the Volunteering Team. Your challenge will be to lead on the co-ordination and development of a meaningful, engaging and impactful corporate volunteering programme that delivers excellent volunteering experiences.
We’ll rely on you to effectively manage volunteering activities across our corporate partnerships. That will involve proactively leading work programmes and collaborating with colleagues across Shelter. The role involves working closely with our Corporate Partnerships Team – which is part of the High Value Partnerships department. They’re responsible for generating income by securing new corporate partnerships and managing and developing long term partnerships, the success of which is underpinned by volunteering opportunities.
Developing new corporate volunteering opportunities that align with our strategy will be important too, and, because we have a large network of stakeholders, you’ll also need to build a number of effective relationships as you actively seek out opportunities to collaborate in order to ensure success. Establishing robust processes and procedures, seeking to continuously improve them and working towards a consistent approach to volunteering at Shelter based on volunteer management good-practice – all are aspects of this interesting and unique role.

About you
With experience of leading the successful development of volunteering projects and solid volunteer management experience, you will be passionate about volunteering, with an excellent understanding of what makes a quality volunteer experience. You will have demonstrable experience of applying best practice principles to volunteering, To succeed, you’ll need experience of using innovative approaches to planning new volunteering activities and the processes that support them.
You’ll be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, including identifying conflicting demands and establishing clear priorities to meet agreed objectives. Your great communication skills include an ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. What’s more, you’ll be confident creating and delivering high-quality presentations both online and in-person. ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Fundraising Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Income and Partnerships Development team. ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Further Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Work closely with the Head of Partnerships to further develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies. Execute fundraising plans to achieve income targets and ensure long-term sustainability.
- Grant Writing and Proposal Development: Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, government organisations and other donor oganisations. Prepare grant expressions of interest, proposals and applications that effectively communicate the need for our work and SEO London’s mission, programmes, and impact.
- Fundraising Events Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including F1 challenges, Royal Parks Half Marathon and any other fundraising activities. Oversee all aspects of event logistics, marketing, sponsorship, and volunteer coordination.
- Fundraising Volunteers Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer interactions and contributions using excel and other tools. Volunteers to include sponsor firm reps, alumni, our students and other SEO London supporters. Generate reports and analytics to track fundraising progress and campaign effectiveness.
- Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of all funder reporting obligations and milestones, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submissions of reports. Accurately recording and tracking donor contributions, pledges, and grants received.
- Marketing and communication: Work closely with the marketing and communication team to raise awareness of fundraising activities through campaigns on social media and other marketing campaigns.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with programmes leads, finance team, marketing and alumni team, to engage firm volunteers, alumni, students and SEO London staff to have a big splash as to our fundraising activity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, business administration, or a related field.
Candidates without a degree will be considered if they have at least 2 years relevant and relatable work experience in a similar role.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for applicants who have at least 2 years demonstrable experience in some of the following areas and will be willing to learn and develop others:
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate and persuasive writing and presentation skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

This role is fundamental to deepening engagement, increasing loyalty, and driving up income so we can better deliver our ambitious 5-year strategy to transform survival for pancreatic cancer. You will join us at an exciting time to improve primarily our supporter journeys but will also focus on audience experience across the charity, including our support services, fundraising, campaigns, and marketing activity. You’ll be taking stock of our current journeys - working with a wide range of stakeholders to evaluate what is working well, where there are overlaps and pain points, and how we can make improvements. You will then continually champion the needs and expectations of our audiences in the development of new journeys and activities, working as part of other transformational programmes to deliver a first-class experience for our audiences.
You’ll also be providing clear and practical support to steer teams to work in a more audience-centered way and your approach will be based on data-led insights, making use of a suite of exciting new tools and audience analysis we have recently undertaken.
About you
- Experience in mapping, developing, managing, and analysing a matrix of multi-channel journeys.
- Experience in analysing various forms of audience insights to develop tangible actions for teams to apply to their activities

The Role:
The UI/UX designer will be responsible for producing an effective, visually appealing and intuitive digital experience for our donors. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both UI and UX design, with a strong understanding of user-cantered design principles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to produce user-centric engaging designs for our new website redesign and upcoming mobile application.
Reporting to the Creative and Brand Manager, you will also act as a guardian of our brand identity.
Responsibilities:
· Create high quality, engaging designs for the new website redesign and upcoming new mobile application which will allow us to better communicate and engage with our donors and potential donors. This is a key project for FY24, and will take up most of your time within this role – key tasks to support our digital transformation include but not limited to:
o Produce wireframes, flows, mock ups and prototypes which put the donor at the heart of the journey.
o Iterate designs based on feedback and user testing.
o Ensure consistency and brand integrity across all design elements.
· Collaborate with developers and marketing professionals to deliver designs based on learnings. You will be part of a team of three creatives, headed up by the Creative and Brand Manager.
· Support in conducting user research and testing.
· Support in creation of other creative assets as needed, especially during our busiest period over Ramadan.

The Prince of Wales Hospice is passionate about providing specialist care for adults with a terminal diagnosis, and also those around them. The hospice offers a 13-bedroom ward for patients who need round the clock care as well as a Wellbeing and Outreach service – in total the Prince of Wales Hospice cares for over 300 people a year! The Role

The Syria Campaign is a small, fast moving, and powerful human rights organisation that is building new ways for digital and creative communications to have impact. The Digital Campaign Manager will play a key role as The Syria Campaign develops new strategies and approaches to achieve our goals.
What you’ll be responsible for
Developing and leading far-reaching digital campaigns with our Syrian partners to make their demands heard on the international stage, that capitalise on reactive campaign moments. You will be campaigning for freedom and justice for Syria’s disappeared, for the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers from the bombs, and for support for educators, media activists and other heroic civil society actors on the ground in Syria.
Creating high-quality digital campaign content. You will work closely with our small and talented campaign team to write amazing copy across a range of campaign materials, including through supporter emails, advocacy briefs, blogs, and microsites. You will lead on digital advocacy opportunities to mobilise our supporters to take action in solidarity with the demands of our Syrian partners through petitions, fundraisers and other actions. Working closely with the media team you will push forwards creative visuals for social media including graphics, videos and commentary, including commissioning and managing creatives.
Leading our campaign email programme. You will manage our supporter email programme in collaboration with designers and developers. This includes devising and drafting regular multilingual campaign emails to keep our large supporter base engaged, testing out best practices to grow and maintain those who support us, and analysing our success. You will also build action pages, run fundraisers for our Syrian partners, and manage Facebook ads.
Organising and coordinating events and actions, amplified online. You will manage events and actions that influence politicians and decision makers to meet the demands of our Syrian civil society partners – making sure they have maximum impact and reach our global audience.

The Syria Campaign is committed to making sure everyone on the team is happy, productive, and motivated. Here’s how we do that:
A salary of £40,000 - £50,000, in line with international organisations. The role is a full-time position, although 4 days can be considered.
