As part of the Getting Help team, you will provide social and practical support to adults with common mental health problems in a range of settings across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR). This includes assessment and support planning, and community outreach. Typically, Community Engagement Workers support people who are on the waiting list for or who are engaging in Talking Therapy. The Getting Help team works in partnership with HMR Talking Therapies delivered by the Big Life Group and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision and Team Support:
- Support the Youth Worker in Charge in providing guidance, mentorship and support to the youth workers and volunteers.

4. Administrative Support:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of attendance, programme participation and individual progress.
- Support in the preparation of reports, statistics and evaluations to assess program impact and inform decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations governing youth clubs and child protection.
5. Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with the Youth Worker in Charge to establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, schools and community stakeholders.
- Assist in organizing community events, workshops and initiatives that promote youth participation and strengthen community connections.
- Represent the youth club at meetings and events as needed to support community engagement efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
-Level 2 or higher in a related field (e.g., social work, youth development, education) or equivalent practical experience.

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young people whose lives are just too short. Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. What is Screen Share?
Screen Share is a grassroots refugee charity which provides laptops, phones, tablets, data, digital skills to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We use the power of volunteering to turn discarded tech into good quality techical tools for refugees to improve their situation on their own terms. We are now launching a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London and are looking for someone to run it and provide ad-hoc technical support to our team of volunteer laptop refurbishers!
Role overview
Screen Share is looking for a proactive, self-starter and leader to launch a laptop refurbishment training programme for refugees in London, support tech volunteers to remotely refurbish laptops, respond to faults and perceived faults with devices we have provided to service users, and support with sourcing and refurbishing devices.

Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.

Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Fellowships
- Lead on New Fellows Team cases and provide comprehensive support to Cara Fellows using trauma-informed practice.
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.
- Provide logistical support to Fellows prior to and after their arrival in the UK.
- Coordinate with regional exam centres to facilitate IELTS or equivalent fee waivers for Fellows.
- Collect and interpret regional intelligence to inform Fellowship Programme advice and guidance.
- Write and send official documents to Fellows.
- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations.
- Conduct due diligence on Fellows’ documents and risk.

About this key role
As our Children and Families Caseworker, you will support individuals who are affected by domestic violence, C.S.E, Mental health, grooming and exploitation, and gang and serious youth violence, all of which will include working with both victims and perpetrators. You will carry and review thorough risk management plans with young people and their family, ensuring each family member has an age-appropriate safety plan, and provide a client-led support service that responds to each individual’s needs, including supporting with housing, finances, schooling, parenting, health, ETE and criminal justice. We will rely on you to deliver the service in a timely and targeted manner and to close cases effectively and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that can be used for ongoing support and agencies that can be used if serious problems develop in the future. Providing social support to children and family members, including identification of need, liaison and referral to specialist agencies, is also a key element of this role.

About the Project
Hertfordshire Mind Network is proud to provide early intervention support to children and young people experiencing poor mental health across Hertfordshire. We provide a combination of support through psychoeducational workshops, open access, 1:1 and group support.
We are expanding our provision, to offer drop in, open access community support to 10–18-year-olds across the county who need someone to talk to about their mental health in that moment. This space will offer timely support, in a person-centred, trauma informed way.
The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Herts Haven Café service are:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues, including crisis presentations, in Hertfordshire.
- To provide drop in, no referral required, timely support to 10-18 year olds.
- To support children and young people in Hertfordshire to access community based mental health help.
- To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided across the CYP MHS system.
About the Role:
The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Herts Haven Café service, facilitating drop-in mental health support for children and young people aged 10-18. As a practitioner you will meet the varying needs of the individual, as they present, meaning no day may look the same.
A person-centred approach will be maintained, and this role is pivotal to ensuring CYP have a warm and welcoming space to turn to. You will be working as a team to facilitate support, deliver brief mental health interventions, signposting, and ensure timely information, guidance and referrals are provided for ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- To play an integral role in instilling HMN’s values throughout the Herts Haven Cafe Service.
- To play a key part in the development and delivery of quality CYP mental health support services.
