This role will be at Room at the Inn @Museum Street, our 24 hour supported accommodation project.
Our aim is to provide support and short term accommodation for people aged 18+ who are homeless. To assist them to work towards independent housing by providing a settled address, personal action plan and suitable life skills programme.
The duties of this role would include:
~ Developing a personal action plan with residents
~ Assisting residents to access relevant services i.e. GP’s, Dentists, Emergency services if required
~ Assisting residents to attend relevant courses, encouraging confidence and life skills
~ Engaging with service residents to promote well-being, and progress with move on accommodation
~ Working as part of a friendly and supportive staff team
~ Attending Staff and Planning Meetings
~ Attending Staff Supervision
~ Ensuring daily Health and Safety and cleanliness of the buildings communal areas – ready for the following day, these tasks need to be done during the night shift period of 9pm – 9am

The Middlesbrough Programme on Gendered Poverty is an exciting collaborative programme bringing together Buttle UK, the Smallwood Trust and Turn2us to test whether a co-produced & collaborative approach to grant-making can transform the lives of women and their children.
The programme aims to:
- Shift power to people worst impacted by gendered poverty and work to end gendered poverty
- Develop the programme using co-production techniques so that the voices and experiences of the women and their children, who face issues created by gendered poverty, inform and shape the programme
- Deliver the programme with and to communities of the most marginalised women and their children
- Apply an evidence-based approach to our work and programme design
- Use grants as a primary response and tool, effectively and efficiently

Our Antidote service provides high quality drug & alcohol psycho-social treatment and support to LGBTQ+ people utilising harm reduction & abstinence-based methods. Antidote is a part of London Friend, the UK’s oldest LGBTQ+ charity, which aims to support and promote health & wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people living in the London area.
The largest focus of Antidote’s work is chemsex. Over recent years a need has emerged for rehabilitative support for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) who are part of the criminal justice system linked with chemsex-related offending.
We have recently been awarded an Innovation Grant to deliver a pilot project with HMPPS aimed at supporting this cohort of men serving community sentences or leaving prison. The pilot will test one to one and group support. It will also work with prison and probation staff to improve a drug treatment pathway, including working in HMP Thameside and with their healthcare team to improve knowledge and awareness of chemsex for prison-based staff and to implement a smooth transition into community-based drug treatment on release.
The post holder will provide support to GBMSM referred through the pilot. They will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. They will develop and deliver new group programmes for this cohort of GBMSM and work collaboratively with prison and probation staff. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, including information used to monitor and evaluate the pilot.
They will also assist with the delivery of Antidote’s services, including our walk-in clinics and group programmes, with a priority on identifying and supporting clients within the criminal justice system.
The post-holder will take an active anti-discriminatory, anti-racism and trans-inclusive approach around all areas of work and will be an active member of both London Friend and our partnerships and will support with the aims & objectives of both services.

The Hospital IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) will be employed by FearFree to develop pathways and processes primarily in Maternity Services and Emergency Department (ED) at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT). This is a fixed term position until April 2025.
The Hospital IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service embedded within the hospital to ensure all staff are aware of Domestic Abuse (DA) and equipped to ask the right questions and encourage both patients and staff to engage with the support the Hospital IDVA will bring to this environment.
The post holder will assist health practitioners to respond more effectively to domestic abuse, particularly those with complex and multiple needs, and will bring specialist knowledge and skills in empowering clients to seek the right support and move forward.
The work will include providing specialist knowledge and expertise to other health care practitioners to ensure victims of domestic abuse (and their children) are safeguarded from further harm, to provide a strong partnership approach to service provision.
Priority will be given to medium and high-risk cases that are employees and patients of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) – those who do not live in Wiltshire to be sign-posted to specialist support within their local authority area. To work with all victims of abuse that have health related needs in the Wiltshire area.
Key elements of the role include:
- Providing priority support to both patients and staff at the hospital.
- Delivering Domestic Abuse training to all staff at the hospital equipping them to recognise all forms of Domestic Abuse and ensuring they are confident in starting those conversations.
- Risk assessing and helping to keep service users safe through safety planning.
- Enabling victims to access and engage with statutory and other services.
- Engaging with and supporting the MARAC process, to ensure that the voice of victims is heard.
- Managing a caseload of medium to high-risk victims and working proactively to support them and their families.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with additional services relevant to this field.
- Ensure services and resources are appropriate and tailored to services users needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Hold a caseload and provide high-quality telephone and face to face crisis intervention, information, advocacy, support and signposting to both staff and patients at the hospital who have been identified as victims of Domestic Abuse.
- Proactively assess the needs and risks of clients regularly in line with FearFree policies and procedures, having full regard for case management, MARAC and safeguarding adults and children policies and procedures.
- Complete risk and safety plans for all clients, ensuring risk management and safety is at the heart of everything we do in line with company standards.
- Ensure all records comply with compliance and quality standards and information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Engage with all relevant support agencies, acting as the “voice” of both staff and patient victims to seek support to address specific identified barriers.
- Support all caseloads to access external support and sign-post where appropriate to enable caseload to engage with other organisations who can support them on their road to recovery.
- Work proactively to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse and upskill all staff within the hospital to be able to identify potential Domestic Abuse, and seek support from the Hospital IDVA.
- Attend regular safeguarding and domestic abuse meetings within the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) and health related settings to discuss active cases as required by the manager.
- Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children of the client and ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed directly with them, having full regard to Safeguarding Children’s policy and complying with the Local Safeguarding Children requirements.
- Advise clients of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies, making referrals, attending appointments with them when required, co-ordinating the provision of multi-agency support where necessary, and proactively advocating to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced.
- Proactively look for and implement innovative and creative ways of engaging vulnerable and hard to reach victims, particularly those with multiple needs, and sustain the engagement.
- Participate in multi-agency conferences and meetings in respect of children and adults at risk as required, providing reports and undertaking actions as necessary.
- Work in partnership with key agencies, particularly with Health agencies, to ensure effective joint working.
- At all times protect the safety and security of service users, staff, volunteers and buildings, and the confidentiality of records and other information in line with data protection requirements.

About this key role
As our specialist worker you will provide peer supervisory support to the team within the wider hospital based services, which includes deputising for the Senior Caseworker, and supporting the Data Coordinator and Senior Caseworker with the collation of information and data for project monitoring purposes. We will also count on you to develop and maintain strong relationships with clinicians and hospital staff, while also identifying onward referral pathways with other services in the hospital such as CAMHS, IDVA, COMPASS and other statutory and voluntary sectors in the community.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will also help to identify and assess young victims of violence and to provide support, advice and advocacy for both them and their families as they plan to be discharged from hospital back into the community. You will produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments and deliver a holistic support service that includes practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, appearing in court, DIY work and cleaning.
What we are looking for
• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families.
• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people and establishing links to further the aims of a project.
• Experience of using support plans to enable people to successfully access support services.
• Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people.

Due to project expansion Aquarius Young People’s Substance misuse team are recruiting for several Complex Needs Substance Misuse Practitioners across the city.
Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.
The post holder will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools & colleges, the Children and Families service, the YOT as well as other local community agencies. The role will involve supporting young people away from engaging in substance misuse or with an understanding of parental substance misuse.
You will provide young people with skills and coping strategies to manage their recovery journey, delivering 1-1 and some group work interventions, targeted outreach to engage 'hard-to-reach' young people and delivery of service talks and substance misuse presentations to enhance external professional workforce development with our partner agencies.
Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, most work will occur during the day, however as a young people’s service we may occasionally ask you to support out of hours sessional work.
Holding a relevant qualification in substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/ mental health/social care or with relevant experience and willingness to work towards a Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care you will also:
• Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable young people in a community setting.
• Be able to deliver behaviour change support, including group work.
• Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity and Hidden Harm.
• Adopt a flexible approach to work - hours and locations.

Senior Youth Participation Officer
Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Senior Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!
The post holder will coordinate and develop our new young people drop-in programme and additional youth action programmes, aimed at engaging local young people into the work of FYA. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of the drop-in sessions, as well as deliver some youth led social action programmes. The role will include recruiting young people, engaging them in co-producing fun and creative activities and workshops which will take place at the drop-ins, as well as supporting them in planning and delivering the social action programmes.
Typically, sessions will occur Sundays (TBC) and young people from the ages 8 to 18 will attend. We are also planning to start a second drop-in session from September, which is likely to run on a Friday evening.
The post holder will support young people to plan some social action programmes directly, as well as support young people into other youth-led community action programmes at FYA.
Examples of projects include youth-led football tournaments, street parties and festivals and peer education activities.

Harrow Carers work in Partnership with Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow & Brent to deliver a Discharge Support Service in Northwick Park Hospital and we are looking to recruit a Service Coordinator to help us in supporting vulnerable older people in Harrow and Brent who have been in hospital and are now ready for discharge. The service delivers transport home, settle in visits, follow up and community support.
The Service Coordinator will act as the point of contact for the Hospital Discharge and ward teams for referrals. The Service Coordinator will then coordinate the support workers and volunteers to deliver the service - and will be part of the delivery themselves.
A key part of the role will be to ensure there is good communication with patients and clinicians. You will also need to monitor delivery, oversee record keeping and ensure service quality.
Please note there is no personal or clinicial care involved in this role.
