The Opportunity:

As a Project Officer, your role will be central to cultivating impactful partnerships and overseeing a protfolio of projects that resonate with our mission. You will be instrumental in developing and nurturing relationships, managing grants, evaluating potential projects, and ensuring compliance with UK charity commission regulations. This role is a blend of strategy, passion, and diligence, requiring occasional travel to oversee international projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Identify and nurture new partnerships while strengthening existing ones to maximise our impact on beneficiaries.
2. Oversee grant management, including the evaluation of potential new projects and partners.
3. Proposal Development: Conceptualise, develop, and write proposals, prepare budgets, and pitch projects/programmes to funders and collaborators.
4. Ensure alignment with UK charity commission regulations and BIF policies, liaising with branch offices and delivery partners for grant compliance.
5. Travel as necessary to facilitate and monitor projects, ensuring global standards and organisational goals are met.

Competencies and Qualifications:

1. Demonstrated ability in leading projects with strategic foresight and effective project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
2. Familiarity with UK charity commission regulations and experience ensuring compliance with international standards in project execution.
3. Proven ability to develop partnerships and write compelling proposals, coupled with effective budget management skills.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse cultural environments. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
5. Robust analytical abilities with a talent for solving complex problems and providing strategic insights.
6. A degree in a relevant field such as International Development or Project Management, and experience in the non-profit sector, preferably in health-related fields.
7. Fluency in English, with Arabic or other languages being advantageous. Experience in leading and motivating teams towards achieving organisational goals.
8. Understanding of financial management principles and a commitment to ethical practices, aligning with BIF’s core values and mission.

Programme Manager

Location: Fully remote; preferably in Liverpool/North West England. International candidates working as independent consultants will also be considered.

Hours: Part time, flexible working arrangements (32 hours)

About Worldwide Radiology (WWR)

We are medical experts applying our skills and knowledge to make a difference in the world. We bring together the global community of medical imaging professionals to make the case for diagnostic imaging.

Since 2017, Worldwide Radiology has been steadily growing from a small group of founding UK radiologists with experience of working in limited resource settings to an international team of around 50 long-term volunteers from a range of different imaging and clinical backgrounds.

We support the development of appropriate, high quality imaging services in low and middle income countries; from central teaching hospitals to remote district clinics. We work together with our partners to build the necessary skills and capacity to improve patient care and we aim to increase opportunities for imaging research focused on local or national healthcare priorities.

Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.

​

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our volunteers, partners and donors to build and nurture strong working relationships. 

​

They will contribute to seeking out further grant opportunities within the sector, working closely with the rest of the programmes team and the fundraising team.

​

The key responsibilities of this post are as follows:

​

(a) oversee the smooth running of our projects; 

(b) provide strong, holistic solutions, focused on operational leadership; and 

(c) support the overall growth and development of the organisation.
 

Role-Specific Responsibilities

1. Provide overall day-to-day management for WWR projects and WWR volunteers, reporting directly to the WWR Director.

2. Oversee the development and operational execution of detailed work-plans and budgets for WWR programme

3. Track all milestones and reporting schedules, taking timely action to ensure they are met.

4. Develop and deliver project MEAL activities in collaboration with our external MEAL consultant.

5. Produce (gather, collate and edit)  high quality, timely project progress, annual and donor-specific reports.

6. Oversee the management of partnership agreements and contracts in accordance with the donor specific requirements.

7. Support the identification and securing of new grant opportunities in collaboration with the programmes and fundraising teams.

8. Communicate administrative and technical information to WWR project partners in a timely, sensitive and effective manner.

9. Assist team members, volunteers, partners and members of the public with queries, demonstrating tact and understanding when dealing with complex and serious issues, deliver a consistently high and appropriate level of service and support to individuals contacting WWR.

10. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and management of both UK and international WWR volunteers.
     

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.

• Experience in grant or contract management in a humanitarian or development environment.

• Demonstrable experience of adhering to principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management and administration of programmes and project lifecycles.

• Demonstrable experience of applying monitoring systems and managing budgets.

• Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable

• Experience working in the nonprofit sector.

• An understanding of global health.

• Experience of working across international partnerships.

These are newly created administrative roles to increase capacity in Londonwide LMCs, the membership organisation representing approximately 7,000 NHS General Practitioners in nearly 1,200 practice teams in London, providing pan-London leadership and shared committee services for its members. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Primary Care team which supports committee effectiveness and ensures representation within Local Medical Committees within London. The post holder will report to the Director of Primary Care, working across local committees within the Primary Care team.

The focus of this role is to provide administrative support to Local Medical Committees, enabling the smooth running of Committee meetings. It would be helpful if candidates have a contextual understanding of the health environment or other public sector environments that we work in, along with excellent administration and note-taking skills. We would like to hear from candidates who have experience of:

• Owning the administrative tasks required to ensure Committee meetings have professional and timely agendas, papers and minutes/action records.
• Attending Committee meetings to support the facilitation of the meetings and ensuring accurate record keeping of meeting content.
• Working flexibly to provide cover across teams and for other Committee Administrators across Londonwide as required.

As an organisation, we work flexibly, and regular home working is supported. The post is contractually based at our offices located in central London near Euston where we host quarterly connect days for all staff. Whilst regular home working is supported, some travel or office attendance may be required to attend preplanned meetings. 

We have two full-time (35 hours per week), permanent posts available, but applicants seeking part-time/job-share roles are welcomed. The salary for the role will be £30,000 pa plus membership of the group personal pension scheme with a 16% employer pension contribution (£4,800 making total remuneration £34,800). Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Safeguarding professional with a strong interest in protecting adults at risk and children from within the wider Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Community?

Based within our Helpline Services team, you’ll have responsibility for:

• responding to concerns reported by staff and volunteers
• leading the coordination of responding to safeguarding concerns
• dealing with safeguarding issues (as they arise) and liaising with statutory services as needed
• giving advice and support to colleagues and our volunteers in relation to safeguarding and disclosure checking
• working collaboratively with colleagues across the MS Society
• liaising with external safeguarding agencies
• embedding organisational safeguarding policies, procedures and practices.

You’ll have experience of working in a safeguarding customer-facing environment within the Charity or Public Service sectors. You’ll have proficient administrative and IT skills with the ability to work accurately and consistently. You’ll ideally have had experience in supporting vulnerable people in person, over the phone and/or online. 

An understanding of safeguarding within the charity or public service sectors is essential. 

A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check without barring list check will need to be obtained to undertake this role.

Governance Administrator

The Governance Administrator is an integral role at the College as you will provide administrative support to the Governance and Committees team, ensuring core College activities are delivered and that the Annual General Meeting is supported to the highest standards.

As Governance Administrator, you will support with the administration for the Board of Trustees, including the organising of meetings, meeting preparation (agenda/minutes etc) and handling all enquiries on the phone, via email and in person. You will also liaise with internal and external suppliers to organise catering, audio visual requirements and to arrange appropriate room setups.

Reporting to the Governance and Committees Manager, you will support with the College’s members elections, appointments and appraisal process to ensure that the process runs smoothly, whilst assisting with the tracking of diversity in RCPCH Committees and Volunteers. You will also support the ongoing improvement of volunteer recruitment, retention and reward.

As well as assisting the Committees/Governance Teams in website editing, SharePoint and with the administration of various board platforms to enhance digital collaboration, you will help by streamlining content management and optimising the overall efficiency of our online presence.

Educated to a good standard, you should have substantial administrative, interpersonal and communication skills, and be capable of presenting information in a fluent and persuasive manner to people at a range of levels.

With outstanding organisational skills, you should have proven experience of supporting either large scale events (such as an AGM) or smaller Committee meetings.

You should also have experience of running online meetings (Zoom, MS Teams or other online platforms) and have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. 

Experience of Membership organisations and of Charity governance, including election processes, as well as experience of dealing with senior stakeholders would be desirable.

The post holder will be expected to attend the Annual General Meeting (held regionally) which may require an overnight stay of a minimum of 1 night. 

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community. 

The RCPCH has more than 22,000 members and fellows and employs around 200 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
