About Hope for the Young
Hope for the Young is on a mission to remove the obstacles to young refugees and asylum-seeker’s education and well-being through a bespoke package of one-to-one mentoring, advocacy, and financial support.
Founded in 2008, Hope for the Young has grown from a small grant-making charity led by its Trustees to an organisation that, last year, worked closely alongside 135 young people, with 11 staff members, and 150 dedicated volunteer mentors.
Our Mentoring Programme operates London-wide and matches young refugees and asylum-seekers aged 16-25 with trained volunteer mentors who provide tailored one-to-one support and advice according to their needs.
Our Grants and Advocacy Programme promotes equal access to education for young refugees and asylum-seekers across the UK whose immigration status makes them ineligible for student finance, and those who are facing extreme financial hardship. About the Role
As our Fundraising and Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and expanding our impact so that more young refugees can access the education and one-to-one support they need to rebuild their lives in the UK. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic fundraising campaigns, cultivating relationships with donors and supporters, writing funding applications, and effectively communicating our message to a range of audiences.

- Develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies to generate substantial income towards Hope for the Young’s programmes.

Key responsibilities

The role
This is an important and exciting post for the organisation and as the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading best practice financial reporting and analysis for the charity. This is impactful and broad Head of Finance role, but to give an idea of focus, the core areas of delivery will include:
- Statutory accounts & audit – act as the primary contact for the external auditor, ensure the accounts are consistent with financial standards requirements and delivered on time

Purpose of job:

This industry leading INGO is currently seeking a Deputy Director of Donor Finance to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis. This critical position holds ultimate financial responsibility for their largest directorate, including providing leadership and guidance to the internationally based finance teams, to maintaining and developing longer term plans and being accountable for financial performance against budget.
The key duties of this Deputy Director of Donor Finance are as follows:
- Ensure the maintenance of the directorate’s 2030 financial plan.
- Drive the development of the directorate’s annual business plan and subsequent budget cycle, validating financials and assumptions prior to submission.
- Provide critical challenge of all actual vs budget analysis. Ensuring all risks and opportunities have been understood and accurately captured.
- Business partner with the Country Directors to ensure their finance teams are operating at the highest efficiency level, providing opportunities for upskilling as required.
- Regularly produce reports for and present to the Head Office senior management team, keeping them abreast of in-country programme progress.
- Full responsibility for ensuring donor and year-end audits are conducted in accordance with respective standards, acting as the key point of escalation for anything high risk.
- Work closely with the COO in the development of working papers for the Board and Trustees, attending meetings to present the financials as required.

Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates in the UK and Europe regularly top 80%. But for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak with their chance of survival falling to 20%.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of our work in Bangladesh & Nepal, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to high standard. The role will include responsibility for building relationships with partners and potential new partners. Person Specification
Essential:
- 3 to 5 years international development experience preferably in the field of global health
- Understands theory and practice of Health System Strengthening.
- Understands theory and practice of capacity building programming.
- Knowledge of programme design and planning of complex programmes, including logframes and theories of change.
- Track record of financial management skills, including budget management and planning
- Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills.
- Proven experience in building relationships and working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
Desirable:
- Experience living and working in low middle income countries, preferably in Asia.
- Experience working with healthcare professionals both in the UK and abroad.

Terms of Employment
- Hours: Part-time (3 days per week)
- Location: UK based, hybrid role: Home working for the time being, with the provision for regular meetings in the office. Office attendance encouraged on Mondays (nr Fenchurch Street, London)
- Contract: Part-time Maternity Cover (subject to successful completion of 3 months’ probation)
- Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 Full Time Equivalent (will be pro rata for 3 days per week)

Your main duties will include:

- Have oversight of bids and tenders, taking responsibility for critical appraisal, including go/no go decisions; working in partnership with the Tender & Bids Team, BD Co-ordinators, Operations and Finance to deliver winning submissions that promote the Dimensions brand and differentiate us from our competitors.
- Ensure a focus on account management, with an overview of all regional partnerships, working with colleagues to deliver a coherent approach to partnership development and external relationship management.
