Harris Hill are delighted to be working a Surrey based Carer’s charity to recruit an Individual Giving Officer. In this newly created role you will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individual supporters to make a difference to the carer’s the charity supports.
As Individual Giving Officer you will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and upgrade individual donors, ensuring a steady and growing stream of funding and support for the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with individual donors to maximise financial support
- Planning and executing individual giving campaigns, leveraging all available communication channels to engage donors effectively.
- Organising and coordinating donor events, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement and recognition.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align fundraising strategies with organisational goals.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of a comprehensive individual giving strategy.
This position would ideally suit a candidate with;
Proven experience in individual fundraising, legacy fundraising, donor relations, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Familiarity with fundraising databases and CRM systems.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in individual giving and philanthropy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
This is a homeworking role, however you will be required to be present at the Leatherhead office and events on a semi-regular basis, so is most suitable for candidates within a commutable distance.

We are seeking an Interim CEO for a local charity delivering services to vulnerable people in Bedfordshire to lead the organisation through a period of strategic growth and renewed purpose. As Interim Chief Executive Officer, you will collaborate with the Board of Trustees to drive the charity’s vision and oversee operational excellence, as well as strengthen partnerships, explore income generation avenues, and serve as a visible advocate within the community.
As our Interim CEO, you will provide overall leadership of our committed team, enabling them to deliver on existing commissioned contracts. You will develop other income sources to reduce reliance on contract funding and explore strategic possibilities for the charity.
Key details:
• Role: Interim CEO at a service-delivery charity (temp to perm possible for candidates who seek it)
• Location: Bedfordshire – flexible working with 2 days per week on site
• Salary: circa £ 70,000 (pro-rata if part time)
• Duration: 12 months
• Hours: Full time, but open to applications from experienced leaders looking for 3 days per week.

Essential Criteria
• Demonstrable track record of managing a charitable organisation or other relevant statutory or voluntary agency or similar type of organisation, including evidence of moving it forward.
• Demonstrable track record of being an effective networker and advocate for an organisation.
• Experience of joint working in partnership with a range of professionals at a senior level.
• Evidence of leading a team to achieve objectives.
• Evidence of leading cultural change.
• Experience of leading organisational change.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
• Commitment to service user involvement.
• Commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
• Ability to travel around Bedfordshire independently, preferably in own car.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Desirable Criteria
• Previous experience of handling successful fundraising and communications strategies within a charity would be a significant advantage.
• Management qualification and demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Ability to design and develop quality and governance systems.
Success in the role will entail:
• Positioning and Communications: Enhancing the charity’s visibility and understanding of its services through clear communication strategies targeting fundraising, commissioning, and corporate markets.
• Improved Revenue Streams: Securing increased funding through grants, corporate fundraising, and long-term strategies for specific services. Expand services into new markets while maintaining existing contracts.
• People and Culture: Fostering a positive work culture that supports staff and clients alike, reducing turnover and improving collaboration with related organisations. Enhance staff training and support mechanisms.
• Control Processes: Improving financial management by transitioning support services, leading to better cash flow, budgeting, and in-house control. Implementing robust operational processes and training to ensure effective monitoring and reporting.
