Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Purpose of the job/About the role
Research is a key element in Dementia UK’s strategic aims and runs throughout all our approaches to supporting people with dementia and their families. Our research is focused on care not cure, helping to improve lives and support our Admiral Nurses.
As part of the Research and Publications Team, we are currently seeking a Research Team Administrator to support in the delivery of the Dementia UK Research Strategy.
The team administrator will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to the Research and Publications (R&P) team, aiding in their operational efficiency, research, and development activities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the research and publications databases, as well as updating and managing the R&P webpages. Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing the team inbox, handling inquiries, and assisting in the management of the team budget. Additionally, you will provide support to team members with their travel arrangements and serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders as needed.
The ideal candidate will have previously worked in an administrative role with experience of preparing and drafting meeting papers, taking minutes, and coordinating meetings. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is essential, along with a track record of arranging meetings, teleconferences, and events. With excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills you will be confident communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as meeting deadlines and managing workloads through effective prioritising, time-management, and organisational skills.

An exciting opportunity to work on WCRF International’s Global Cancer Update Programme
World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRFI) leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe and the Americas. Our shared vision is a world where no one develops a preventable cancer.
WCRFI is responsible for the Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global) which is our global cancer prevention and survival programme focussing on the links between diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer. Forming the cornerstone of all our work, the project is the only authoritative scientific resource of its kind in the world.
We are seeking a Head of Research Interpretation who will be responsible for managing the delivery of CUP Global. You will chair the CUP Global Secretariat and also provide support to the Assistant Director of Research and Policy and the Director of Research, Policy and Innovation in the oversight and strategic direction of the programme of work. You will also contribute to other projects such as ensuring that the WCRF network has the latest global cancer statistics, including new estimates of the preventability of cancer.
You will be educated to PhD level, with ideally at least 2 years postdoctoral experience in a research environment, in a relevant area (e.g. nutrition, cancer, epidemiology, public health). You will have a good understanding of public health and epidemiology, nutrition and/or cancer and have experience of conducting and/or interpreting systematic reviews. You will have strong people management skills, with direct line management experience.

You will lead them in line with the vision, mission and values of the charity and work to fulfil the goals of our strategic plan. You will manage our volunteer-led Branches and Support groups who offer peer support, fundraising opportunities and activities locally. As the Training Programmes Manager you will have oversight and responsibility for the healthcare professional training projects and activities, as well as growing the M4RD network within HCP groups and training institutions.
You will be key to rolling out Rare Disease 101 training for healthcare professionals all over the UK and potentially abroad. While you are not expected to deliver training yourself you will be pivotal to creating opportunities and facilitating all aspects of the programme.

To be successful in this role you must have
* Experience in a Community and/ or Corporate fundraising role
* Extensive experience of recruiting, supporting and stewarding fundraisers or volunteers
* Extensive experience of building successful internal and external relationships
* Experience of managing multiple priorities simultaneously while still providing the highest level of customer care to all supporters
* Experience of financial budgeting and reporting
* Experience of working with fundraising databases, preferably Raiser's Edge

The main responsibilities of the interim Income Officer are:
- Process and enter donations and other income into the CRM database.
- Process and enter cheque donations to the CRM database and reconcile for banking
- Raise credit notes for cancellation and corrections
- Reviewing and reconciling bank statements to ensure all income is captured and entered into the CRM system accurately
My client is looking for:
- Experience in income processing is essential
- Experience in using the CRM Raiser's Edge is desirable.
- Experience in the charity sector is highly desirable
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Based in Central London, my client offers hybrid working, with 1 day a week based in the office and the rest working remotely for the full duration of the contract.
