Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As a key member of the team, the Grants Officer will work closely with the Head of Charity and colleagues across the team to build a sustainable funding pipeline to help generate significant growth by securing grants by:

• Personally securing substantial gifts from Trusts and Foundations (up to £150k)
• Delivering income targets, in line with the annual budget, from a portfolio of Trusts and Corporate Foundations
• Responsibility for researching Trusts and Corporate Foundations in alignment with a wide variety of projects and appeals that address the needs of BTH
• Developing high-quality bids/applications/cases for support for a variety of funders
• Managing stewardship activities for Trusts and Corporate Foundations, including tracking of reports and payments
• Working proactively with contacts within the Trust to identify and scope opportunities to maximise impact and income
• Working effectively with operational and clinical staff to develop and implement opportunities to foster and strengthen long-term relationships with donors and Trust representatives
• Supporting and developing new engagement events and communications
• Supporting the wider team with large communication, stewardship, or impact reporting activities
• Work collaboratively with the Charity Team to develop a new system for collaborative working in regards to Corporate Foundations, COTY applications, and other written bids for support.
• Develop and manage processes for corporate foundation grants to ensure appropriate banking, thanking, reporting and stewardship is undertaken for all corporate foundation grants.
• Create compelling, high-quality applications that meet the unique expectations of corporate supporters.
• Develop regular activity reports and updates on donor funded activities that clearly indicate progress and impact
• Use, update and develop the CRM database to record approach and grant information, meaningful activities and learning, and to generate portfolio management reports.
• Work collaboratively with the Charity Team to develop and implement engagement and stewardship plans in alignment with existing corporate giving plans, including special events.
• Host visits to BTH by donors or Trustees, ensuring the visit maximises the opportunity to improve the relationship.
• Engage with colleagues across the Trust to identify success and excellence stories to share with our supporters.
• Produce materials such as Impact Reports, website information, Cases for Support and Newsletters appropriate for Major Donors and Trusts with support of the Communications team.
• Ensure that all written communications and materials produced comply with design standards; brand guidelines and appropriate legislation (e.g. style guides, document templates, legal wordings, charities legislation requirements etc).
• Undertake any other task that is commensurate with the post as requested

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Evidence of high-levels of numeracy and literacy and good general level of education
• Degree qualification, in relevant business-related subject, or equivalent experience to degree level

Desirable criteria

• Externally accredited qualification such as IoF Foundation in Fundraising Practice
• Fundraising specific training to degree level, e.g. proposal writing, negotiation skills etc., or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria

• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising income targets by writing bids and securing medium value gifts (£10k-£150k) within a Trusts and/or Major Donor Fundraising environment
• Experience researching prospects, including Trusts/Foundations and major donors, and managing data/prospects within a CRM system
• Knowledge of GDPR/data protection laws
• Self-motivated and self-directing; strong time management skills; strong attention to detail; flexible; and honest, with a high degree of personal integrity.
• High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal skills: a ‘people person’. Be able to empathise with people’s stated needs and emotional drivers.

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of fundraising trends and experience conducting market research
• Experience of fundraising within a complex organisatione.g. NHS, university etc.

About the role

We’re recruiting for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to steer us in the next stage of our journey. This is an exciting development of an existing role at Overcoming MS and will allow the successful candidate to make the position their own.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivering an innovative new digital marketing approach, through the innovation, creation and delivery of projects and activities which increase leads, donations and engagement for Overcoming MS charity.

 Key Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Manager will work across several areas, including:

1. Conversion optimisation

· Increasing our donations and data capture - to enable us to continue the dialogue and create donations from a greater percentage of those who visit our website, or interact with other digital channels.

· Working with our agency partner to optimise key landing pages and signposting for conversion.

2. User journey optimisation

· Helping people find the right content based on data optimisations so that more people find what they need and understand what else the charity could offer them. Using HotJar for insights.

· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.

3. Increasing reach and traffic generation

· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.

· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).

4. Testing to improve results continually 

· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.

· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.

5. Digital project management

· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.

6. Campaign support

· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.

7. Gathering community feedback

· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.

8. Supplier collaboration

· Working with our suppliers to optimise collaboration, reduce cost and increase impact.

About you

Strong digital skills

• A proven track record of managing digital products/projects/programmes which create value for end-users. 
• Strong working knowledge and experience in digital solutions.
• Experience in evaluating and improving existing digital programs.
• Significant experience working with 3rd party digital providers to create solutions that work for the target audience.
• Confident in Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Excellent understanding of AB testing to maximise conversion rates.
• Experience in using tools like HotJar (preferred).

This is a new role for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as we look to expand our successful Individual Giving & Lottery programmes.

The post holder will deliver quality fundraising campaigns, including Cash Appeals, Regular Giving and Lottery that will grow income, supporter base and lifetime value. Sleep difficulties and sensory needs are a large part of the role to enable veterans to live as they want to so experience in these areas would be beneficial.

You’ll work with  our community to raise awareness and increase knowledge about Parkinson’s with decision makers at a local and national level. You’ll use your knowledge of public policy in Scotland and the UK to make sure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their partners, family members and friends are heard, and help to drive changes that improve their lives. 

What you’ll do:

• Be a first point of contact for campaigners in Scotland, who want to improve services in their local area, and recruit and manage a sustainable network of local campaign volunteers specific to Scotland.

• Support the work of the Policy and Campaigns Manager to understand and influence UK wide and Scottish specific legislation, policy and practice relating to our communities and their needs

• Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and campaigners on how best to influence decision makers in Scotland.

• Use our UK-wide campaign priorities to deliver national and local campaign activity, and coordinate campaigns with other charities and organisations, where appropriate to further our goals.

Through community development we work in close collaboration with our respective Parkinson’s communities to bring change on the issues that matter most to people affected by Parkinson’s

• Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, liaising with participants and speakers, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required

Purpose of Role

Smile Train seeks a collaborative, innovative, and entrepreneurial professional for the role of Director of Fundraising, Smile Train UK. Primary responsibilities

• The Director is responsible for managing, hiring, and effectively leading the fundraising team towards the achievement of their individual targets.
• Maintains a portfolio of major donors and prospects by creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to make 5- and 6-figure annual gifts and 6- and 7-figure leadership gifts.
• The position demands experience with designing fundraising strategies and good management skills for implementing strong, prioritised and focused work plans that achieve (or exceed) the agreed organisational goals.
• Overall responsibility of the annual revenue budget, ensuring reporting requirements as defined by the VP, International Development for monthly, quarterly, and annual budget and target monitoring.
• This position shall work in tandem with the global communications team to jointly create a positive, campaign-driven image of Smile Train in the United Kingdom.
• Manage Philanthropic Advisory Council of high-level Smile Train supporters.

Experience

• Minimum seven years' experience in senior level fundraising, ideally in a leadership role with oversight over end-to-end execution. 
• Knowledge of individual, corporate, foundation and major donor fundraising methodology including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and prospecting of donors.
• Proven track record in leading fundraising and delivering income growth within a similar sized organization.
• Experience in a marketing and public relations role a plus.

Skills Required

• Minimum undergraduate university degree.
• Strong analytical skills, database proficiency and outstanding budgetary and financial skills, including target setting and monitoring and proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge and/or experience in marketing, fundraising acquisition, development and retention methods and budget management.

About the Role

This role is central to connecting supporters of Clatterbridge Cancer Charity with the challenge of their lifetime. The Challenge Events Fundraiser will promote events such as runs, marathons, abseils, bike rides and skydives. It is key to inspiring, motivating and supporting people who are raising money for the Charity by taking part in these types of events.

Purpose of the post

The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role within HDR UK, as the key point of contact and financial support for the Institute Office teams. The Finance Business Partner supports key non- finance stakeholders to provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting and supports with the alignment of financial plans to operational and strategic priorities. The role will support the HDR UK’s non- Core funds and programmatic areas and will be responsible for proactive fund financial management, supporting the Fund budget holders in ensuring appropriate planning and utilisation of the fund expenditure. Main responsibilities

• Work with Budget Holders to manage financial performance, forecasts, and budgeting including understanding financial opportunities and risk for the area of business partnership.
• Hold responsibility for the financial management of a number of large and strategic funds, including financial reporting to funders and maximising fund utilisation.
• Lead on monthly reporting to Programme teams, including posting month end journals, meeting with Budget Holders to discuss performance and budget variance and providing commentary and analysis on reports.
• Work with the Associate Directors of the Finance team to plan, deliver, and review the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

Description

We have a very exciting opportunity for anyone who enjoys working on the front-line of patient support across the Gloucester region.

This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the region. This varied role deals with every aspect of a patient’s life that supports better outcomes: welfare benefits, practical, emotional and social support. As well as directly supporting patients, you will raise awareness of the wide range of local and national resources available to kidney patients, and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other stakeholder groups in the region.

Based at home (laptop and mobile phone provided), you will be expected to travel independently across the Gloucester area and manage your own caseload with the support of your line manager and other members of our national friendly, committed team.

We’ll provide the training, you’ll bring enthusiasm and your experience of working with chronically ill patients in a social, care or health role.
