The Head of South England & Wales is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in South England & Wales. This role will lead our team of Network Leads and Area Managers as they empower every food bank to orientate their work towards ending the need for their services through the provision of bespoke support, enabling them to reduce the numbers of people requiring emergency food. This role will work with key national partners in South England and Wales to support our network to tackle the underlying drivers of poverty.

Role responsibilities

· Responsible, as a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team for leading the delivery of the Trussell Trust strategy for ending the need for food banks in South England and Wales, working to embed the Changing Communities, Changing Minds and Changing Policy programmes across the network.

· Lead the Area team in South England and Wales to ensure the safe and effective operations of the food bank network, in partnership Trussell Trust’s People Directorate.

· Oversee the investment in and upskilling of our Area team to ensure they have the capacity, skills and resources required to deliver the five-year strategy and support to food banks.

· Drive the delivery of the baseline service for food banks across South England and Wales, ensuring tools, resources, services and systems are fit for purpose and tailored to local contexts.

· Oversee the effective roll-out of strategic projects, partnerships and resources to food banks across South England and Wales, in collaboration with other Directorates, that help to reduce the need for food banks and tackle the underlying drivers of poverty.

Our Voice team is a key part of the Policy, Communications and Voice Directorate, which synthesises our policy, research, campaigning, voice, media & brand, digital and communication work. 9. Take the lead role in ensuring the youthwork database (Plinth) is maintained and kept up to date, and reports are produced for CE and trustees. 

10. Support the Fundraising Team on fundraising activities where necessary. 

The job is not limited to the above duties, as the organisation develops and at different times of the year the priorities may shift leading to additional reasonable responsibilities as the role requires. 
 

ABOUT YOU 

1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in charity fundraising or impact evaluation.

• contribute to the development and training of colleagues to drive best practise in contract management;

You will be a qualified solicitor (English law) with 2+ years PQE,
To be successful, you'll need:

• A combination of commercial and contract law experience gained in-house or in a pro-active private practice environment

• To display high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality at all times; and

Supporter Engagement Manager

Age UK Richmond upon Thames are a local independent charity supporting older people across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We provide a wide range of useful and well utilised services designed to improve wellbeing and enhance independence. Our friendly and committed team of 45 staff and 100+ volunteers support around 4,000 local older people each year. 

We have created this new role within the charity, as we look to the future. The population of Richmond upon Thames is expected to continue to grow older over coming years. New generations of older people will have different needs and expectations for us to respond to in partnership. Our local health & social care partners will need us to find new ways of providing support that will reduce pressure on them. We will also need to adapt to a more challenging financial environment. This challenging but rewarding new position has been created to help us respond to some of these challenges and opportunities.

We are working in partnership with the Pontesbury Project, who are looking to appoint an experienced Registered Care Manager (NVQ level 5 qualified) to help lead the service, and ensure the continued growth and development of their care provision and maintaining outstanding quality care.

Pontesbury Project is a local charity providing care and homes to adults with learning difficulties in a caring, fulfilling, meaningful and nurturing environment. The Project now cares for around 16 residents, has 13 properties, and employs around 50 staff who provide high quality, specialist, person centred support to individuals some of whom have severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, many of whom require 1-to-1 support. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for care to help lead the service. The new Registered Care Manager will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, playing a significant and valued role working alongside the Nominated Individual and Trustees to ensure the service develops, continues to perform at the highest-level and adheres to all legislative requirements. In addition, the successful candidate must meet CQC Registered Manager requirements.

You will have:

• Experience of a working as a care manager or looking to take the next step in your career
• Excellent communication skills, (oral and written) enable to work closely with families, service users, team leaders, and staff
• Excellent understanding of Care Quality Commission’s regulations and standards
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, and accurate record keeping in line with all legislative requirements
• Level 5 NVQ qualification or working towards

The role – what’s involved?
