Carers Manchester is a partnership of Statutory and Voluntary Sector organisations who work together the plan, enhance and deliver advice and support services for unwaged carers in the city. Through working together, the Carers Manchester Pathway is in place, which supports carers being able to access the right advice and support at the right time in their caring journey.

Gaddum plays a key role in managing the development of the Carers Manchester Pathway, in supporting a Network of Voluntary sector organisations and ensuring that the carers voice is heard in everything that we do.

Following the recent award of a new contract to deliver these services we are looking for a Project Worker to support us in developing a Respite strategy for Manchester unpaid carers and developing and Expert by Experience Carers panel which will ensure that the carers voice is heard in everything we do. Amongst the core tasks in this role will be to:

• Support the creation of project management tools for these pieces of work and maintain them. 

• Lead on consultation activities for the Respite strategy

• Support the recruitment of carers who may wish to be involved with the Expert by Experience panel 

You could be the person we are looking for if you have: 

• Experience of supporting organisations to manage projects. 

• Experience of working in a collaborative manner with carers or other groups of people 

• Ability to manage work with a range of partners in order to support delivery of projects within clear timescales. 

• Ability to negotiate, influence and solve problems effectively and diplomatically.

Domestic Abuse Worker (Refuge)

Morgan Hunt is working with a leading, national domestic abuse charity to recruit a Domestic Abuse Worker for their services in Salford. This is a full time, temporary role whilst permanent recruitment takes place and will involve working across two refuges supporting those fleeing domestic violence.

As a Domestic Abuse Worker, you will be responsible for;

• Managing an allocated caseload of women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
• Completing safety plans and risk assessments for those living within the refugee.
• Completing support plans personalised to the needs of those living within the refuge.
• Providing advice and guidance to those fleeing domestic abuse, whilst signposting to appropriate external organisations where necessary.
• Ensuring accurate, up to date case notes for each resident.
• Liaising with external agencies and professionals around the needs of each resident within the refuge.
• Ensuring the refuge is a clean, safe environment for those living within the refuge.
• Supporting residents with benefit applications and housing applications for long term accommodation.

The candidate - Domestic Abuse Worker

• Experience of supporting those fleeing domestic abuse.
• An understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and or other vulnerabilities i.e. severe and enduring mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse.
• The ability to manage challenging behaviours.
• An understanding of safeguarding and how to respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately.

As the role involves covering two refuges, the candidate will be required to driver. A current Enhanced DBS is also essential for this role.

About the role:

This role is based at Accrington. This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. As a MARRAC Coordinator you will:

• Work with the MARRAC Team Leader & partner agencies to contribute/support the initial assessment process
• Review internal systems to check if victims are known or open to internal services
• Provide any updates; follow up calls including immediate safety & support needs for the victims & their children
• Attend MARRAC meetings to present the voice of the victim
• Contribute towards interventions, helping to design a multi agency safety plan to protect victims

• Contribute to review discussions on closure to MARRAC

• experience of working with high risk victims of domestic abuse & ideally hold an IDVA accreditation

Job Purpose: The project aims to deliver a range of trauma-informed learning and development opportunities to women impacted by the criminal justice system. Delivered in our Manchester and Trafford women’s centres, these gender responsive activities, co-produced with women with lived experience, will provide personal and practical skill development that meets their needs and supports their aspirations around employment or education, including a focus on wellbeing and practical learning.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Co-ordinate and deliver a schedule of trauma informed and gender responsive workshops that aim to address wellbeing and reduce barriers women impacted by the CJS face in accessing employment or education opportunities.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, such as lived experience groups, education, training and employment networks and local services.
4. Create opportunities for women impacted by the criminal justice system to input into the programme, such as co-production, and peer supporters

Snow Camp is a ground-breaking national youth charity, and we are looking to recruit a fantastic new North West Wellbeing Manager and Programme Support to join our North West team on a 4 day a week contract (30 hrs).

Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people, taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports and will be responsible for the delivery of our wellbeing workshops and providing 1to1 wellbeing support sessions to young people. You will also work as part of the North West team to assist with the planning and delivery of snowsports and life-skills focused youth activities run by the Programme Manager and assist with the apprenticeship programme throughout each year.

Experience of working successfully with under-served young people in a range of settings, with a focus on supporting young people’s wellbeing will be essential to the post. Passion for snowsports and supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Youth work, wellbeing support experience, project management, logistical skills, managing relationships, communication and presentation skills will make up the role. Along with experience of delivering group workshops to help young people work towards meaningful goals to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Job Description

• You will spend roughly 2.5 days will be in the Wellbeing Manager role and 1.5 days will be in the Programme Support role each week.
• In consultation with the Programme Manager, to manage the delivery of the Wellbeing Workshops and 1to1 mentoring support needed for young people and apprentices.
• Work with the programme manager to gain the young people’s trust and confidence.
• To assist with delivery and development of The North West’s full snowsports focused journey of youth programmes which take place at Chill Factore.
• Build a good relationship with the North West Programme Manager to help provide support and guidance to young people.
• Support with the management of (currently) 3 x North West apprentices on their 1-year Snow Camp Apprenticeship programme. particularly helping to manage their wellbeing and signpost to other services where needed.

Essential Criteria

Management and support

The North West Wellbeing Manager & Programme Support will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports Morv Bett who will provide support and guidance.

The Trustee board will determine the overall direction of Snow Camp and will set the overall priorities in consultation with the Director and Senior Team.

Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.

Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.  

As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.
