Strategic Planning/Implementation and Review • Work with the Trustees to create a business plan and annual strategy to work towards achieving key organisational goals, reviewing, updating and reporting progress regularly

. • Together with the Charity Accountant agree an annual operational budget with Trustees, monitor and report financial position and support production of annual accounts

. • Negotiate contracts and identify appropriate sources of funding to maintain and develop services

. • Oversee the delivery of existing services; introduce new and enhanced services in line with strategic aims and as gaps in services are identified

. • Ensure the organisation has all necessary and appropriate policies in place

. • Oversee responsibility for Fundraising, Marketing and Training strategies. 

External Relations • Act as principal spokesperson and advocate for the Charity, working with key stakeholders, partners and funders to maintain and enhance its reputation. • Promote collaborative work with other relevant statutory, charitable/voluntary and corporate bodies to offer the best possible services   • Establish links and build relationships with key people of influence within Gloucestershire County Council, Integrated Care Board and NHS services. • When necessary ensure Framework documentation and associated contracts are in place to support work undertaken and appropriate tenders are submitted • Lead in negotiations for core funding,service specifications, and contracts. • Maintain links with other relevant organisations • Form and sustain links with relevant community links   • Support national campaigns that champion the issues faced by the vulnerable people the Charity supports e.g. Mencap campaigns, 

Management • Responsible for ensuring that best practice is followed in all aspects of people management from recruitment onwards in respect of employees and volunteers including regular training and supervision. • Be directly responsible for supervising members of the senior management team and other key staff as appropriate • Responsible for ensuring the requirements of the sponsorship scheme are met • Ensure tasks and individual objectives are fairly allocated to ensure delivery against the business plan. • Be accountable for quality, including with Trustees the risk management of all operational aspects of the charity business and for the accurate capture of data for reporting, record keeping and invoicing. • Oversee the development of systems, documents and procedures to support the smooth running of services.

Responsible for financial management of the charity including payroll instructions and pension administration. • Develop and produce relevant information for the monthly board of Trustee meetings. • Obtain all necessary resources and equipment. • Ensure the regular monitoring and evaluation of services, with a drive for continuous improvement. • Maintain any accreditations that have been agreed by the Board e.g. IiP

General • Ensure that the board of Trustees are appraised of opportunities and risks • Assist in keeping properties in a suitable state of order • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required

About this key role

As our Beyond the Gate Caseworker, you will provide a community-based service that engages, motivates and facilitates those on license to make progress, through a range of one-to-one sessions, group activities, training and supportive measures.  You will work with your caseload of clients to produce individual action plans that support them to overcome social inclusion barriers, including housing, substance misuse, relationships, training, employment, finance debt and benefit, and deliver a range of planned custody and community assessments and interventions that keep clients engaged, motivated, and making progress.

We will also count on you to ensure all immediate appointments on release are attended such as probation, mental health, housing and substance misuse, and the delivery of small group activities based on need, including tenancy management, emotional wellbeing, shopping on a budget.  Liaising constructively with HM Prison Service and Probation personnel to share updates and completing referrals into services as soon as possible after release and map out a support plan for this are also both key aspects of the role, as are working flexibly, covering absences for colleagues, and supporting the delivery lead.

Princess Court is a 24-hour Mental Health Supported Housing Service that provides a person-centred holistic approach to promote the recovery of the people who live here and help them regain their independence. Our role is to support them, identify and meet their diverse needs and help them on their personalised recovery journey.

This challenging front line role comes with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, contracts, staff and building maintenance. Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical support and training to people affected by homelessness and addictions so they can rebuild their lives. 1. Identifying SCT residents and students ready to pursue ETE opportunities: 

• Collaborate with SCT tutors and managers, particularly the Therapeutic Programme Manager and Supported Housing Manager, to identify those who may benefit from the support on offer. 

• Cultivate strong relationships with SCT’s social enterprises and shops to establish clear pathways for volunteering and trainee opportunities for those who access our services. 

• Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualised Progression Plans, and evaluate progress according to each person’s needs, strengths and aspirations, involving key internal and external partners as appropriate. 

1. Providing information, advice, and guidance regarding ETE opportunities:

About the role 

You’ll bring expert knowledge of Parkinson’s pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics development to all our VB activities. These include primarily the sourcing and evaluation of new project proposals, and then the funding and management of the most promising ones. You will liaise extensively with the Parkinson’s community and external partners, and maintain up to date knowledge in the field. 

With your years of preclinical disease-area expertise you will work alongside your colleagues with backgrounds in medicinal chemistry and biological aspects of drug discovery, clinical research and biotech finance.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert knowledge of Parkinson’s pathophysiology, in vitro and in vivo models of aspects of Parkinson’s and neurodegeneration, to all our activities.

• Solicit external proposals for new projects and develop internal project proposals, and bring new initiatives and working practices to the Virtual Biotech, as appropriate

• Critically review the target validation and preclinical pharmacology aspects of internal and external project proposals

• Participate in joint steering committees and other advisory meetings, providing expert scientific and strategic insight

• Interact with people with Parkinson’s and involve them in projects in order to increase the opportunities to deliver new drugs that meet unmet medical needs

What you’ll bring:

• Widely respected expertise in the study of Parkinson’s pathophysiology and preclinical pharmacology with at least 8 years post-doctorate experience in the field, and a track record of proposing new projects and securing the required funding

• Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (Ph.D., M.D., D.Phil.)

• Familiarity with small molecule drug discovery principles and practices including use of Parkinson’s disease models

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in suitable formats, including project proposals/reports, for both scientific and lay audiences

About the role 

You’ll apply expert knowledge of drug discovery principles and practices to guide the deployment of over £25m in funding through the Parkinson’s Virtual Biotech programme. As part of the Virtual Biotech team you will evaluate new project proposals, manage our interactions with funded projects, and liaise with external partners and the Parkinson’s community, whilst maintaining professional knowledge and networks. 

You’ll lead on our funding and oversight of some of our projects and support others; including developing robust project plans with the sponsor, featuring efficient use of external resource providers (e.g. for medicinal chemistry, compound synthesis, computational chemistry, crystallography, ADME/physchem profiling, IP handling).

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert management and leadership for the charity’s ongoing preclinical projects to ensure studies are delivered on time and on budget, and participate in joint steering committees and other advisory meetings, providing expert scientific and strategic insight

• Bring new initiatives and working practices to the Virtual Biotech, as appropriate, contribute to the design and evaluation of novel compounds, and identify and evaluate candidate service providers for project work packages

• Solicit external proposals for new projects and develop internal project proposals, and critically review the relevant aspects of internal and external new drug discovery project proposals

• Represent Parkinson’s UK in collaborations, with consortia and at scientific meetings, and interact with people with Parkinson’s and involve them in projects in order to increase the opportunities to deliver new drugs that meet unmet medical needs

What you’ll bring:

• Extensive drug discovery experience with at least 5 years spent in pharma or biotech environments, and a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (Ph.D., M.D., D.Phil.)

• Expert knowledge of small molecule drug discovery principles and practices including experience of compound design and evaluation, and experience of neuroscience drug discovery

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in suitable formats for both scientific and lay audiences, and ability to compile project proposals/reports suitable for scientific and non-scientific audiences

• Track record of proposing new projects, with significant experience of project management and leadership skills from initiation to completion/review including selecting and working with CROs

The role

You will:

• Provide expert support, guidance, and information on cerebral palsy particularly within the context of Scope’s Strategy, to disabled people, families, professionals, Scope colleagues and members of the public.

• Be Scope’s representative within the region on cerebral palsy, joining existing CP forums and groups, helping the CP community to come together, and sharing Scope’s work within communities.

About you

You will:

• Have an in-depth knowledge of cerebral palsy, its causes, health implications, therapies, and available support due to a personal lived experience.
• Have experience and up to date knowledge of current issues that affect disabled people and those around them, specifically people with cerebral palsy.
• Have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment.
• Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of different needs and being able to respond to these accordingly.
• Have a strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
• Be an excellent communicator who demonstrates effective person-centred listening, empathy, and probing skills to respond to underlying issues and assist customers to make informed choices.
• Be highly organised with the capacity to prioritise workloads effectively by using your own initiative. Ability to engage groups of people and individuals on the subject of cerebral palsy and disability.
• Have direct experience of the barriers that society creates for disabled people. Bringing drive and enthusiasm to the role, demonstrating that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people.

As Team Leader you will ensure good clinical practice and see that the service operates within policy and statutory requirements. Bringing leadership to the team and providing induction, supervision, coaching and work and development reviews will be important too. Ideally, you have a professional qualification in health/social care, youth and community work, (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Candidates with proven experience of working in the substance misuse field and a commitment to complete NVQ4 Health and Social Care or equivalent will also be considered. Knowledge of alcohol and health related issues, including the functional model of alcohol use is essential, as is experience of staff supervision/management/training. Familiar with primary, secondary and other outreach settings, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals too. What’s more, you have a good understanding of safeguarding issues, and are great at engaging effectively with clients. Good IT skills (we use Microsoft Office) are also required, together with a flexible, can‐do and results driven approach.

We are working in partnership with the Pontesbury Project, who are looking to appoint an experienced Registered Care Manager (NVQ level 5 qualified) to help lead the service, and ensure the continued growth and development of their care provision and maintaining outstanding quality care.

Pontesbury Project is a local charity providing care and homes to adults with learning difficulties in a caring, fulfilling, meaningful and nurturing environment. The Project now cares for around 16 residents, has 13 properties, and employs around 50 staff who provide high quality, specialist, person centred support to individuals some of whom have severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, many of whom require 1-to-1 support. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for care to help lead the service. The new Registered Care Manager will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, playing a significant and valued role working alongside the Nominated Individual and Trustees to ensure the service develops, continues to perform at the highest-level and adheres to all legislative requirements. In addition, the successful candidate must meet CQC Registered Manager requirements.

You will have:

• Experience of a working as a care manager or looking to take the next step in your career
• Excellent communication skills, (oral and written) enable to work closely with families, service users, team leaders, and staff
