As Project Manager your role will be to support the delivery of a number of key organisation activities and objectives. Around 50% of time will be focused on proposition development with the remaining time on delegated tasks to support the Acting Director across other areas of their responsibility and the organisations suite of support services.

Report Writer - notes of meetings, discussions, summarising actions and tracking them.

Other varied tasks - related to our support and information service provision e.g. delegation of tasks related to two restricted funded projects, cross team activity like away days and meetings, general administration (like meeting set up/ organising/ research).

Pete’s Dragons is an award-winning charity which provides post-vention support to those affected by suicide.

As the Charity continues to grow we need to increase the number of Suicide Bereavement Specialists who provide the Charity's post-vention offering at our Plymouth office.

Job Summary

The role of the Suicide Bereavement Specialist is to provide a proactive and timely community-based support to individuals, families, groups and/or communities who have experienced a suicide loss.

The hours for this role are flexible, with 22.5 hours/week being the minimum.

*Please note: Ability to travel is an essential part of this role.

Main duties

Support

Offer a sensitive, compassionate and needs-led service to individuals, families, groups or communities affected or bereaved by suicide.

Offer rapid response (within 48 hours), information and support to individuals, families, groups or communities who have been bereaved by suicide, in their home or other agreed settings, and follow with ongoing practical and emotional support; mainly through non-clinical interventions that promote coping and resilience so our beneficiaries can face and overcome their traumatic bereavement.

Exercise good judgement in assessing each case and establishing the most appropriate steps for ongoing support, signposting or onward referral.

Co-ordinate where necessary, a safeguarding response in line with local practices and services to ensure that an individual is safe and has an organised package of care to ensure they survive their crisis in the most helpful manner for them.

Produce an area-specific suicide bereavement resources pack to include all relevant information on support services and processes following a suicide death.

Develop strong relationships with key agencies and first responders in the area to establish ways to connect bereaved individuals in a timely and helpful manner (e.g. police, emergency services, clergy, child services, coroners, funeral directors).

Contribute to critical incident responses where appropriate and take an active role where possible.

Assist with the early identification of potential suicide connected deaths and liaise with the Pete’s Dragons suicide surveillance team and appropriate stakeholders and relevant agencies, to ensure timely and appropriate coordinated responses.

Undertake collaborative multidisciplinary work to uphold safety and support for the communities of need (e.g. working with school staff, mental health staff, peers, or family members) to ensure they are contained by well-informed communities.

Administration

Work internally with the Senior Management Team, suicide bereavement colleagues, placement counsellors and therapists and in conjunction with external agencies to ensure parity of service across the whole of the County of Devon.

Maintain timely administrative updates on the Pete’s Dragons’ case management system.

Maintain an effective and efficient diary of appointments.

Participate in the implementation and promotion of the Devon Suicide Prevention Implementation Plan and understand how the role of both the Suicide Bereavement Specialist and Pete’s Dragons fits within it.

Contribute to training/awareness raising in suicide bereavement.

Gather and report on all qualitative and quantitative data required in relation to monthly activities and casework.

Adhere to all Pete’s Dragons’ policies and procedures and ensure security and confidentiality of all related data.

 We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.

This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. Overview

The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.

• Support the organisational strategic objectives for all Health and Wellbeing services, but with a particular focus on mental health & wellbeing.
• Support the Mental Health & Wellbeing Training Co-ordinator to design, quality assure, and deliver a range of mental health and wellbeing education programmes including staff training, young people or parent workshops, and community events.
• Support the Health & Wellbeing Manager in managing and overseeing the delivery and quality assurance of wider health and wellbeing training such as First Aid and qualifications from YMCA Awards.
• Develop new partnerships and opportunities to educate communities about the health and wellbeing agenda: attending networking events, developing marketing activity, delivering presentations and sourcing funding opportunities.
• Provide effective line management and recruitment of sessional health and wellbeing trainers, ensuring high standards of delivery.
• Support the development and growth of health and wellbeing services whilst meeting annual targets.
• Develop mental health & wellbeing programmes internally and externally for target audiences such as supported housing residents, youth work, family work and workplace wellbeing initiatives.
• Support with the management and monitoring of operational tasks across the health and wellbeing department such as writing reports, data analysis and strategy development.

You will have and be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

• Possess a Level 4  mental health qualification.
• Possess a valid Award In Education; PTTLS qualification; or Qualified Teacher Status.
• Sound knowledge and experience of the children and adults mental health & wellbeing agenda, including local and national initiatives and approaches.
• Sound knowledge and experience of quality assurance tools and processes.
• Proven experience of developing and delivering high quality mental health & wellbeing training and education programmes to adults and young people.
• Proven experience in project management and partnership development.
• Ability to effectively manage time and work well in teams or on your own initiative.
• Excellent organisational, negotiation and time management skills.
• Excellent IT and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership skills and experience.
• A flexible approach to work.
• A current driving licence and access to a car for work.

The Role

As our PR Manager, you will take a central role in raising the profile and awareness of Yorkshire Cancer Research and the work of the charity.

Reporting to the Head of Communications & Engagement, our PR Manager will develop engaging, relevant and powerful content for new and existing audiences across Yorkshire, and beyond.

Specifically, you will:

· Plan and deliver innovative and engaging media events and activities in support of the charity’s public relationship strategy.

· Proactively identify opportunities to publicise the charity’s work and impact through a variety of media channels.

· Build ongoing relationships with people who have benefited from the charity’s work (case studies) and whom are willing to help promote the charity and its impact.

· Develop and manage relationships with journalists, influencers and potential stakeholders.

· Plan and oversee content production for PR purposes, such as video, social media, and imagery.

· Plan and lead media events, ensuring both the media and charity spokespeople and representatives are thoroughly briefed and prepared.

· Coach and support the Communications Officer, setting goals and objectives as part of regular Personal Development Plan meetings.

· Monitor the PR budget to maximise impact and benefit.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· A degree or equivalent professional experience in Public Relations, Journalism, English or Communications.

· Significant experience in a media/PR environment, preferably with experience of managing others within this environment. Experience of planning or leading PR or media campaigns.

· Excellent computer literacy, with extensive knowledge of MS Office applications.

· An understanding of the media and social media landscape, and their relationship with charity PR.

· An understanding or appreciation of the charity sector, the priorities and the challenges.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· High levels of discretion, confidentiality and recognition of how and when to share information appropriately.

· Confident communicator and presenter, able to offer constructive challenge and influence.

· The ability to drive and travel across the Yorkshire region (we have pool cars based at our Head Office in Harrogate for your use if preferred).

We are a Scottish registered charity making a difference to women and families across the UK.  Our vision is that women and families feel supported in their feeding choices and are able to breastfeed for as long as they choose. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled writer and/or journalist to tell the stories of SAT-7 and the people of the MENA in fresh and powerful ways. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, creative environment as part of the Communications & Resources Team, delivering high quality content across a range of platforms. You’d be writing engaging podcast and video scripts, informative press releases, powerful viewer testimonies, inspiring articles for our website or print magazine, political briefings, and attention-grabbing email copy. You’ll be one of the main points of contact with our international office and Middle Eastern TV studios, gathering and repurposing impactful stories and resourcing the wider UK team.

You’d also be responsible for making SAT-7 more widely known amongst UK Christians and churches, leaders and influencers, getting SAT-7’s stories and campaigns strategically placed across print, broadcast and digital press and media. Working closely with our external PR agency, you’ll help facilitate regular media opportunities with SAT-7 UK and international spokespeople, making sure they are well prepared for interviews with the press.

The Communications & Press Officer reports to the Communications & Resources Manager.

This role is a permanent role. The role is based in Chippenham but flexible working options are available.

• Demonstrate the life-changing impact of SAT-7 and the value of supporters’ financial giving
• Show how God is at work in the MENA, and mobilise increased prayer for the issues affecting different people groups and MENA Christians
• Inform supporters and the wider public about the context, news, challenges and opportunities for the MENA region and Church
