Born in the aftermath of World War II, our frontline services support over 14,000 refugees each year to find safety, get to know their neighbours, and enter education, training or work. About the role

The Doncaster Therapeutic Service is based within therapeutic services in the Resettlement Team in South Yorkshire. The Resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies, the Refugee Council Resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group.

The Psychological Therapist role is designed to provide one-to-one psychological therapy to resettled refugees presenting with mental distress. We have adopted a psychosocial perspective and use a specially tailored care model to address the needs of our clients. The team have supported resettled adult refugees in South Yorkshire by providing short-term one-to-one therapeutic support since September 2017.

Contract and hours: Fixed term, part-time, 7 hours per week.

Mental Health Recovery Worker

Salary: £24,811.13 per annum, pro rata (£8,214.50 per annum, actual for 12.25 hours per week)

Working Days: Fixed Wednesdays and Saturdays. 5:00pm – 11:00pm

About the Role

The Mental Health Recovery Worker supports individuals within the community, to improve mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured interventions. At times this may mean deescalating crisis.

The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

About the Recovery Lounge Service

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues, experience of working in a small service within a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets and have the ability to Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have good communication, motivational and negotiation skills and understand the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Life After Stroke Service based across Cornwall.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11376 Stroke Association Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Mid Cornwall and West Cornwall. However, Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week x 2 posts available (one is a maternity cover contract)

Salary: Circa £19,400 per annum (FTE circa £28,300 per annum)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027. Our services are contracted; we currently have funding for these contracts until 31st March 2027

The Role

The service aims to identify and provide key worker support to meet the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway. Providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
• Provide personalised information, advice and support.
• Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.
• Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

You will have experience in:

• Working with people within a caring profession or other caring capacity.
• Maintaining accurate records using IT skills and database systems.
• Effective caseload management and using a flexible working approach.
• Using excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diverse range of people.

This role requires extensive travel across Cornwall to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

To fulfil the role, you must be a resident of the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
