Job description

CITY OF LONDON

Tower Bridge Head of Programme

Job reference: OBHE0073

Contract type: 3 Year fixed-term contract

Salary: £55,300 – £62,390 inclusive of London Weighting

Contractual hours: 35

Basis: Full time

Location: Tower Bridge, London

Tower Bridge, London’s Defining Landmark, is a working bascule bridge, leading events venue and a popular tourist attraction and heritage site, with a formal education provision. The Bridge receives approx. 950,000 visitors a year and the venues facilitate around 200 corporate and private events.

The City Bridge Foundation (formerly Bridge House Estates) is a 900-year-old historic charity of which the City of London Corporation is Trustee. CBF has remained vital to London over the years and today its primary purpose is to maintain and support five of London’s most iconic Thames Bridges. During the past 25 years, our vision has expanded to tackle social and economic divides across the capital. Today we still maintain our bridges, but via our funding team, the ‘City Bridge Trust’, we distribute approximately £25m each year to support other charitable causes. Collaborating with civil society, foundations, policy makers and businesses, we harness the combined experience of local communities and partners to build a fairer, more inclusive London.

For the post of Head of Programme, we are seeking an experienced professional to oversee, coordinate and deliver an exciting practical programme which lays the foundation for the visitor attraction towards the following vision: To be an exemplar visitor attraction driven by social values, that excites, inspires, connects and educates everyone we reach and encounter. The role will collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure the delivery of activities at the outset of the Bridge’s journey of fundamental development effectively underpin strategic ambitions for the longer term.

Reporting regularly to a range of stakeholders, the Tower Bridge Head of Programme will assist in shaping the future of the visitor attraction by developing and executing an exciting and impactful programme of practical projects/activities, including the review and development of its resources, the spaces within and available to the attraction, and activating the public realm.

It would be advantageous if applicants with main degrees also have a project/programme management qualification or significant experience working at a similar level in a similar field.

Closing date: 12 noon on Tuesday 16 April 2024

The City of London Corporation is committed to Equal Opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
