We are seeking a Support Specialist who will be integral to our mission to help people with a brain tumour to be less isolated, better supported and more confident on their brain tumour journey.
There is flexibility here to suit your needs, preferences and experience. You could work from home, or at our office in Leeds. There is however a preference for geographical location in London, South Wales, Bristol or Liverpool areas.
What’s involved
Working closely with brainstrust’s Director of Services, you will be trained to deliver the Charity’s revered, impartial and impactful coaching and information service for people living with a non-malignant brain tumour, and their families.
You will instil empowerment and control in those living with a non-malignant brain tumour, dramatically improving their wellbeing. You will play a key role in helping us towards our vision to be readily available to as many of the 80,000 people in the UK who are living with a brain tumour, and their caregivers.
You will:
- Continue to grow the impactful community for people with a non-malignant brain tumour through face to face, online, phone and email support, social media engagement and running workshops and events for brain tumour patients and their caregivers.
- Be willing to coach and be coached. Rigorous support and recognised training will be provided.
- Support with ensuring that every non-malignant brain tumour patient and their caregivers work with us to secure the best possible outcome.
- Refer potential fundraising opportunities to relevant members of the brainstrust team to ensure the sustainability of the project.

Here for You is a personalised referral pathway for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients - primary and secondary. It provides timely access to all of Breast Cancer Now’s trusted information and specialist support via a single healthcare professional referral.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we’re looking to expand UK wide. We’re committed to making access to Breast Cancer Now services more streamlined and are looking for someone who is proactive and comfortable with multi-tasking.
This role is vital as you’ll be responsible for relationship building with the NHS, geographical expansion and collaboration with colleagues. You’ll be acting as a first point of contact for healthcare professionals and will be speaking with people affected by breast cancer on the phone about our services.
About you
You’ll be passionate about supporting people affected by breast cancer.
You’ll have excellent communication skills, especially by phone and Microsoft Teams. You’ll also be a good listener who enjoys working in a patient led environment.
You’ll be highly organised, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. You’ll have experience in working with healthcare professionals as well as building positive relationships with people from different backgrounds, including people affected by breast cancer and across UK wide teams.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role can be based in 1 of our 4 offices located in Cardiff, Glasgow, London or Sheffield. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

Title: Programme & Events Coordinator
Reports to: Senior Programme Administrator
Based: Remotely – however must be willing and able to travel as and when required to meetings and events.
Job Purpose: To organise the planning and implementation of Programmes & Events and maintain a high level of accuracy and detail throughout.
The role:
Arrhythmia Alliance Group is recruiting a Programme & Events Co-ordinator on a full-time, permanent, remote basis. Your skills will be essential in strengthening the charities profile through programmes and event planning and coordination.
You will support the organisation with its’ programme and events portfolio by developing healthy, professional, relationships at all levels. You will also showcase initiatives taken and their key impact in making a real difference in people's lives.
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, attend and execute a range of charity programmes and events.
- Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, contract negotiations, transportation, accommodation, and catering arrangements.
- Agenda and room allocations
- Liaise effectively with various vendors and service providers.
- Develop and manage budgets, providing financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Evaluate programme and event success through feedback collection and analysis, making necessary recommendations for improvements.
- Promote the organisation's brand image, values, and initiatives.
Ensure all events are compliant with relevant standards and other regulations.
- Diary management for all programmes and events
- Support in production of relevant presentations and be able to present on the Charity group whilst attending events online or in person.
- Take payments over the phone as and when required.
- Attend physical meetings and events as and when needed to provide support.
- Support the production of recording for Healthcare Professionals, patients and care givers for educational webinars & events using but not limited to Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
Essential requirements:
- Experience working with vendors and negotiating venue contracts.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial planning for events.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle last-minute changes.
- Ability to engage with wide range of stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, sponsors and exhibitors.
- Creative thinker and problem-solver.
Person specification:
- Educated to GCSE level (minimum).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Can undertake a wide variety of tasks and multi-task with ease.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
