Job Description
The Permanent Part Time (0.6) Head of Finance is a core member of the organisation's structure and is a strategic partner to the Director of Operations on all areas of finance. Responsibilities will include:
Run the accounting functions
- Manage payment runs and other banking.
- Manage payroll, pension and staff benefits as required.
- Administer investments and banking.
- Cashflow Management.
- Finance app management inc. Xero, ApprovalMax
Management accounts and planning
- Produce management accounts.
- Analyse trends and variances, and other analysis as required.
- Model company finances including budgets and 3-year business plan.
Compliance
- Manage VAT, corporation tax, and tax planning.
- Generate and review accounting and compliance policies.
- Work with auditors throughout the year as required.
- Implement and manage spending and authorisation controls.
The Successful Applicant
- Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc)
- 5+ years PQE
- Can demonstrate working independently and as finance lead with board responsibilities. (Experience in a SME preferable)
- May suit fractional or part-time (3 days/week). Flexible working possible.

The role
The Finance and Operations Manager will oversee the charity's back-office functions, ensuring that the charity meets the highest standards of governance and management and that the charity's philanthropy services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
* Providing the accounting and financial management function for the charity.
* Overseeing the management of the charity's portfolio of investments, including expanding the range of investment options for our DAFs.
* Managing the human resource and IT functions (although not essential that you have done this before, it could be a great learning opportunity).

They are looking for a temp Finance Officer to help deliver an effective rent collection and recovery service in accordance with legislation, the organisation’s policies, set performance targets and customer satisfaction requirements on a full-time basis (37.5 hours) for 6 months in the East London office.
You will ensure that the organisation is compliant with all regulations and using robust policy and procedures. You will be responsible for managing resident rent and accommodation charge accounts and other former resident debts on a regular basis, identifying trends and patterns on individual accounts, and chasing arrears. You will work collaboratively with the Resident Services Manager, Revenue and Income Team Leader and Finance team to ensure all rent accounts are up to date and correct, checking Housing Benefit entitlements against PC rates and requesting adjustments accordingly. You will be liaising with both internal and external partners including the Resident Services, Keyworkers, Housing Benefit, the Department for Work and Pensions and residents. You will provide advice and support service to clients with regards to Housing Benefit Appeals. You will also support the transfer of all accounts from Inform to Pyramid.
Knowledge of welfare benefits, i.e. Housing Benefit and Universal Credit is desirable.

The role
AWP is looking to recruit a new role to their Finance team -Income and Financial Reporting Accountant.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting, Treasury and Finance Systems, you will manage a small team and will ensure that all matters relating to income and capital accounting are carried out in a timely and accurate manner communicating with NHSE and DOH to ensure all information meets appropriate standards.

- Be a qualified accountant with senior finance experience in a medium to large organisation; be use to providing financial information in short time scales and making sound assumptions and judgements to ensure this happens in a robust way.
- Experience of NHS Finances and knowledge of NHS Income desirable
- Have experience of leading a small team and be familiar with highly technical financial information, income and capital accounting, budget setting and report writing.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable experience in working with operational teams and other corporate functions to deliver a mature rounded service.

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and versatile finance professional to play a leading strategic role in the continuing development of our North London schools.
The Regional Finance Director will provide the overall leadership and management for all aspects of finance to Ark Schools in the North London region. The role will be focussed on ensuring processes are embedded across all schools; supporting schools new to the network (or with new staff structures) with transition as well as leading, with regard to finance, on strategic projects within the schools.

Key Responsibilities:

- To assist with finance requirements for transitioning new schools to the network, including systems set-up, staff training and implementation of policies & procedures

- To work with the HR Business Partner to oversee all matters relating to payroll, including Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs queries, National Insurance, benefits in lieu of pay (travel loans etc.), Give as You Earn scheme, and to ensure that appropriate controls are in place and robust checks are made in relation to the monthly payroll however noting that the administration or payroll and pensions is outsourced and led by HR.
Key Requirements:
· Professional accountancy qualification, including significant post-qualifying experience
· A record of Continuing Professional Development activities
· Experience and/or knowledge of schools or education finance & administration would be desirable, but not essential
· Knowledge and experience of financial management systems and processes
· Experience of strategic financial planning and supporting decision-making

Person Specification
- Accountant with at least 3 years of experience in programmes financial accounting & reporting; developing and managing administrative systems; and budgeting, forecasting and cashflow monitoring.
- Experience of institutional grant budget proposal development, compliance, monitoring and reporting; this includes experience in managing DfID, EU, ECHO, German government, Swedish government, and USAID funding.
- Excellent numeracy & financial analysis skills
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of MSOffice, especially MSExcel
- Excellent command of the English language, both in a written and oral capacity.

Main responsibilities of the role:
- To support the CEO in managing the rigors from day-to-day budget setting / monitoring and cashflows to fund reporting and Board briefings.
- Carry out a review of the present situation, incorporating systems, processes, deficiencies and risk areas.
- Manage, nurture and develop a finance team, implementing sound financial controls and a can-do culture to empower decision making.
- Work with the operations director to prepare the organisation for the regulatory scrutiny that will come as the organisation passes the 1000-unit mark.
- Deliver board-level strategic insight, shaping the future of the organisation and driving growth.
- Flex up and down between a ‘doing’ role and a board-level role involved in decision making about the strategic direction of the organisation.

It is with this ambitious programme in mind that we are looking for a Finance Director who can build and improve on our high-performing finance function and continue to instil rigour and excellent financial stewardship across our operations and transformational projects.
Creating a resilient and sustainable organisation is fundamental to our long term strategy and the Director of Finance is a pivotal role helping to provide strategic leadership and responsibility for ensuring the continued financial sustainability of the Museum. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a key senior appointment that will bring strategic and commercial leadership, delivering sustainable financial outcomes bringing our NHM vision, values and outcomes to life.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, and will need to demonstrate:
· Proven experience in a leadership role;
· Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues;
· Understanding and experience of strategic risk management, finance audit and internal controls

MLC Partners are supporting a well-known Charity to recruit a 12-month fixed-term Finance Systems and Project Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly alongside the Head of Financial Accounting and Processes and be involved in critical finance projects across the organisation.
Key deliverables of the role:
- Lead on and deliver the Finance system upgrade (Agresso/Unit 4 Business World from on-premise solution into the Cloud)
- Develop and enhance a robust cashflow forecast, and maximise the outputs to take a pro-active approach with Treasury management for short-term cash deposits
- Further develop and embed the internal financial control framework into the Finance team
- Support the Head of Financial Accounting & Processing with other Finance related projects as and when required
Successful candidates will:
- Have experience in leading a system upgrade (desirably within Agresso/Unit 4 Business World)
- Significant experience in Financial Accounting, processes, and controls
- Proven experience in leading and delivering on projects and process improvement; including cashflow forecast
- CIMA, ACCA qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience (essential if not Q, P/Q)

Harris Hill is recruiting for a Part Time Finance Director for this faith-based charity located in Buckinghamshire and Surrey. (Mostly Remote)
- Hours: 12 hours per week, on average over the full year
- Flexible Working: Only 1 day a month is required at their offices in either Buckinghamshire or Surrey

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts and Finance
- Maintenance of the accounting records,
- Preparation and monitoring forecasts and budgets for the Charity
- Having an overall appreciation of the requirements of Charity Statement of Recommended Practice for Charity Accounts (SORP)
- Preparing the records for audit and liaising with the auditors and Bursar
- Monitoring and oversight of Sage
- Ensuring sound financial controls exist. There should be monthly backups, which are forwarded to the Leader.
- Ensuring that the income to which the Congregation is entitled is received.
- Assistance with the financial aspects of longer-term strategic planning
Investments
- Awareness of the implications of the Congregation’s Investment Policy
- Assisting the Trustees with the monitoring of the Congregation’s Investment Portfolio, and liaising with the Charity’s Investment advisors and fund managers
- With the Trustees, attend Meetings, with the Investment Managers, and compiling Minutes.
Grants
- Have an overview of Grant Making procedures, and monitor the work of the Grants Administrator
Legal
- Having an appreciation of the charity’s trust deed and of how charities are governed in the UK.
- Having a general awareness of the laws and regulations affecting the Congregation and its work
Banking
- Assisting the Bursar, when required, with the Congregation’s banking arrangements.
- Ensuring that surplus funds are invested in interest bearing accounts and optimising the amount of such interest.
Insurance
- Assisting with arranging Insurance Cover, and liaising with the Insurance Advisers
Employment
- Awareness of employment legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance and Pensions
