A well-established UK charity is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team on a 6-month FTC.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will take ownership of the organisation's year-end financial reporting process, leading the preparation of statutory accounts and managing the annual audit cycle. This role is available on a fixed term contract (12 months) and full-time basis. The salary on offer for this role is circa £45,000 per annum. There is a mainly remote role with expectation that the postholder will attend the Kent office on occasion.
The Finance Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the charity’s finance function, maintaining strong financial controls, delivering clear and reliable reporting, and providing proactive support to internal teams. The role will be instrumental in managing costs, tracking income, overseeing the financial elements of contracts, and equipping managers with the insight they need to manage their budgets effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in a similar position, ideally within the not-for-profit sector. You will have experience preparing management accounts. You will have experience in budget management. You will have experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel. You will have a strong understanding of restricted funding and contract‑based income. You will have experience in line management, mentoring colleagues, and working within a team.
Desirably, you will have knowledge of Charity SORP. You will have familiarity with local authority and/or public‑sector contracts. You will have experience overseeing or supporting payroll processes.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in ensuring learning and evidence informs decisions and contributes to the foundation’s strategy. Sitting at the heart of the organisation, this person will support the foundation’s learning and evaluation work, overseeing learning and feedback processes, commissioning research, and sharing what the foundation’s learning with different audiences.
This person will lead on conducting both qualitative and quantitative analysis, translating complex information into clear, practical insights that influence real decision-making. The ability to draw out key themes, identify patterns and make thoughtful recommendations will directly support how the foundation delivers its strategy.
This is a highly collaborative role which will work across teams, supporting colleagues in funding, communications and resources, and contributing to shared initiatives with other funders. The person
The successful candidate will be naturally curious, analytical and will share in the overall vision of the foundation. They will enjoy exploring data, asking questions and presenting insights that can make a genuine difference. They will bring substantial experience of research and analysis in addition to having the ability to work confidently across both qualitative and quantitative methods. This experience will ideally have been gained in the grant making, philanthropic, charity or not-for-profit sectors.
This person will be a strong communicator both verbally and in writing and will be able to translate complex findings into clear, compelling narratives that others can easily digest and act on. Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, this person will be a great listener and facilitator, able to curate open and reflective conversations.
Highly organised and self-motivated, this person will be able to manage competing priorities and see projects through to completion methodically in addition to being confident using data tools and systems to produce high-quality, accurate work to tight deadlines. IT savvy across all MS packages will be essential in addition to experience of Salesforce and data visualisation/analysis software being very useful indeed.

The Head of Philanthropy will also work closely with the Director of Development to ensure gold-standard stewardship for our high-value donors, coaching and developing line reports to ensure income generation targets are met across trusts, foundations, and individual donor income streams.
To be successful as the Head of Philanthropy will be an experienced leader and fundraiser, confident in securing new business through active prospecting and networking and ingrained knowledge of how to secure and steward HNWIs and trusts & foundations. This will ideally have been done at the six-figures-plus level and you will have significant experience in working with senior leaders and volunteers to cultivate meaningful relationships, steward HNWI, trusts, and foundations, and deliver robust prospect pipelines.
This role is a maternity cover contract position that will have hybrid working in the London offices for at least two days per week, for up to 14 months. The salary for this role is £60,000 to £72,000.
