About the role:

The position is based at our Lewes Crown Court office, working 15 hours per week Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm. Hybrid working meaning 1 day office based and 1 day home based.

As a Young Witness Service Caseworker you will be:

• Supporting child and young person witnesses and victims of crime by providing information along with practical & emotional help
• Supporting child and young person witnesses to navigate the court system, providing advocacy and support directly to witnesses and anyone else affected by the crime
• Completing needs and risk assessments with victims
• Case management and updating databases in line with GDPR & safeguarding regulations
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships and collaborative working with local partnerships, other agencies and participating in community events.

• To be able to work without direct supervision, prioritising work to meet competing demands
• Good communication skills, able to show empathy & deal with difficult situations
• To demonstrate good IT skills, able to use Microsoft Office & internal systems

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a School Partnership Officer to help us grow and extend the reach of our Learning with Parents programme. 

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across project management at a fast-paced education-tech charity. We are a small team, and the School Partnership Coordinator will play a key role in enabling us to deliver our programme strategy.

Core areas of responsibility

Programme support

• Assist the School Partnership Managers with support for the schools using our Reading Log, including having calls with those schools

This is an exciting new role to develop a peer support group for people recently diagnosed with dementia and their family carers and to co produce a programme of activities so that they can continue to engage in stimulating activities in the community.

Aims of the Position

To provide specialist and culturally competent support in mother tongue and to address the immediate and long-term needs of Kurdish, Middle Eastern and North African (KMENA) women who might be at risk or survivors of Domestic Abuse, Forced Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation and the so-called Honour-Based Abuse (Harmful Practices). To meet women’s needs through provisions of information, advice, and advocacy case work, as well as signposting and referrals to appropriate services.

Main Duties

➢ To receive initial referrals, identify and assess the needs of service usersin accordance with KMEWO’s Policies & Procedures for efficient and timely responses to their issues.

➢ To offer information, advice, and intersectional advocacy to KMENA women and girls who are affected by domestic Abuse and Harmful Practices.

➢ To carry out comprehensive risk assessments and draw safety plans for service users supporting them to access safe accommodation/refuge and referring them to specialist agencies if needed.

➢ To maintain accurate and up to date records, files, and case notes in accordance with KMEWO’s policies and procedures. 

➢ To gather statistics and data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, providing reports as required. ➢ To ensure that service users can access interpreting services when required.

➢ To work closely with partner agencies to manage risk appropriately, deliver coordinated and comprehensive support packages and to make appropriate referrals to other services as required.

You’ll successfully close the Trust’s Nextdoor Nature Project in Telford, providing all required achievement, impact and financial reports as well as fully contributing to national evaluation. The Permanent Part Time (0.6) Head of Finance is a core member of the organisation's structure and is a strategic partner to the Director of Operations on all areas of finance. Responsibilities will include:

 

Run the accounting functions

• Manage payment runs and other banking.
• Manage payroll, pension and staff benefits as required.
• Administer investments and banking.
• Cashflow Management.
• Finance app management inc. Xero, ApprovalMax

Management accounts and planning

• Produce management accounts.
• Analyse trends and variances, and other analysis as required.
• Model company finances including budgets and 3-year business plan.

Compliance

• Manage VAT, corporation tax, and tax planning.
• Generate and review accounting and compliance policies.
• Work with auditors throughout the year as required.
• Implement and manage spending and authorisation controls.

The Successful Applicant

• Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc)
• 5+ years PQE
• Can demonstrate working independently and as finance lead with board responsibilities. (Experience in a SME preferable)
