Finance Analyst - Country Programmes | Interim | 6 Months + | £250 per day (Umbrella Co) London - Hybrid

For a large international NGO, we're recruiting an Interim Finance Analyst for their Strategic Operations and Country Programmes team. This role will support Nigeria and India country programme teams, and a complex grants portfolio. This role will analyse financial performance ensuring integrity and accuracy of data reported and help support commercial decisions. This role is for at least 6 months and is hybrid working.

Main Duties:

• Compliance - review monthly country programme P&L, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Develop automated reconciliation and reporting
• Effective roll out of global standards and compliance reporting, ensuring all global audit requirements are actioned
• Collaborate with Donor teams, and Regional Programme Officer to ensure Donors' compliance requirements are understood
• Analyse financial and service data, variance analysis and trend analysis
• Support budget versus actual variance analysis and support the creation of financial models
• Financial forecasting, reporting and KPI tracking
• Reporting, budgeting, and grant accounting. Work closely with country programme Grant Managers to ensure Donor reports are robust, and that spend rates are monitored
• Review all new project budget proposals, working with country programmes to ensure projects are set-up, reported on, and closed down effectively

Person Specification:

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant
• Experience within the international charity sector
• Experience of Donor regulations, Donor policies and procedures, and supporting donor-funded grant management
• Strong Excel skills and ideally experience with SunSystems, Q&A and BI tools
• International and multi-cultural organisation experience

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Young Persons Housing Advisors to join our team based in Hatfield! You will be responsible for providing advice, guidance and support to vulnerable people aged 18-24 years.

You will support vulnerable young people to find or maintain suitable accommodation. This involves setting up and or / sustaining their tenancies thus helping to prevent repeat homelessness. You will provide housing advice and support, including information on the relevant benefits and will assist them to identify other support needs, such as mental health issues.

What will you be doing? 

• Manage a caseload of young people aged 18-24yrs.
• Ensure that all young people work towards an agreed support plan which is regularly reviewed and adapted to ensure that they meet their individual needs and goals.
• Build a professional and trusting relationship with the young people to enable to them to engage with the support and improve their situation and prospects.
• Engage effectively in multi-agency working, developing collaborative relationships and partnerships with relevant staff in a range of agencies to broker and co-ordinate support for young people.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of income related subjects such as benefits, money advice & grants.
• Be hyh’s benefits & money advice specialist, sharing knowledge and providing advice to the teams.
• Take the lead in developing and delivering benefits and/or money advice training.
• Work in partnership with the Catalyst Housing Floating Support staff to provide a consistent service countywide.
• Be ambassador for the charity both internally & externally to further hyh aims whilst protecting and enhancing its reputation.

About the role

The postholder will have a unique opportunity to lead delivery of our communications strategy, supporting the delivery of our organisational objectives and ensuring we maximise our 20th anniversary year to raise IHP’s profile and grow our community.

The programme:

Playful Learning Across the Years 2.0: Quality Tool Testing, Learning and Pathways to Program Improvement and Systemic Uptake (PLAY 2.0) is a multi-country level programme leaded by the Education Development Centre and Street Child in partnership with the LEGO Foundation. PLAY 2.0 aims to conduct research measurement of the quality of child-centred pedagogies and their contribution to holistic outcomes for children in 450 classrooms in centres and schools across Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. PLAY 2.0 proposes to administer the PLAY 2.0 tools to educators and children to improve the tools’ use across countries and cultures, with a particular focus on crisis-affected contexts; to verify the contribution of child-centred pedagogies to holistic outcomes for children; and understand the tools’ potential to inform program improvement. PLAY 2.0 offers an outstanding opportunity to focus on the aspects of child-centred approaches that are closest to children, including agency, self-sustaining engagement, self-led exploration, and other essential elements of meaningful learning. The project provides a platform to test and adapt these tools across the three countries - and in turn, contributes to integrate and improve on the implementation of integrated pedagogies, influence their adoption, and support children at critical junctures.

The role:

Street Child is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Research Analyst to lead and effectively deliver on the PLAY 2.0 research project in Sierra Leone. The Research Analyst is responsible for the overall management of data in the research study, including codification, standardisation and strategic coherence of our data collection, collation, managing analytical approaches, documentation, translation, transcription, and ensuring the data requirements of the programme are met and well communicated to the partners. This is an outstanding opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research at a significant scale, and to enable research-informed interventions through strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection and analysis (60%)

• Establish and embed rigorous, robust data collection, collation and cleaning protocols and databases for rapid data processing to assure the availability of data for analysis;
• Facilitate qualitative interviews including designing questionnaires, conduct interviews, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to gather relevant information from target customers, industry experts, and stakeholders.
• Explore and embed innovative approaches, including digital approaches, and inclusive approaches adapted for abilities, age, gender, geographies, etc to expand and enhance data quality;
• Liaising with implementing partners and local teams, managing data enumerators and ensuring that work is delivered to time and quality expectations;
• Ensure external and internal project reports are provided in a timely manner, summarizing data and presenting the implications of the results in written reports
• Assist and assure adherence to appropriate data storage policies and procedures, to protect the confidentially, integrity, and privacy of participants and participant information, including appropriate ethical protocols and safeguarding policies and procedures;

Who are Women’s Aid?   

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Senior Media Relations Officer role:   

As Senior Media Relations Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in all proactive and reactive media, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. This role is intrinsic to the running of Women’s Aid’s fast-paced press office, influencing, responding to and driving the media agenda on domestic abuse and violence against women and girls. • To be the first point of contact for media and publicity enquiries, cultivating excellent media relationships

About the role
Based within the Resident Services team, the Revenue Officer will play a critical role to help deliver an effective and high performing rent collection and recovery service in accordance with legislation, the organisation’s policies, set performance targets and customer satisfaction requirements.

In collaboration with the RSM and RI Team Leader and Finance Team to ensure that Your Place are compliant with all regulations and using robust policy and procedures. Support with the set up of the new Pyramid system and ensuring the right systems are in place to effectively manage the Revenue and Income stream and arrears of the organisation.

Maximising the organisation’s Revenue and Income by liaising with both internal and external partners including the Resident Services, Keyworkers, HB, DWP and directly with residents., and effectively managing the arrears.

This role will also manage the impact of welfare reform provisions, ensuring an effective advice and support service to residents to manage risk on revenue and income levels.

• Investigating and support clients with Housing Benefit Appeals
• To support our project to transfer all accounts from Inform to Pyramid

• Chasing ex resident arrears
• To manage resident rent and accommodation charge accounts and other former resident debts, on a regular basis identifying trends and patterns on individual accounts and then liaise with Support Workers or residents to rectify income issues and address arrears in line with policies and procedures
• To contribute towards the continuous improvement of performance in line with the organisation’s service plan targets
• To work collaboratively and closely with the Finance officer and Revenue and Income Team Leader to ensure all rent accounts tally.
