Groundswell is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that focuses on peace-building, countering social harms and creating more resilient communities. We seek to do this through our trademarked ‘FIND-CONNECT-AMPLIFY’ model in which we identify local and existing community based organisations, connect them with wider community and statutory partners and amplify their efforts. We are active across the UK and are now seeking to expand our network of community connectors.
Salary – 32-34k depending upon experience, plus expenses.

Job Context
Groundswell Project is seeking to recruit community connectors to work on a Big Lottery funded project called ‘Together we are’. This project seeks to implement Groundswell’s ‘Find, Connect, Amplify’ approach in four cities in the UK, namely London, Manchester, Glasgow and Luton. These roles are tasked with mapping community based groups in their respective cities, offering them support, connecting them with local statutory partners and putting on events that allow said groups to expand their outreach in the local area. Ultimately, the aim of the role is to ensure local community groups are better connected, much more visible and, thus, more effective. We are currently recruiting for a Luton based connector.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1) Mapping the local landscape for community based organisations and producing a borough profile
2) Building strong relationships with local statutory and community based partners
3) Arrange meetings that connect local stakeholders in order to foster greater collaborative work
4) Arrange and promote a series of events in the local area that focus on relevant local themes
5) Help develop the Groundswell community mapper
6) Report directly to the ‘Together We Are’ project manager on all aspects of local work

Pause works with women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma. We are now working with more women who have experienced multiple removals than anyone else in the country.
The Pause Practice Lead will manage one of our largest teams – six Pause Practitioners and one Coordinator. The Practice Lead will ensure effective delivery of the Pause programme – they will work alongside their team, bringing a wealth of direct practice experience of complex work to maximise the team’s potential.
The Practice Lead will provide high levels of supervision and leadership to team members from a variety of disciplines, as well ensuring fidelity and integrity to the model. They will typically have significant experience in both operational and project management, with an ability to manage complex data and demonstrate impact. Additionally, they will usually have experience of evidence informed approaches.
Key responsibilities
- Effectively lead and coach the Pause Practice to achieve positive outcomes for women - setting vision, targets and priorities;
- Ensure fidelity and integrity to the model through delivery of the Pause Framework elements, for example, assertive outreach with women and ensuring the most effective form of long-acting reversible contraception is in place;
- Ensure effective pathways are established and maintained with key agencies, e.g. sexual health, housing and mental health;
- Ensure an evidence base is applied to practice through assessment of a woman's needs, case formulation, intervention delivery and review;
- Ensure outcomes are achieved and monitored through the Pause Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework and that real-time data is used to improve practice and reported to relevant funders;
- Report to the Local Pause Board and any other relevant funders;
- Manage expenditure of the Pause Practice and ensure any financial spend on women is aligned with their goals as set out in the care plan;
- Ensure the effective management of all statutory requirements related to the Pause Practice at all times, including safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults, and health and safety of staff;
- Represent Pause to external stakeholders;
- Embed continuous learning ethos within the Pause Practice.

As Projects Officer: Neighbourhood Food Model you will lead on specific projects within the wider Neighbourhood Food Model. Your role will be to grow collaborations, facilitate groups and workshops, and coordinate action. You will be building alliances with local food growers, chefs, researchers, council officers and residents to build a better local food system in Walworth.
The Walworth Neighbourhood Food Model is an ambitious, long-term approach to tackling the root causes of food insecurity in our neighbourhood. It offers a vision for a network of complementary spaces and initiatives, to build social connection through food, develop local supply chains, and transform the local food economy. This is a key role with a significant level of responsibility, working in a small dynamic team, at a crucial time in the development of this ambitious programme.
Responsible for: Planning, organising, recruiting, facilitating and documenting a range of groups and collaborations that aim to transform Walworth’s food system.
You will need to be dedicated and passionate about neighbourhood food, and able to inspire others. You will need to be adaptable and relish uncertainty, and you will be creative and enjoy problem solving. You will also enjoy bringing some order to things by finding the right level of detail at which to project plan, and find personal satisfaction in being organised with good record keeping.
Contract length: 12 months

We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.
This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.
The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. Role Purpose
Grandmentors is an innovative volunteering project where more mature volunteers use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor under supported young people (predominantly aged 17-25) with experience of the care system. These young people often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives. Volunteers meet with a young person regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each young person.
The postholder will be leading on the Grandmentors project within the London Borough of Lewisham, working closely with Lewisham Council and our other Grandmentors projects nationally. The Project Coordinator role is part of a job share, meaning you will be working closely with another Project Coordinator who has already been working on the project for a year. The post holder will attend Council team meetings to integrate Grandmentors into other Council services as well as other local community and council-led events. They will recruit volunteers locally from the community, and within surrounding areas where referred young people live. Young people are referred directly to Volunteering Matters through the Leaving Care team at Lewisham Council. The post holder with work with the young people to match them with a volunteer mentor and support the ongoing relationship. This can include some evening and weekend work, which is within our flexible working culture and policy.
The postholder will be expected to maintain relationships whilst developing new ones, and will be working to achieve match and referral targets. A flexible and adaptable approach is important, working with volunteers and young people to achieve positive outcomes. The postholder will ensure the volunteers are trained and supported to help the young people achieve their goals, and also to support young people who may have varied complex challenges relating to for example, physical and mental health, new parenthood, English as an additional language and barriers faced through cultural heritage.

As part of the Getting Help team, you will provide social and practical support to adults with common mental health problems in a range of settings across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR). This includes assessment and support planning, and community outreach. Typically, Community Engagement Workers support people who are on the waiting list for or who are engaging in Talking Therapy. Purpose of Role: As an IDVA/Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing support and assistance to individuals affected by domestic abuse across the Surrey area. Specific Duties:
- Conducting direct work with clients, utilising sensitive listening and questioning skills to understand their situations and assist in setting priorities.
- Providing practical help, advice, and emotional support to enable clients to navigate their options, including safety planning and risk assessment.
- Encouraging clients to access relevant services such as legal aid, financial assistance, housing, and medical treatment through appropriate referrals.
