About this job:

As Major Gift Development Manager, you’ll:

• Manage a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects and ensure a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey with Dogs Trust to secure five and six figure gifts.
• Attend meetings with existing and new donors, developing bespoke, personalised written communications and proposals that fit with Dogs Trust’s brand.
• Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as other teams across Dogs Trust and VIPs.
• Support the Regional Major Gifts Team Manager in delivering the major donor elements of the fundraising strategy.

With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals and a strong understanding of philanthropy fundraising, you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident and credible, you will have the ability to form strong relationships with existing donors and the tenacity to build networks to find new supporters who can support our work with major gifts. You will have attention to detail and the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events. Driving license is also required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Behaviourist (Clinical Behaviour Services) to work on providing an internal referral service for behavioural medicine, recommending treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, and assisting with more complex cases as required.

What does this role involve?

As Veterinary Behaviourist you’ll:

• Work with the Community Clinical Animal Behaviour and post-adoption support teams in devising the optimal behaviour rehabilitation strategy for dogs in their care while liaising with external veterinary practices as required to support the work of clinical teams.
• Support and advise staff across Dogs Trust on matters relating to psychoactive medication and links between disease, physiology and behavioural signs, under the direction of the Head of Clinical Behaviour Services.
• Provide behaviour consultations to owned dogs with behaviour problems especially those with a medical component that requires specialist input.
• Assist with staff training through workshops, clinical case reviews, mentorship and conferences.

About you:

With a good knowledge of dog behaviour, training and welfare you will have a veterinary qualification with postgraduate experience as a veterinary surgeon. With basic knowledge of statistical methods and ability to evaluate published research you will have enthusiasm for professional development, research and developing specialist skills in veterinary behavioural medicine.

About the Team:

Canine behaviour knowledge and practice is central to rehabilitating dogs within our rehoming centres, and for the provision of Dog School training and education classes. Science led behaviour knowledge also informs a range of other areas of Dogs Trust activity, including campaigns, international projects and the work of the education teams. The role of the Clinical Behaviour Services team is to provide clinical behaviour services for members of the public including adopters of Dogs Trust dogs and in association with Dog School.

Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with birth relatives whose children have been placed for adoption and you will have a good understanding of the adoption process.  You will work with relatives from a range of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and those who may be neuro diverse and you will need to demonstrate understanding, respectfulness and adaptability to your social work practice.

Strategy

· Support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in ensuring strategic workforce planning and change management in alignment with RMC’s overall strategy.

· The post holder must have a proven track record in managing complex HR issues such as grievance, disciplinary, sickness absence and other HR matters and be able to support managers in building effective working relationships.

Service Management

· Leading the provision of a comprehensive human resources service to ensure that we are recruiting the best employees and volunteers and supporting them to deliver outstanding services and other positive change for refugees and migrants.

· Managing RMC’s Human Resources in line with relevant service standards, key performance indicators and the human resources budget, ensuring robust plans are in place but also flexibility to cope with new needs, as they arise.

· Advising the SLT (CEO, Deputy CEO and Head of Services) and other senior managers on human resources matters and ensure all people managers in the organisation have the necessary skills and support to address complex employment issues e.g. in relation to sickness, performance and disciplinary and grievance processes.

· Leading on ensuring that all human resources policies and processes are adequate and reviewed regularly.

· Overseeing RMC’s performance management framework and advise senior managers on any remedial actions required.

· Ensuring timely and accurate workforce information is available as required for trustees, senior managers and the Finance team (e.g. for payroll purposes).

· Actively contribute to RMC’s evaluation process and participating in salary appeal panels and salary benchmarking exercises, and providing advice to senior managers on any salary-related matters.

What's the role about?

For the key strategic business partnership within the dairy sector the role will visit farmer-suppliers and provide in-person habitat advice, and speak with farmers remotely (via Teams / Zoom) to understand their farming operation and provide habitat advice.

You will use this insight and experience to help inform the marketing tools and advisory programme for broader supply chain (other farms) within the partnership.

For other Fair to Nature farmers, and businesses directly linked to them, you will prepare for and complete advisory visits and follow up with applicant Fair to Nature farmers and share the benefits of Fair to Nature certification. You will advise them on how to comply with the FtN Standard and help them complete their Farm Plan.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge of land management practices that deliver nature and wider environment benefits on farmland.
• Understanding of the ecology of main farmland taxa, particularly those of conservation concern.
• Understanding of agricultural systems and how conservation management may impact on farming practice.
• Able to communicate effectively with farmers and advise them on land management for nature.

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder for this role is employed by RASASC (Rape Crisis South London).

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. Helpline Support Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Helpline Support workers have experience of either providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will also need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence. 

It’s an exciting time to join The National Lottery Community Fund as the Environmental Officer on a part time basis, 25 hours a week.

The National Lottery Community Fund is delivering an environmental strategy that will not only help communities we Fund but also identifies us as an exemplar in managing our own environmental impact. 

The role will help lead our journey to net zero emissions by 2030, as well as support our environmental strategy both internally and externally.  An interest in climate change and an understanding of environmental sustainability in the workplace will be a key part to this role as well as the confidence to bring in new ideas. 

The role will sit within the Facilities team which helps support all nine of the Funds offices which are based in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

The environmental officer role will be varied but some of the key responsibilities are:

• You will be responsible for facilitating the Fund’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact and move towards being a net zero organisation by 2030. You will lead best practice around environmental sustainability across sites and engage staff to consider their own impact.
•  You will draw learning and resources from external sources, to develop an array of approaches, with a view to getting all staff to consider the resources they use, irrespective of their motivation.
• You will support the Fund’s established Climate action network, ensuring that they all feel connected to and can contribute to energy and resource savings projects/initiatives/themes.
• You will ensure projects are well planned and progressed and will collate and share environmental measures to demonstrate achievements.
• You will help with environmental data capture and carbon accounting and reporting on any trends both internally and externally.
• You will also provide relevant updates to SMT and work closely with the SMT lead on environmental sustainability, highlighting any issues requiring resolution.
• The role will mainly be based in one office, but you’ll be required to engage across the Fund and develop communications that will reach all staff.
• You may be drawn into any project/team to advise on environmental sustainability.
• You will engage as the sustainable business partner with internal and external stakeholders and will support the communication of strong external messages declaring our dedication to working sustainably.

The ideal candidate for this role should have:

• Passion, commitment, and enthusiasm to help deliver our net zero targets.
• Good communication skills as well as strong analytical and report writing skills.
• Previous experience of environmental sustainability within the workplace would be beneficial.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to help us deliver missional projects aligned with our Refreshed Diocesan Strategy. The strategy includes several bold outcomes such as doubling the number of young people choosing to attend worship regularly and having 3% of total population in the diocese regularly attending our churches.

Our diocesan strategy prioritises resourcing excellent youth ministry in seven ministry areas, to grow younger and more diverse. The good news is that we have just received funding for a 3-year Youth Hubs Pilot project, to define and evaluate an innovative approach to mission and evangelism with young people in a rural context, researching models for growing young disciples with the support of key research partners. Our goal is to bring about a step-change in youth ministry for the Diocese of Hereford and create a replicable model for reaching young people with the gospel in a rural context.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nature and Wellbeing Manager to lead our exciting new project expanding RSPB's flagship 'Nature Prescriptions' Programme into Wales building on the expertise and experience of our Scottish and English colleagues.

RSPB 'Nature Prescriptions' are designed to encourage and prompt people to connect to nature in support of their goals for better wellbeing. We believe that everyone, no matter where they live or the challenges they face, has the right to access nature, and to feel this strong connection to the natural world. Inspiring and enabling healthcare professionals and others in the NHS to prescribe nature, is a key route for the RSPB to enable more people from more diverse communities to access the natural world. Working with healthcare professionals and local communities in Cardiff and surrounds, you will use co-design to create materials in different formats that will support those who need it most. Key tasks will include:

• Lead the development of and promote the delivery of three new RSPB Nature Prescriptions to people living in diverse communities within Cardiff and the surrounding area.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the NHS, health care and social care professionals to inspire and enable them to feel engaged and supported to co-create and prescribe a Nature Prescription, and to connect RSPB with the health sector to help create doors for future work.
• Engage with local healthcare professionals and community groups to co-design Nature Prescriptions materials with local people, community groups and healthcare professionals so that they reach a large diversity of people, and those that need and can benefit the most.
• Develop the project plan and ensure that the right governance structure for project management is in place and RSPB internal project management practices are followed, so that the project stays on track, comes in on budget and risks are identified, escalated, and managed within tolerances.
• Work with local environmental networks to build a picture of nature-based activities available and identify opportunities for partnership working.
• Lead on developing ways to evaluate and measure the impact of the project, including engaging with those prescribing and local communities to gather stories and case studies that demonstrate the benefits to wellbeing and connectedness to nature.
• Build internal relationships with RSPB employees and volunteers working with nature prescribing and nature and wellbeing across the UK.
• Develop a strategy and plan for Nature and Wellbeing work legacy aiming to learn from the work done in Scotland and England and from the communities and health care professionals in Cardiff and surrounds to support development of future work in Cardiff and beyond.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience of working within or alongside the health and wellbeing sector.
• Project management experience with experience of leading on and developing and delivering projects with diverse communities.
• Experience of developing external partnerships and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in delivering workshops or training, ideally with a co-design element.
• Excellent verbal and written communicator able to communicate nature and wellbeing messages in a way that is understood by a range of audiences and that engenders their support.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a varied workload.
• Skilled in using Microsoft 365 suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

• Experience of SharePoint management.
• Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers.
• Welsh speaker or learner.

Student Groups Coordinator

£24,093 gross per annum

The role

This role is part of the Student Activities department working collectively with colleagues delivering the Guild’s student groups, societies, activities and volunteering work as part the Engagement Directorate.

The Student Groups Coordinator roles are to develop the capacity of the student groups within the Guild to enable students to maximise their potential. The support will include the administration of relevant training, tailored support for specific initiatives and assisting groups to plan for their year through attracting membership and delivering their activities.

We are looking for applicants who have experience of dealing with customers both face-to-face and online, over the telephone and via e-mail, with twelve months relevant experience in an administrative role and responsibility for managing and developing administrative systems; along with experience of developing relationships with students and stakeholders to deliver objectives.
