About you
As our Transformational Philanthropy Lead, you will be responsible for leading three critical areas within our Philanthropy & Strategic Foundations team:
- Driving New Business: Forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, engage with UK philanthropic networks, and work with others in the leadership team to develop a new business strategy that leverages our movement's networks and brand.
- Managing Strategic Partnerships: Oversee key partnerships with high-net-worth individuals and Trusts & Foundations, ensuring exemplary account management and securing multi-year commitments aligned with our priorities.
- Leading Innovative Projects: Take charge of pioneering initiatives within Save the Children UK, including our Next Generation project aimed at engaging philanthropists aged 35 and under.
In this role, day -to- day, you will:
- Support the growth of our pipeline alongside senior leadership, nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and enhancing our external profile.
- Contribute to the leadership of the Philanthropy & Strategic Foundations team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Personally manage transformational philanthropic partnerships, securing significant gifts and providing mentorship to team members.
- Represent Save the Children UK within global forums, collaborating with international partners to maximise the impact of our philanthropic efforts.

To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Proven experience in major donor or trust & foundation fundraising, with a track record of securing six and seven figure gifts.

Our Global Programmes Division have an opportunity for a Programme Development Manager to join the the Business Programmes Hub for 9 months.
About the Team
The Business Programmes Hub is comprised of programme development, innovation, and MEAL professionals responsible for developing new shared valued partnerships which speaks to interests of the business community and philanthropic stakeholders.
The Programme Development Manager will lead the development of impactful high-quality programmes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure new programmes incorporate creativity and innovation to capture the interest of corporate partners and philanthropists.
Your Role:
As Programme Development Manager, your role will be to oversee the development and writing of high quality, bespoke pitch decks, concept notes, and proposals for business and philanthropic partners. You will project manage the opportunity development process to ensure we are designing programmes that truly leverage the unique assets and capabilities of the private sector – beyond philanthropic funding – to create transformational change for children. This includes designing innovative, sector leading partnerships that emerge through a process of co-design which you will facilitate in partnership with colleagues across the organisation in the UK Impact, Global Programmes, and Fundraising and Marketing Departments.
Your Key Accountabilities:
- Identify and develop innovative partnership opportunities that leverage the unique resources and capabilities of prospective business and philanthropy partners, working closely with the UK Impact, Global Programmes, and Partnerships & Philanthropy departments to ensure alignment between partner and Save the Children priorities
- Work with Partnerships & Philanthropy to proactively steer new opportunities and enquiries with business and philanthropic partners towards Save the Children's strategic objectives and priorities
- Project manage the proposal development process, including ensuring quality assurance of the programme design, including theories of change and budgets.
- Lead on writing high quality, bespoke and engaging pitch decks, concept notes, and proposals for business and philanthropy partners, as well as cross-sectoral proposals that bring together partners across business, philanthropy, and government.

About You

- Experience of working in programming and an understanding of programme design and programme management

We are looking for a Project Lead to play a pivotal role in the strategic planning, execution, and monitoring of a new innovative programme, the Immunization Accelerator, that seeks to fund and support locally-led innovations that address long standing barriers to child immunisation in Nigeria and Ethiopia.
The role needs to be based in either Ethiopia or Nigeria.
Background
The Immunization Accelerator is part of an ambitious five-year partnership which includes programmes in Ethiopia and Nigeria focusing on access to quality immunisation services, and a research agenda generating robust and credible evidence about the effectiveness of interventions, as well as value for money and replicability. We will partner with academic institutions, including those from Ethiopia and Nigeria.
The accelerator is part of a wider 5 year partnership between Save the Children and GSK in Nigeria and Ethiopia which will include research partnering with academic institutions, generating robust and credible evidence about the effectiveness of interventions, as well as their value for money and replicability and, programmes in Ethiopia and Nigeria building on our previous immunisation track-record, including those implemented in the Somali region of Ethiopia in partnership with GSK.
Your Role
As the Immunization Accelerator Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and monitoring of innovative projects aimed at overcoming barriers to child immunization. As part of a , working in synergy with teams across the Save the Children movement, you will collaborate with colleagues across the Save the Children movement as well as local organizations and institutions, to ensure that promising innovations receive the support they need to develop their evidence bases.
Your Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the end to end support of immunization innovations, from selection via an open call, through piloting to evaluation. You will be able to help innovators work through the next steps they need to take in order to build their evidence bases and take their innovations to the next level.
- Regular in-person support and monitoring of selected innovation projects/partners, including site visits that will require frequent travel in both Nigeria and Ethiopia.
- Initiate and lead discussions with local enterprise, health and innovation stakeholders, including donors, investors, and communities, to ensure the incubator is well networked, has a healthy pipeline and can offer the best support for our innovators.
- You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including local partners, Save the Children and GSK to deliver the programme.
- Communicate regularly with the Accelerator Project Team and Accelerator Investment Committees, providing progress reports from the innovators.
- Ensure relevant quality assurance processes are completed so that programmes are running effectively and on time. Support award team to ensure that awards management and other relevant information systems are up-to-date, and that global and internal processes are followed.
- Support grant and contract management, from grant set-up to quality assurance during implementation, lead reporting on the Accelerator and work with other SCUK departments to support reporting of the Immunisation programme. Ensure awards in the portfolio are compliant with donor requirements and SC quality standards.
- Implement an agile evaluation and learning approach, regularly collecting and analysing relevant data to adapt. Facilitate review and reflection meetings to optimize the design of the incubator and support provided. And ensure evaluation of the incubator and innovations takes place in a robust and useful.
About You
To be successful, it is important that you have the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in project management, specifically in the field of enterprise support or health innovation, health management or health research.
- Must have previous experience of working with a range of in-country organisations of different types and sizes, for example, Community Based Organisations, Non-Government Organisations, universities, private sector health initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to bring together cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of the innovation process, preferably with experience in global health initiatives or social enterprise.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to complexity and uncertainty, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and reporting.
- Previous experience working in a global and multicultural context is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English language essential.

As a Policy & Advocacy Adviser (Conflict & Humanitarian), you will carry out a broad range of assignments and/or projects in line with the strategy and policies for your professional area and under overall managerial direction. You will lead on Save the Children UK's advocacy for children affected by conflict and crisis in Ukraine and Syria, two of the most complex and sensitive contexts in which our charity works. As a Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser you will work in the Education Team within the Global Policy, Advocacy and Research department.
Save the Children is partnering with the LEGO Foundation on an exciting new project to advocate for changes in policy, participation, and funding to improve the quality of instruction and wellbeing of teachers in refugee hosting communities in Kenya.
Your role will focus on advocacy on refugee education, including a focus on teachers and the education workforce. The role will require you to work closely with colleagues in our Kenya office, to both support advocacy at the national level, and to affect change on refugee education through global advocacy.
Our ideal candidate for this role would be someone who is a sharp strategic thinker, who understands how to make political and policy change happen across different contexts. You will have experience of working with partners to achieve national and global policy change, and have strong networking and relationship building skills. Experience of working in global education or humanitarian sectors is desirable.

As a Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser you will work in the Education Team within the Global Policy, Advocacy and Research department.

Specifically, you will be working closely with colleagues at Save the Children and members of GADRRRES (Global Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction & Resilience in the Education Sector) to promote the global implementation of the Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF). This is an important time for this area of work, as the revised CSSF was launched in September 2022, and as the education sector contends with the increasing risks posed by climate change, health pandemics, and conflict. This project is being delivered in partnership with Prudence Foundation, who have partnered with Save the Children to promote school safety and resilience at the national, regional and global level. Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and influential individual with experience of developing training and learning packages on technical subjects ideally within the humanitarian/international development sector to join us as our Crisis Financing Training & Capacity Development Advisor where you will develop and expand an innovative package of trainings and learning for the Start Network covering the portfolio of topics and programmes under the organisations New Forms of Financing including Crisis Anticipation and Risk Financing.

Start Network is made up of more than 50 aid agencies across five continents, ranging from large international to national NGOs. Together, our aim is to transform humanitarian action through innovation, fast funding, early action, and localisation.
We're tackling what we believe are the biggest systemic problems that the sector faces. Problems including slow and reactive funding, centralised decision-making, and an aversion to change mean that people affected by crises around the world do not receive the best help fast enough, and needless suffering results. Our work focuses on three areas to change the system; localisation, new forms of financing and collective innovation.
About the role
The Crisis Financing Training & Capacity Development Advisor will be responsible for developing and expanding an innovative package of trainings and learning for the Start Network.
You will play a crucial role in the ongoing capacity development of Start Network organisation, by disseminating and institutionalising new developments in learning, knowledge and terminology
related to Start Network crisis financing programming throughout the staff team.
You will continue to develop new and strengthen existing training packages that are of high quality and will ensure that Start Network's New Financing programming is mainstreamed throughout the sector in a sustainable manner.
You will be responsible for assisting in delivering trainings to member agency colleagues, Start Network Hubs as well as training the Start Network team. You will coordinate a group of ‘trainers' who can offer high quality capacity development opportunities. You will also ensure that monitoring, evaluation and accountability is built into capacity development to measure outputs and outcomes more systematically.
In this role, you will:
- Leverage technical expertise from Start team members, technical partners and the anticipation and risk financing building blocks framework to design modularised training and learning materials to meet the capacity development needs of the Start Network, including e-learning.
- Identify and develop a training of trainers (TOT) programme and build up a group of trainers within the Start team and across the Start Network membership.
- Strengthen the training and facilitation skills of Start Network team
- Develop a learning pathway with the technical leads to ensure different stakeholders can access the training necessary for their role
- Investigate and utilise cutting edge and interactive learning and training approaches, building partnerships and relationships with providers of such services.
- Review and develop adaptable learning materials with multi language application requirements and cultural contexts as needed.
- Work with academic partners to see how higher levels of training and learning could achieve levels of accreditation for member participants.
- Lead on coordinating and monitoring capacity development with the above-mentioned cadre of trainers from the Start team and across the Start Network membership, supporting the cadre to deliver high quality trainings as well as delivering in-person trainings directly and ensuring that materials and approaches are adapted to context.
- Build in monitoring, evaluation and accountability systems. Feed learning back into the development of training, and into the wider Start Financing programme delivery.
- Work with Start Programmes team (i.e. CARF and Start Funds) to understand their work and the subject areas to develop the training package.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Experienced as a confident and engaging trainer, facilitator and communicator with excellent networking and relationship-building skills and with proven ability to cater to diverse stakeholders i.e. grassroot, regional and international organisations.
- Sound knowledge of humanitarian financing.
- Proven experience in developing training and learning packages on technical subjects.
- Knowledge and experience of undertaking learning needs analysis and designing high quality blended
learning solutions. - Proven ability to provide engaging, effective, and operationally applicable training in person and remotely.
- Knowledge of building and designing e- learning modules and digital packages on Moodle and/ or Kaya
learning platforms. - Adaptability and flexibility, sensitive to and able to modify approach and materials to meet varied
requirements including ability, language, context, etc. - Ability to adapt materials to be contextually appropriate.
- Experience in partnership development in national and/or international contexts
- Project management skills and experience.
- Understanding of pedagogical principles of adult learning.
Experience with coordination and navigating a fast-paced humanitarian setting. - Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with colleagues on all levels in a disbursed and
multicultural professional environment. - Passionate about the potential of humanitarian early action and risk financing.
- Relevant professional experience developing and delivering training, or teaching complex subjects in an
