The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across the Midlands.
This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in the Midlands. The Charity
The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people. All our services are provided completely free of charge to the young people who are nominated by schools and other youth organisations to take part.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Adventure Programme Support Manager to support both young people and volunteers on our Adventure Programme. Working alongside the Programme Managers you will act in a support function across the activity days and camps, and be involved in direct one to one support for young people. You will also work alongside the Volunteering Lead to recruit, manage and support the volunteers who are front and centre of ensuring our young people’s positive experiences and outcomes. This is a diverse role with the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people both through direct work and supporting the wider team.
Programme Support
This aspect of the role includes;

Attending residential camps and activity days throughout the year, assisting with organising and delivering the Adventure Programme.

Volunteer Management
Volunteers are critical to the success of our programme for vulnerable young people; recruiting, supporting and developing capable, skilled, empathetic, engaging and committed volunteers is essential to the impact of our work.

Promoting volunteering opportunities and recruiting new volunteers to the organisation to ensure needs are met.

Senior Youth Participation Officer
Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Senior Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!
The post holder will coordinate and develop our new young people drop-in programme and additional youth action programmes, aimed at engaging local young people into the work of FYA. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of the drop-in sessions, as well as deliver some youth led social action programmes. We are looking for a well-organised person, familiar with office systems, who can demonstrate empathy and good communication and interpersonal skills. Parenting experience, experience of working with disadvantaged families and survivors of domestic abuse would be advantageous.

Overall responsibility:
Helping children and young people reach their full potential and encourage them to contribute to society in order to build their own skills and employability. Encourage young people to develop skills and confidence through fun activities. Supervise volunteers in running sessions as well as leading sessions where required. HAVE FUN, be creative and think outside the box.
The Team Leader will be required to possess appropriate IT skills in order that all activity plans are uploaded to our online staff portal and data from activities and sessions are updated onto our online organisation database on a regular basis.

About the Role
The Retail Business Manager, North provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of the evolution of Save the Children Retail.
This role will play a pivotal part in leading and inspiring change, motivating teams, bringing the Save the Children culture and our vision to life.
Our shops exist to provide a beautiful shopping experience for all the community. They are each unique within our family of propositions but are united in creating an energy and atmosphere, with positivity and kindness, and providing a welcoming diverse environment.
This role will be vital in providing clarity and direction with regards to how we operate (see our How Our Shops Operate document attached), guiding and engaging shop teams to drive the business to optimum operational success, as well as harnessing commerciality and embracing localism in line with each shop's proposition.
The current shops you'll manage include Whitby, Chester, Derby, Glasgow, and two sites in Edinburgh, but please note that these shops/locations will change as the business evolves.
About You
Essential skills & experience:
Our successful candidate will be someone with significant retail and/or charity retail management experience.
- You'll be experienced in driving and delivering change management.
- You will be experienced in managing multiple sites and staff, comfortable with providing remote guidance and direction.
- You'll have exceptional people management skills, including strong leadership and motivational skills.
- You will be entrepreneurial and driven by results with the ability to recognise and prioritise opportunities with the greatest potential.
- You'll have a valid driving license and be willing and able to travel regularly to the shops you manage (currently across Scotland and Northern England).
This role provides an opportunity for someone with relevant experience in a similar role, looking for a fresh challenge and the chance to hone and utilise their skills to make a positive impact.

You will manage the delivery element of the role from a base within the local community (where we keep a book stock and all equipment needed) from about 4.00-7.00pm. You will also from time to time be reading with and visiting families yourself, so you must be capable of lifting boxes, carrying rucksacks and pulling trolleys of books, walking around the estate and up and down stairs. Administration will be done at home/office.
You will need to have outstanding interpersonal skills to build relationships with both our dedicated volunteers and the local community. You will inspire a love of reading in the children we visit and be a friendly face for their parents/carers, providing support and information where needed. You will be confident, practical and able to think on your feet.

We are Zarach: the children’s bed charity. Our story and our work have captured the nation’s attention, with regular appearances on local and national TV, and with our 2023 Christmas Appeal being supported by The Independent. Our charity was built upon voluntary endeavour and over the last six years we have continued to be incredibly well supported by people who choose to give their time, effort, skills, and experiences as volunteers to our mission of seeking to end child bed poverty in England.
We are honoured and humbled to have people volunteer with us on both a regular and more ad-hoc basis, and across different areas of the work we do. In the coming years we are seeking to respond to the increasing problem of child bed poverty through:

There are a significant number of volunteering opportunities we want to provide, and we are now looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to take this vital area of our work forward.
The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully supporting the promotion of volunteering opportunities, recruiting volunteers, overseeing volunteers’ induction and core training, and in the ongoing engagement and recognition of volunteers and their amazing contributions.
The main geographical areas (whilst not exclusively) of focus for us in the coming period are across the M62 corridor and the North East of England. The postholder would be required to travel across these areas but also beyond this, as we seek to then support more children in areas of greatest need across England in due course.

Girlguiding welcomes thousands of new volunteers every year. We know we can do more to make this process easier for everyone, and to bring in more volunteers to deliver more incredible experiences for girls.
We need a volunteer recruitment manager with experience operating at scale, comfortable with working on digital journeys that create real-life experiences. You'll be great at building relationships and work closely with our country & region teams, our central marketing team and other colleagues across Girlguiding to make best use of insight to grow volunteering.
