The Opportunity

About the Role

The Medical Sciences Development team works collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and the wider Development and Alumni Engagement team to secure philanthropic support for research priorities across Oxford’s medical sciences community.

As Development Executive, you will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gift prospects and develop meaningful relationships with donors, academics, and colleagues across the University. You will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of supporting research projects through gifts typically ranging from £100,000 to £500,000 over time.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile fundraising initiatives that support world-leading medical research. You will also work closely with the Head of Development - Medical Sciences to help deliver fundraising priorities across a diverse and impactful portfolio.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of major gift fundraising, including securing gifts at the £50,000 level or above.
• The ability to identify and engage prospective donors and develop relationships.
• Strong strategic and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

Strategy and leadership

• Play a key role in developing and refining our income strategy to meet our organisational strategy and priorities
• Take a leadership role in income generation, collaborating with colleagues to identify and take forward opportunities for income generation and partnerships
• Advise the CEO and senior team on growth opportunities and strategic partnerships while providing coaching, guidance and support to the team on best practice in developing successful partnerships to generate income

• Develop and secure high-value partnerships with carefully selected industry partners in line with our partnerships policy. Oversee stewardship of partners to develop successful strategic relationships in both the short and long term

• Work with senior team colleagues, clinical leads and other team members to develop compelling, outcome-driven cases for support
• Explore and support potential opportunities for income generation in other areas such as public sector and earned income.

Performance and compliance

• Monitor and report on progress towards KPIs and income targets
• Create and enhance systems, processes and tools to develop the charity’s income-generation capability
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulation and best practice
• Work with finance colleagues on forecasting, reporting and income tracking.

Person specification

Essential

• Substantial experience leading income‑generation activity, including developing strategies, building pipelines and securing income across multiple streams
• Strong track record of developing and stewarding high‑value partnerships that deliver income and impact
• Experience personally leading successful bids, proposals and pitches
• Confidence operating both strategically and hands‑on within a small or medium-sized organisation

The Head of Education Change leads Pillar 3: Education Change, the branch of REUK dedicated to systemic transformation. Currently, the UK education systems lack overarching policy frameworks to support the integration of refugee learners, and there are key evidence gaps in what works best in education for refugee children. School leaders and teachers want to help, but lack the needed training and support. Good practice is often hidden and the expertise of young refugees is not considered in policy making.

As the Head of Education Change, you will be responsible for bridging these gaps. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to influence national policies, improve educational practices, and ensure that the expertise of young refugees is at the heart of decision-making. Your remit will span research and policy, advocacy, youth leadership, and training/capacity building to ensure that the good practice currently hidden in pockets of the UK becomes the standard across the board. As Head of Communications and Brand at the Harris Federation, you will shape and protect our public profile, leading strategic communications, marketing and media activity across a network of 55 academies.

• Own and develop high impact external campaigns to support pupil recruitment, reputation and trust building, staff recruitment (in collaboration with Talent Acquisition), and new academy expansions.

MarComms Directorate Leadership

• Build and lead a high performing Marketing & Communications Directorate.

About the Role

In this exciting and newly created role, you will lead the project management of new projects with end-to-end delivery of multiple new Youth Zones. Working closely with colleagues across multi-disciplinary teams, you will ensure every project is delivered effectively, collaboratively and to the highest standards.

You will thrive on managing the detail of individual projects, whilst also maintaining oversight across the whole portfolio of projects at different stages. The role doesn’t have direct reports but requires strong matrix leadership, influencing others to deliver at pace and with accountability.

You will:

• Lead project planning, governance and delivery across multiple Youth Zone developments
• Chair project meetings and manage decision-making gateways
• Ensure robust reporting, risk management and issue resolution

Therapeutic Management
