About the role:

Our Communications and Engagement team is responsible for engaging external audiences, supporters and beneficiaries in PACT’s work and fundraising challenges. 

As our Communications and Engagement Officer you will play a valuable role in shaping and sharing compelling content that brings PACT’s mission to life. You will:

· produce PACT communications and marketing materials that reflect our values and demonstrate our impact. This includes a programme of social media engagement, regular newsletters, press releases, internal communications, creating content for the website and capturing illuminating lived experiences for the variety of channels.

· ensure that all internal and external communications align to our brand

· raise awareness of the PACT brand and our services

· contribute to PACT’s fundraising targets with appeals and challenges

About you:

To be a successful Communications and Engagement Officer, you’ll have skills and experience in using:

· Social media for organisation and event promotion

· Analytic and insight tools to develop reach and engagement across digital platforms

· WordPress content management systems to create, edit and maintain webpages

· Mailchimp as an email marketing tool

· Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud apps, or similar graphic design platforms

· CRM programs, such as Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the Royal British Legion as a Poppy Appeal Manager for East Kent. This role offers a unique opportunity to coordinate all aspects of the award winning Poppy Appeal in your area, working closely with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager to meet agreed income, expenditure, and contribution targets. As the Membership Networks Coordinator, you will support volunteers in the organisation and promotion of online and in person events, as well as supporting during events and meetings. At both local and national events, you will also act as an ambassador for the organisation. The Director of Operations for Edinburgh International Book Festival [EIBF] sits at the intersection of programme delivery, organisational management and operational leadership. The role combines events delivery with charity-wide management. This ensures that EIBF runs smoothly, festivals and events happen effectively, and all activity aligns with our charitable objectives and purpose.

The Director of Operations will lead all operational and logistical aspects of the annual Book Festival and year-round programmes. Purpose of the role

This role will build and grow a sustainable Individual Giving programme from a small base, developing the strategy and activity needed to significantly increase public fundraising income. The role will strengthen supporter journeys, improve retention, and establish regular giving as a core income stream. It will also lead the development of in‑memory giving and deliver two key annual campaigns, helping to create a more reliable and resilient income base. Key responsibilites 

• Lead and grow our regular giving programme, developing a clear plan to increase supporter numbers, strengthen retention and build long‑term value. Ensure monthly giving becomes a visible and natural part of our campaigns, events and wider communications, helping to create a reliable foundation of recurring income. 

• Plan and deliver 2–3 integrated appeals each year, working closely with Marketing to shape warm, compelling messaging. Set achievable income targets, monitor performance and embed a test‑and‑learn approach so each appeal improves on the last. 

• Strengthen and expand our in‑memory giving, ensuring supporters feel supported and valued at what can be a deeply personal time. Introduce light‑touch legacy awareness in a sensitive, values‑led way to begin building longer‑term support. 

• Create clear, engaging supporter journeys that move people from a first gift to ongoing involvement. Use insight and data to understand behaviour, re‑engage lapsed donors where appropriate and identify opportunities to develop mid‑value giving. 

• Maintain oversight of individual giving performance, tracking income against target and identifying trends, risks and opportunities early. Contribute to forecasting and planning, bringing structure and confidence to this growing income stream. 

• Work closely with Relationship Fundraisers and the Partnerships Manager to ensure activity is joined up, supporting community donors to move into wider giving journeys and making the most of opportunities such as payroll giving. Play an active role in monthly income discussions and in shaping our wider growth plans. 

• Take a hands‑on approach to delivery, from drafting copy and shaping creative to managing data selections and supporter communications. As this is a developing income stream, you’ll be comfortable building processes, testing new ideas and driving activity forward with initiative and independence. 

• Work with our Engagement team to strengthen digital fundraising, ensuring donation pages, email journeys and social content support donor recruitment and retention.

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Programme Coordinator, you'll help make sure that support reaches as many young people as possible and that it's delivered to a consistently high standard.

You'll lead a small team of sports coaches and youth mentors, helping them plan great sessions, develop their practice and overcome the day-to-day challenges that come with the job. You'll also build and maintain strong relationships with schools, alternative provisions and community partners to keep programmes running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role. Alongside keeping regional delivery on track, you'll still spend time working directly with young people: being a positive presence, modelling good practice and helping create the kind of safe, engaging environments where young people can thrive.

You'll also take the lead on the activities that go beyond our weekly sessions such as organising holiday programmes, Career Taster Days, regional trips and events that give young people experiences they wouldn't otherwise have. These are some of the most rewarding parts of the role and a real chance to see young people shine in a different context.

Building relationships in the community is a big part of this too. You'll get to know the local area, embed yourself in the networks around it and find partners, venues and opportunities that help deepen out work and enhance our engagement with young people.

The Opportunity:   

The Aspiring Professionals Programme Coordinator (APPC) postholder is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Social Mobility Foundation’s programme of activities for young people across all Programme years. 

There are 2 roles available, both based in Newcastle. 
 

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Project Delivery 

• Deliver key projects including recruiting and onboarding students, creating digital resources and student events  
• Support with programme pilots, scoping (and delivering on) new activity   
• Collaborate and build relationships with our employer partners, schools, and universities to support our young people in their applications for university, internships and graduate roles  
• Deliver on allocated events relating to our programme model (university applications, skill development, work experience and mentoring), presenting content to a high standard and in line with the Social Mobility Foundation messaging

 2. Monitoring and Evaluation  

• Follow established procedures to monitor the progress of your work area, using accurate data to inform decisions
• Maintain accurate records across relevant databases, updating data accurately and in a timely manner  
• Contribute to evaluation for key work areas (residentials, events, internships etc), produce high quality evaluation reports where required.

3. Stakeholder Management

• Communicate to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
• Proactively update external partners (i.e. employers) on your work areas, flagging risks in a timely manner with relationship managers
• Manage internal student queries and maintain consistent stakeholder (e.g. students) processes through regular communication

4. Activity Delivery  

• Coordinate planning and delivery of skills sessions, partner events, university visits, and other activities, both virtually and in person across the Social Mobility Foundation’s target cities across the UK
• Coordinate logistics of sixth form and S5/S6 and undergraduate internships, including but not limited to, student selection, liaising with students and employers throughout internship delivery 
• Coordinate and support with the organisation, logistics and delivery of in-person residential programmes for students, including staying on site for day and overnight visits when needed

• Create digital resources to support all provisions

Ways of working:

• Most of our work is office based, but you will spend a lot of time collaborating with other teams and clients via email, telephone and other communications channels such as Teams or Zoom.  
• This role requires you to attend staff residentials for students on our Programme. This means that during the summer period (Jul – Aug) you will be expected to stay overnight on-site (in the UK - exact location to be confirmed closer to the time) for a period of up to two-weeks, help run the residential and be responsible for the welfare of the young people involved.
• Please note this role may require some travel during our student recruitment period (September – November) and peak delivery period (February - May).

• Some travel, to other offices and other locations, will occasionally be expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Business

· Support the development of a new business pipeline by researching, approaching and engaging prospective corporate partners across a range of sectors

· Contribute to securing income through corporate sponsorships and donations, supporting Back Up’s services and special events

· Work closely with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop and tailor partnership propositions and offers

· Support the identification and securing of corporate sponsorship for Back Up special events

· Assist in securing gift in kind and pro bono support to help deliver the charity’s work

· Support the onboarding of new partners, including completing due diligence in line with Back Up’s ethical fundraising policy and assisting with partnership agreements and stewardship plans

Account Management

· Deliver high-quality relationship and account management for Legal Panel members and sponsors, supporting agreed engagement and stewardship plans

· Promote opportunities for partners and sponsors to increase their involvement and impact, including volunteering, fundraising, events, donations and grants

· Support delivery of Legal Panel and Sponsorship agreements, including coordinating meetings, attending events and ensuring strong partner visibility

· Produce and share clear reports and updates on activity, outcomes and impact with partners and sponsors

· Ensure partners and sponsors feel valued, informed and engaged, recognising the contribution they make to Back Up’s work

Collaboration and Promotion

· Build strong, positive working relationships across the organisation to support effective delivery of corporate fundraising plans

· Work with the Trusts and Foundations team to support applications to relevant corporate foundations, where appropriate

· Collaborate with the Public Fundraising team to ensure partner and sponsor engagement opportunities are shared and promoted

· Support the Services team by sharing relevant information and plans to help deliver strong partner relationships and high-quality experiences

· Work closely with the Communications team to ensure agreed partner promotion and recognition is delivered on time and to a high standard

· Attend networking events, partner events and Back Up special events to help steward existing relationships and support new opportunities

Operational and Planning

· Support reporting against team income targets, KPIs and forecasts to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager

· Maintain and develop an accurate portfolio of prospects and partners using the corporate pipeline and CRM

· Contribute to annual plans and quarterly reviews, supporting ongoing improvement and shared learning

Volunteering Assistant

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. The Volunteering Assistant supports the Head of Volunteering in delivering the organisation’s strategy by strengthening volunteer management, engagement, and development. Working across departments, the role ensures smooth day-to-day volunteering operations, supports both volunteers and role managers, and contributes to projects that enhance the overall volunteer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the volunteering function, including managing the volunteering inbox and maintaining accurate data
• Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and engagement activities across programmes 
• Assist role managers and volunteers, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and processes 
• Coordinate volunteer events, communications, and recognition initiatives

Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based charity providing information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  The charity works closely with professional partners, including the 5 NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the UK.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, requiring medical support from a young age. Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK.

Established by group of parents in 1993, Headlines now has over 2,500 members.  Within our charity offer we send out regular newsletters and an annual magazine, Headline News.  We also support families to connect through events such as an annual Family Weekend, conferences and Days Out, and provide information through our helpline and access to psychological support.  We have private social media groups and specific groups within our membership who meet regularly including Cranio Dads, Young Persons Network and a Teens Group.

After 8 successful years, our current Director will be retiring in 2026 and we are now seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational and proactive individual to take up the reins.This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established, respected national charity at an important moment of transition.

Strategic priorities for us, moving forward, include increasing our fundraising activities to ensure sustainability of the charity alongside the smooth running of our core activities in providing support, facilitating research and raising awareness.

Key responsibilities

The Executive Director will hold day-to-day responsibilities, working closely with the Chair and Trustee Board to provide effective leadership and operational management of the charity. Specifically, they will:

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, liaising with members, health professionals and with wider community and provide day-to-day management of Headlines staff and activities, setting objectives in line with the operational plan.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and other legal, statutory and regulatory requirements and responsibilities.
• Work on behalf of and with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s mission, goals, operational plans and long-term strategy,  and act as a positive leader and role model, managing and motivating Headlines staff,
• Ensure effective financial management of Headlines working closely with trustees and the treasurer to ensure financial security and appropriate allocation of funds.
• Manage and enhance the event programme to meet charity objectives, including identifying and meeting members’ priorities and raising awareness of craniofacial conditions.
• Develop opportunities for collaborative working and partnerships with other organisations for the benefit of people with craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions.  This also includes work overseas, predominantly in Europe with our medical and charity partners.
• Oversee communications and marketing activities to raise the profile of Headlines, its work and the needs of its members.
• Identify opportunities for growth, developing projects and keeping policies relevant, to enhance and expand the work of Headlines.
• Be responsible for generating funds through innovative and cost-effective fundraising activities and grant applications to maintain the long-term success of the charity.

Person specification 

Essential criteria

• An understanding of the importance of the charity’s values and priorities.
• Evidence of inclusive, innovative and proactive leadership, with demonstrable experience of fundraising and income generation.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with experience organising events and activities.
• Experience of successfully managing budgets and developing new and sustainable funding streams.
• Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills and the ability to write reports for public consumption and for statutory obligations.
• A high level of digital literacy skills with an understanding of online technology and the application of social media.
• Proven track record in managing, leading and motivating staff and volunteers.
• Willingness to operate a hybrid model of working with most work taking place from home, working remotely with stakeholders and across the UK/ internationally for specific events.

Other information

Headlines hosts events and fundraising activities throughout the whole of the UK. All Headlines staff are expected to work flexibly to support those activities as required, e.g. attendance at Annual Family Weekend, conferences, member events, supporter receptions and other related scientific meetings and conferences. This may occasionally require travel and overnight stays. In addition, all staff are expected to be self-servicing in terms of administration and basic digital skills.
